They are. But this one has an aftermarket dial fitted, and when aftermarket dial’s are fitted they never seal properly again. (I work for Rolex)
This is for sure a real watch, just not a factory set one.
people also leave the winders out slightly by mistake all the time, I’ve done it on my own submariner last year and it let water in

I’d put good money in that being a fake. My bro in law has an £8k one and regularly goes diving in it and it’s fine.
It looks very dull and tarnished in the pic which a real one doesn’t.

This watch is also an 80’s model. So it’s super old. They look like this all the time when they haven't been looked after/serviced properly.
