One of them is from Derry, the other two from West Belfast and their age is irrelevant. There are babies being born today who will be affected by the troubles because intergenerational trauma isn’t anecdotal.

The biggest report of its kind into intergenerational trauma in NI was completed in February and the findings were conclusive, intergenerational is widespread and affects everything from educational outcomes to health and life expectancy. We have huge legacy issues here, walls still divide parts of Belfast because our “peace” is a very fragile one. Shocked I have to point that out tbh.
Thank you. Let's not also forget the babies born in gaza also today who will grow up with the most horrific trauma to be inflicted on any human beings ever.

Children are starving to death. There are no hospitals. No doctors. They're attempting to move people again, into cages, which they will guard. They've levelled the place. It's been more than a year and a half and no end in sight. But sure, I'm the terrorist supporter.

I can’t with this thread. The ignorance and willingness of some people to excuse Israel’s actions is unbelievable.
Hurry up somebody start the fanny policing chat again before I lose my mind 🤣🤣🤣

my favourite pastime is reading the comments on posts about kneecap on Belfast live. A lot of people get really triggered by their existence. Just post after post of poor spelling, threats and people replacing full stops with union flags 🤣

They broke a law. Nobody said they were wrong. Unless the law doesn't apply to them. I wish I could break laws without fear of being arrested.
The people who make the laws break them all the time. Netanyahu is a wanted war criminal, why aren’t MPs calling for his immediate arrest instead of sending him more weapons? He can commit genocide with absolute impunity but some rap band are being investigated by terrorism police for saying words? Until someone can answer that question the whole argument about Kneecap is the biggest load of manufactured hysteria there’s ever been 🙄

I’m so glad we all live in a country where the crime rate is so low police have the time and resources to investigate things like this 😝

They claimed "kill your local MP " was taken out of context but I don't know what context that would be ok and they didn't explain in what context they meant it that would be ok

From their "apology"
"We also reject any suggestion that we would seek to incite violence against any MP or individual. Ever. An extract of footage, deliberately taken out of all context, is now being exploited and weaponised, as if it were a call to action. This distortion is not only absurd - it is a transparent effort to derail the real conversation. "
🙄
As explained earlier the context was performance. It’s hyperbole. Pomp. Banter. Peacocking. Slabbering. Carrying on.
Call it whatever you want, but you know very well they weren’t actively encouraging or compelling anyone to commit murder ffs.

You’re either pearl clutching or incredibly naive.

Have you ever told a friend you’ll kill them in the context of having a few drinks, having the craic and doing a bit of slabbering
If so- get yourself down to the police station cos you’re nothing but a criminal.

I’m not saying their comments are big, clever, particularly funny or wise, but I recognise that they mean sweet fuck all.

I’m yet to see one person who was at the gig in question say they genuinely took the comments as an incitement to murder an MP.

Presumably all of those who called for the immediate cancellation of kneecap and bob vylan for their displays of free speech at Glasto, will now be calling for the immediate disbandment of all these bonfires now and in the future? We simply cannot have two tier policing and governing…..

Lovely. I’d have rather that money wasn’t won or lost at all tbh.

Anyone able to dive in and give the missing context around ‘kill your local MP’ or support for Hezbollah, or…
Have you ever heard of hyperbole?

Hes acting like we're all sound with what Netanyahu is up to.

Personally I wouldn't support Netanyahu being allowed to play Glastonbury.

You don't get to say "kill your local MP" and then try to claim you have the higher moral ground. As far as I know Jo Cox's husband doesn't have a pro-Israel agenda to prevent them from speaking about Gaza, hes said how damaging what they said was and called out their non apology.

They've wrecked what they claim they were trying to achieve which was bringing attention to the genocide in Gaza by claiming support of terrorist groups and calling for violence.
You’re missing the point. You can’t make a comparison with Netanyahu, who is actively responsible for the murder of thousands of people and Kneecap who have…said words.

Kneecap quite literally do have the moral higher ground over that cunt.

What was non apologetic about their apology 🤣 they can’t really win can they?

This is absolutely diabolical. RAF spy planes still flying over Gaza assisting the IDF with this barbarity. This woman had a baby 6 months ago and instead of taking maternity leave she went back to work to help save the children caught up in this hell only to have her own murdered. I’m sick to the stomach.
And people who shout “Free Palestine” are extremists? Mo Chara from fucking Kneecap is a terrorist?

Just back from seeing the Bhoys in Glasgow. What a show they put on and the crowd was fantastic. Loved it every minute of it and can't wait to see them again. It's great to see people of all age groups and backgrounds at their gigs. I wasn't the oldest one there, which was a relief! 😂

The vast majority of people in NI want to move on but this narrative keeps sectarianism alive. I’m not saying it’s limited to kneecap, it happens on both sides but it’s horrific and breeds violence.
Yeah, it goes deep. The separate schooling system, the political system of power sharing and mandatory coalition, leading to numerous Stormont collapses and petty political point scoring.

It’s hard to find balance, I try my best but it’s hard not to get riled. Especially when accused or republican victimhood…. But anyway.

Recently I had a conversation with a friend who happens to be a unionist, about dual language signage in Grand Central Station, they argued Irish language was only representative of republicanism and if dual language signs were going up then there absolutely needed to be a union flag.

My response was fire away, throw it up. I couldn’t give a fuck about a flag, it doesn’t threaten me, I see union flags every day and get on with my life. That flag doesn’t represent me, I feel no affinity or loyalty to that it but can I look past it and get on with my day? Yes. It’s not difficult.

But could they accept that actually in one way or another they already speak the Irish language every single day through placenames and the language belongs to all (see Linda Ervine, Kyle Paisley and even the fucking OO)
No, total unequivocal unacceptence and denial.
Because of ‘every word spoken is a bullet’ blah blah fucking blah. A quote from what…40 years ago being used as a valid reason. And no current positive leadership on the matter from unionist politicians.
This is a really basic and what should be straightforward issue now Irish is a recognised language in NI and would bring us in line with the UK, but as usual, ‘themmuns’ want it so it’s a no from unionism.
This is one example- point scoring exists on both sides of course but fuck it’s frustrating.
