Autistic toddlers, as lovely as they are, can also be extremely challenging. It's possible that L cannot be left with anyone else at this point in time/that people on hand aren't equipped to deal with her alone. Add on a sick partner and I imagine those needs probably come into conflict often, which will cause significant issues.

Kiera mentioned on her stories that she struggled with addiction - what do people think it is? I have no idea.
I don't think she actually shared the details, only mentioned that she used to take a lot of 'the bad kind' of drugs in one of her very early YouTube videos when she was still Scarlet Saint.

ETA this is just my memory of a draw my life video or something similar, if anyone remembers anything else please correct me! She may be referring to her dermatilomania.

I know this is in the rave-about thread, but I unsubbed from her because a) she's dull now and b) she hardly ever bothers to upload. Someone recommended Cecelia Blomdahl on another thread and I've really been enjoying her videos lately. She lives in Svalbard near the North Pole and her videos are very different and well done, imo.

She is stunning. Her wedding was beautiful and baby Lana is precious. I really like her.

Yeah it was definitely realistic but I just wondered why it took her so long to get the birth story video up (because she said she was filming it 2 or 3 weeks ago now) . Almost like she was contemplating not saying she had an epidural and saying that she had the peaceful, tranquil and perfect water birth she was hoping for, I think it’s why she’s going overboard with the whole breastfeeding
I think she was just enjoying the early days of motherhood. You never get that time back. YouTube likely just wasn’t her priority, which is understandable. That’s my take, anyway :)

They were having trouble with their neighbours who was harassing them and there was a police involvement. Possibly she doesn’t feel safe there with Lana and that’s why she spends weekends with her parents?

I feel like becoming a mum has kind of overwhelmed her?? Can totally understand she'll have a lot on her plate with a baby but idk she's gotten so lazy and is kind of using it as an excuse now...
90% of her last vlog was just cut off crops of her face because she was trying to keep the baby out of shot...just put the baby down??

He did have a stable job pre-pandemic. It's been a tough year and a half for many people for many reasons and that 'sterilise the poor' attitude isn't helpful.
And which sterilise the poor attitude are you on about? It’s called making sensible decisions 🙄

It was just a couple of pics on her story! She said it was mainly due to Alex’s health issues and he was really struggling to find food that agreed with him and they finally tried meat (I think she mentioned salmon as one example) and it’s made his health better. As for herself, I think she said she’s dealing with her own food issues but didn’t go into detail
I remember him struggling with a high fibre diet when he was having his first issues (IBD if memory serves?) I can sympathise- I'm vegan myself and I eat huge amounts of fibre. It's hard to avoid on a vegan diet, frankly. Hope he's doing okay.

Honestly it just feels like she never really bothered to push herself to work cos she knew she'd be a mum one day and could get away with not working. She's already talking about being broody for another baby... girl im not sure how you can afford the one you have, as sweet though she is.

Apologies, realised this is in the Rave section so shouldnt be saying stuff like that here!

She’s not necessarily too young. Presumably she’s not been meeting her milestones and a health visitor has picked up on it and referred her for assessment. Many children slip through the net because their parents are in complete denial and think their children will suddenly become ‘normal’, they then end up in a mainstream classroom at school and can’t cope. At least this way Lana will get proper support.
No, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to imply that I didn’t think she was autistic, just that she must be displaying definite signs already at 3 for it to be quickly picked up and diagnosed, as I know many children and parents have a huge fight to get diagnosis and support from various agencies and it’s not usually until school age that a diagnosis comes.

Good god that video was depressing (although beautifully filmed). Almost felt like a mini ad for her mum’s shop/patreon. Also, I know we don’t know the ins and outs of their marriage but if my husband was so ill that he was bound to the living room floor all day there’s absolutely no way I’d be leaving him alone to go to my parents’ house every weekend. That seemed very strange

Saw Keira’s Q&A the other day. A few things I’m wondering what peoples opinions are;
- Lana is finally being let to be a child and interact with other kids- she’s going to crèche now. It’s about time!
- they’re looking at moving, good for them, if the neighbour is an a-hole
- Lana is still breastfeeding- is that usual?! Surely she should be weened and be eating solid foods by now? That to me is to keep her from growing up. How is she going to integrate into crèche if she’s looking for the boob (in Keira’s words) all of the time?
- Alex isn’t doing very well. They seem to be stuck in such a backwards rut, from an outsider’s perspective with limited view into their lives. A move might do them the world of good!
- she’s thinking of coming back to YouTube. They always do.
Biased as I’m still feeding my 3 year old but there’s nothing wrong with extended breastfeeding! She’ll definitely be eating solid foods as well.

I do like Keira and used to enjoy watching her videos but the cynic in me wonders if a lot of what she purposefully shows or implies is to drum up sympathy and keep the Patreon support going because she knows she has an audience of loyal viewers who worry about her situation, because otherwise I'm not sure it entirely makes sense, finances wise.
Hmm that is true! I feel like their parents must help out financially (or maybe inheritance?) because otherwise their lifestyle seems unattaintable, espeically with bills etc going up.

With regards to patreon, I do wonder why people support content creators. No matter how much I like an influencer I wouldn't pay monthly for extra bits of content which, lets be honest, I bet most of it is half hearted. I've toyed with the idea of buying Kiera's merch/jewellry before as I love the style but I've never committed to buying.

View attachment 2662727posted on her insta story earlier... Seems a bit odd if aimed at Alex?
Saw that and didn’t understand the point of it at all, why would you be in a full body cast? What’s going on here?? 😄
I just took it as a relatable meme; the kid always wants something from the parent who is preoccupied/up to their eyeballs/incapacitated while the other parent is widely available and sitting on their arse 😅 I don't think it was aimed at Alex specifically but like you say, bit weird if it was.

To me it sounds like maybe the neighbour had mental health issues and exploded at the smallest things. She mentioned before she was scared of making noise because they'd storm around and have a go at them.
It did seem a bit dramatic but the police are useless with neighbour disputes etc. so I'm not surprised she felt helpless

I’ve followed Kiera for a while and wasn’t sure what to expect from her when she became a mummy.
I became a first time mum 3 months before her and tbh I’ve enjoyed her content consistently. Attachment parenting may seem new and kinda extreme to some but in all honesty a baby getting a secure attachment and loving devoted childhood experience is nothing to be mad about.

I feel like she’s the sort of person who is quite attached to that particular house, so she’s probably just dealt with whatever neighbour problems have come up but unfortunately it’s escalated too much
For her kid’s safety she should try move in with her mum or something until more housing is sorted
