When Ian talks about his mental health/emotional difficulties I feel sympathy and want to give him a hug. When Jobbie does it I just go  .
I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same way. There's a sincerity about Ian that is seriously lacking with JOB.

I'm listening to Jobbie this morning because his topic is the horrific stories about Middlesborough and I wondered how he would manage to blame his usual targets for what's happening. He was doing quite well and it was genuinely interesting until he triumphantly delved into his bag of obsessions and produced 'Farridge'. If he was in charge he wouldn't care about the lawlessness because the protagonists aren't black or brown.

Has anyone from Reform actually commented on the violence though? They blame migrants for everything.

They've gone quiet on this one. No political points to be scored. There have been hints about the thugs having Traveller backgrounds, but nothing official.

Nice to have James Max sitting in for James Hansen over the Bank Holiday. He's then doing overnights for the rest of the week.

Nick A reminds me of Steve Allen. In that I couldn't imagine him not doing his radio show. I wonder when he'll retire from the radio.

Jenrick must be on holiday otherwise he'd have been on it.

Not any time soon. He's just turned 66 and he keeps saying how he doesn't feel it. The concept of being 66 is alien to him. Nick and Carol have talked about it a lot as she's also 66.

I get it. When I was a kid people who were 66 were ancient. I was looking at my Mum and Dad's wedding photos recently and looking at my grandparents I worked out they must have been in their late 40's/early 50's but they looked 80 at least.

Anyone listening to Nick A recently will have heard people comparing him to Flat Eric and it's gaining traction. I had to look up who Flat Eric was and it was a puppet used in a Levi's ad. In my search I found some wag had done this:

I didn't realise Nick and Carol's podcast is quite behind. I was listening back to the episode on the 20th of this month and they were talking about the eclipse the day before, which was on the 12th! I was hoping to hear their views on Dolly Parton's death.

Nick said last night how he's wary of saying names of celebs now because whenever he does, they end up dying. Lol. A caller reminded him that he mentioned Dolly Parton last weekend regarding Trump's hair and then this week she dies. Coincidence? Lol

The weirdest one for that was when Nick and Carol were discussing William Orbit and Madonna. A few days later it was announced that William Orbit had died and the first thing I thought was 'Nick and Carol were talking about him last week'. Nick categorically denies talking about Tim Curry though.

Natasha Devon books and biography | Waterstones

Plenty of other potential Xmas gifts...Spoilt for choice here.

It's the annual Bank Holiday Mob Violence Fest again aka the Notting Hill Carnival/Carnage. Ban it, I say. Poor police will get it in the neck again.
It gets better (not the book) as I looked further.

The single review is from Jemma Forte who has two main claims to fame.

1. She is by some distance the least successful member of the Forte family.

2. This "Two political commentators are facing a backlash after posing together with T-shirts bearing the message: "Save the badgers... cull the Tories".

Jemma Forte and Marina Purkiss showed off the tops in a now-deleted Twitter post that has attracted criticism in light of the murders of Tory MP Sir David Amess and Labour MP Jo Cox. "

I think a whip-round to send Jobby a back-up bottle of Grey Goose would be a kind gesture. Result just in of Iceland's referendum to rejoin the EU. NO THANKS!
