If I were to catch her videos randomly I would still enjoy aspects of them as stand-alone viewing. However it's now impossible to unknow the backstory of how she operates, and impossible to overlook the less-pleasant aspects of her personality.

I noticed the body language and also, there was a different energy. A bit nervous energy. It was not relaxed energy. Super broad forced feeling smiles. Not easy smiles. If she's reading all here, maybe she's feeling it. Well she must be, and for a moment that makes me feel bad, but just for a moment because if there is manipulative narcissism here, you should not feel sorry. It's all conscious and intentional and there's nothing wrong about calling it out. Because narcissists harm other people and take from others under false pretenses, for their own gain.

Hello everyone! Just made an account in order to jump on this thread I have been fascinated by KF since I started following her a few years ago, but couldn't quite my finger on it why exactly I found her such an odd personality. You all confirm my previous feelings about her.

To add on some comments earlier about how Kylie met Guido, in one of her recent YT videos I saw her comment on a subscriber's about them meeting online. She mentioned that her and Guido met through mutual friends in Florence. Something about them meeting the 'oldfashioned way'

Hi @PlinyinTorquay I haven’t met her but Shannon appears to be a much quieter person and is the younger sister. She is a naturopath and likes to keep a low profile. But she has a very broad Australian accent that puts Kylie’s hilarious Mid-Atlantic-Pretend-Posh voice to shame!

Because of this forum I went back and watched the video about restoring the villa (with the cannoli stuff at the start) and both she and Guido seem to both put on this very pretentious kind of babytalk and accent (during the very boring putting up the shutters section).

Guido also seemed flummoxed that he had somehow been convinced to paint the shutters a non-Tuscan pale blue by her and said he was going to have to get used to them... Little does he know he’s getting an insight into the endless, narcissistic byways and alleys of Kylie’s demands...

Well since I only watched a couple of videos I didn't make it that far... My very first instinct was just to go back to her early vids to try and suss out her weird accent. As gorgeous as the production quality is on her videos and as much as I love Italy, I find her accent-faking, lip-biting, endlessly-smizing EXCRUCIATING to watch. I honestly can't stand it. It doesn't surprise me at all that she's a dingbat.

There are lots of Tuscan families with "lost" titles still recognized only by local Florentines and obviously their group of friends. Private schools, Int'l schools, the families typically have more land than necessary, vineyards and uliveti/olive groves just like Guido's. Guido's family's wine and oil, though, don't seem to be as known or successful as many of his friends (i Marchesi Gondi, Vannicelli Casoni). Seems like they rely on their Villa accomodation. But he obviously socializes in certain circles and now Kylie does too as she landed on her feet yet again.

Really though! Lol. There she was, dumped and had gone home to AUS with no plans for where she would be. She evidently found another airbnb in Florence, the landlord and wife happened to be friends with Guido, et voilà. I assume it was either an airbnb or at least an apt paid in cash , because there seemed to be no issues with her up and leaving for Guido's villa in March. I doubt she was still paying rent for an apt right in Santo Spirito. And if she was, she has funds coming from somewhere as we have always been curious about. Patron money?

I found Kylie's Youtube page during the pandemic. I loved her videos and felt that she was truly talented so I subscribed to her Patreon account. Slowly around the Fall, I noticed a change, especially when her Youtube channel hit 120k. I thought it was just me, but the lip-biting, the voice change, the constant, "I'm struggling and I'm paying for all the equipment and production" became too much. The pandemic has been hard for EVERYONE, but I noticed that she was actually living her best life. She moved into her "boyfriend's villa", renovating the kitchen and bathroom, taking vacations. Then I noticed she was shooting her Chanel makeup and designer crossover bags... and I said, what a minute! I believe everyone deserves nice things, but how are you affording Chanel makeup (which I have used and know the cost) but asking people to donate to your Patreon account during a pandemic!

I know a Youtube content creator and discussed Kylie's channel and this YT creator said that she is most definitely making money from her views. A LOT of money from her views. She is also making LOTS of money from her Patreon account. I stopped my monthly donation and wrote to her telling her that she is playing a very dangerous game. She is obviously manipulating people by saying she is "struggling" when she is actually hitting probably between 15k-20k per month. I'm so happy this thread has started. I feel so bad for the other Patreons who have lost their jobs or are in a situation where money is tight that keeps donating to her. I feel that someone with character would say, "If you want or feel compelled to donate to my Patreon account, here is the link" and leave it at that. Stop the lies and bullshit.

Everything will catch up to her. Plus all the lies in the videos and articles, girl.. stop lying about your age and how long you lived in Italy. So many lies. Thank you to whoever started this thread. I hope other Patreons find this and start connecting the dots.

@London12, out of curiosity, when you wrote to K about cancelling your contribution, did she respond?

I'm slightly concerned that K. might complain to her subs. that the posters "haters" on this site are being dreadful and that they will come here and start a virtual war/fight. I have never contributed to anything like this before, and tbh, I don't think that the remarks are particularly vicious just a group of people who originally liked her work but are bemused by inconsistencies.

Yes she has always bullied anyone that questioned her or her vlogs publicly - even if they were polite and intelligent like Mica - so I thought the same, that she might send in her sub “stormtroopers” to try and attack people part of our group. But it hasn’t happened so far and I am sure we could all deal with them. K is behaving like the dictator of her own small state in Toscana

Well, I'm getting the impression she's not a very practical soul, which is also demonstrated by the problems she is now facing with the documentation needed to marry.

Another Tattler (forgive me, I can't remember who) suggested that K might have ADHD. I'm reluctant to speculate on such things too much as I am not an expert but I can see how this might be a possibility. I can also imagine that she might be on the autistic spectrum, she admits to many obsessions and also seems to be unable to "read the room" as to how she comes across. She talks about getting into a flow state when working, but attributes this to being a creative.

ETA: I want to add that I understand that the traits I mentioned above are not always associated with ADHD or autism, presented without judgment, only as a possible explanation of some of Kylie's tendencies.

We have heard him say "but Kylie" in a few discussions recently.
We know the aristocracy and nobility have no legal rights in Italy anymore but he still has social standing, social norms, responsibility and a reputation to protect. Will he allow her to embellish the truth?

Poor Guido, he already seems grumpy and a bit fed up with Kylie’s hysterical hyperbole over every minuscule discovery whether it’s a paint chip or an old bed in the attic...But as she will be speaking “her truth” I don’t think she will allow any dissent from him

If only he knew who the real Kylie Jayne is before it’s too late - she will no doubt feel much more free to let her true self out when (and if) the legal marriage documents are signed and she feels home and hosed

That is what I have wondered and why many of us also speculated she has more family money than admits. Combined with always having some hook up or another in expensive cities.

Definitely @Denise0211 That flat was an airbnb holiday rental in Trastevere and would have been a premium rental. No Italian would lease it out for much less than the market value, especially for years at a time.

Her family don’t have much money. But she has always managed to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget

Well I much more enjoyed this latest video without cloying behaviors.

Regarding the content changing, I think we all know she cannot travel much, other than it seems from one home to another and errands and shopping in between. So what is she to film? It's much better to see some activity and focus on something else rather than her sitting and pontificating. I am looking forward to seeing what she'll create in the new spaces.

Buttttt I add ... I am NOT stealing anyone's apples by enjoying a YouTube video without paying to be a Patron! That was a ridiculous suggestion by Kylie. Patreon is optional and no one should be shamed for not paying. If creators want payment from 100% of viewers, move to a subscription-only model. Good luck with that. I know some people who earn big incomes with subscription-only content (usually on closed Facebook groups). But they give, give, and give some more through teaching/educational/DIY content and people are willing to pay for that.

As Italians the pandemic has had a massive and disastrous and very personal impact on all of our lives, it has touched every part part of it. Some of my friends lived in a town in Tuscany that was one of the worst hit and there were so many dead there were coffins they were stacked up in church halls and schools. Everyone I know has a tragic story of family or friends who became terribly ill or passed away.

As soon as Covid hit, Kylie had the luxury to scarper from her flat in Florence to escape the restrictions and shack up with Guido in the luxurious confines of the family villa.

It seems very weird that her entire video output for 2020/21 addresses nothing about the pandemic that is affecting the lives of all of the people around her...Her malarkey about providing escapism and ”slow living” is a real abrogation of responsibility. She is as much a real ‘journalist’ as she is poet/artist/director/producer etc etc

I think the comment also comes across as a little bit tone deaf and that she doesn't have that much self-awareness. She references capitalism and that dolce isn't Capri on a yacht but I am pretty sure I have seen a video where she is literally on a yacht in the south of France talking about how amazing it is. Her content features luxury hotels, expensive clothes and amazing city centre apartments which I would argue are products of capitalism and the opposite of "making do with very little". Although to be fair a lot of that content was before the pandemic, but even during her "slow living" in Italy videos she is wearing expensive clothes, and is featuring acres and acres of privately owned (I assume) land and different properties which enables her to live this slow life and honestly in my opinion exudes wealth.
Kylie is also branding this as a joyous life in Italy during a time where the country is suffering terribly with people losing their loved ones, livelihoods and are locked up in tiny apartments. So I can totally see where this lady is coming from and why she would be offended as the devastating effects of Covid don't even get a mention, and so her argument doesn't hold much strength in my opinion.
