Does river start school in September or is it different in Wales? Thought she would be making a big thing of it if he was
He is 4 in May so he would get a school place from September. Unless she’s decided to defer him to compulsory school age but I can’t imagine her having enough about her to organise this.
I wonder if with his additional needs she wants a particular school / special provision and so needs to go through the appeal process but doesn’t want to discuss it as this means being open about his additional needs.

Oh yeah that's true, doesn't want to have to admit he has extra needs.
I was also thinking is she that dopey that she didn't realise she had to apply and that he would just be given a place somewhere, like when she didn't realise she had to actually talk to her child.
Bizarre behaviour! I'm gonna do a massive stereotype here but I'll bet river has a special interest but because it's not Easter bunnies or chicks she isn't bothered. My son has got a fractions set for Easter. He's gonna love it.

Yeah he's at preschool. She calls it something like play school, but he wears a uniform and has half term holidays so I assume it's preschool.
Just seen the most recent post and I still can’t figure her out. She’s acknowledging that up until very recently he’s been non verbal, but I can’t decide whether the vibe is “we know this is normal for him because we’ve done our research and are supporting him behind the scenes” or “we think this is normal cos all kids get it in their own time and actually we’ve sought zero advice/help”

jade he's been having speech and language. It's the speech and language. That's the different thing! I thought she was just not saying anything because she doesn't have to and it's not his whole personality but it seems she is dismissing it and just expecting him to work through it by himself.
