yum! My family are getting takeaway tonight and I was so tempted to say fuck it and join them, but I’ve held out and just got ingredients to make courgetti carbonara which I’mSO excited to try. The sugar and carb cravings are real 😩
Haha I know the feeling, I recon sugar and carb cravings will start for me too, but courgetti carbonara sounds yummy!!! I am making a lettuce wrapped burger tomorrow which I am excited to try too 😃

Starting Keto on Monday! I am so excited and reading here gives me even more motivation. I’ve put it off for months as I’ve moved back in with my mum and sister to save for a house deposit. I’m worried about always having to cook my own meals while my family have there’s and I hope they’re accepting. Going to tell them tomorrow, keep putting it off 😩
Hope it goes well when you tell them. I live with family at the moment too, but we never eat the same meals. Just be strong and tell them this is what you're going to be doing from now on :)

I was searching for some UK Keto Instagrammers and this lady is really good: https://www.instagram.com/ketoladyuk/

Dinner tonight - cauliflower cheese 🧀 I followed the Headbangers kitchen recipe but the sauce was too runny... next time only 150ml cream and more cheese instead! Also there was 9.7g carb per small portion... 🥺 I won’t add an onion if I make it again!

ETA: I used 1kg bag of cauliflower Split between 6 portions so think that’s where the rest of the carb value comes from ... damn, it’s hard to stay under 20g!

I had this as a little sweet snack earlier, a couple of squares of Godiva 90% dark chocolate with 15g peanut butter spread on top. Was actually nice like that. I can’t eat dark choc on its own quite yet.. 😋
Woooooiii that looks good. Do you have a link to recipe? I struggle with any recipes that require me to use flour as I can’t use almond flour as I have a really bad tree nut allergy.

I have 85% chocolate which I love, never thought to top with peanut butter. Deffo need to try that!!!! Do you use one in particular?

How lush does it sound! I’ve seen recipes use Macadamia nuts too which sounds even more delish. Keeps in the fridge for a good while as it’s got no dairy!

Going to do my next food shop at Iceland and it seems they have one of the best Keto food selections! (I love their frozen meat, always tastes lovely)

Here’s some of my selections...

*Cheese Coleslaw

* Mr Porky scratchings

*cauliflower rice steam bags and green rice steam bags

* salt & pepper chicken wings

*chicken and chorizo skewers

*frozen boneless chicken thighs. I always get these, make a beautiful curry

Thank you for the recipe, it looks pretty easy to make too and very lush 😋 Love your food list too, I am getting hungry just reading it! Looking forward to my food shop on Thursday even more now 😃

My wraps and bread arrived from carb zone today, will report back on how they are Sunday/Monday If you’re interested! Quite expensive so hopefully they’re worth it!
Fabulous! Yes please do let me know 🥳 Hopefully they'll be worth it 😃

Hoping someone can help (apologies if this has been mentioned already) I am vegetarian and don’t eat fish can anyone recommend a keto plan I can follow as I’m struggling to find one.
Do you have reddit? They have a vegetarian sub reddit that could be useful!

I’m on Day 9 and I’ve been the same - just eating a lot like bits of cheese, pork scratchings etc. I have read that at 3 weeks in you will become fat adapted and this is the time people start to not feel very hungry and can go longer between meals due to the way the body is now digesting everything. Fingers crossed that happens! 😂
fingers crossed indeed 😂😂🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hey I am starting keto this week I have tried a couple diets in the past, calorie deficit and slimming world. I’ve heard it can be dangerous if breastfeeding so a bit worried. Do I need to buy ketosis test strips? Also any decent foods from Tesco whilst I do my online shop? Already found a chicken and vegetable soup which is low carb
No don't worry about the strips. Just stick to under 20 net carbs per day and you will be fine. Do you plan to track calories?

Eggs, meat, fish, canned fish, cheese, cold cuts, salad leaves, vegetable (avoid higher carb ones like sweetcorn, peas and carrots), 85% chocolate, peanut butter, butter, double cream for coffee.

To be honest for the first few weeks I was just going to track carbs till I get used to things, should I be tracking calories etc?

Also any low carb recipes / alternatives for tomato ketchup? I can’t cope without it
I never found a good ketchup so made my own substitute with (homemade) mayo in a blender with a little tomato purée, Himalayan salt & a liquid sweetener. It’s not the same but the best substitute I found.

I don't really feel any different nor do I think my body looks any different either. I don't know if this "whoosh" is a real thing and your body will start to lose 2lb a week after you get past the 6 week phase. Really hoping so. It's disheartening how long it can take to lose weight.
