I feel like this today 😑
Lasagna with aubergine instead of pasta sheets and soft cheese for the sauce
Enchiladas with courgette instead of wraps-I use chicken thigh meat instead of chicken breast
Steak fajitas
Stuffed chicken

Good luck, we got this 🤘🏻
mm fajitas sound good. Doesn’t help that I need to do a shop, I’ve been living on soup because it requires no prep or effort.

Made sweet waffles today 🤤

I used..
4 eggs
Splash vanilla extract
30g Erythritol
175g peanut butter
Pinch baking powder
Bit of salt
4 squares chopped dark chocolate

I used about 1/3 of that mixture for one waffle. It was soooo good. I’m loving the keto desserts available 💃

Has anybody thought about getting a ketone blood monitor? I was looking into it, the test strips are a bit expensive which puts me off 😕 but then I hear keto’ers say ‘I can’t eat __, it puts me out of ketosis’ and I think ahh!
I’ve got a blood monitor, I got an inexpensive one and you can buy strips on eBay for £3 for 10. I don’t use it much, I hadn’t in ages until I started IF last week. Can’t find it on eBay at the moment though.

This is an old thread but the only one I can see so hopefully someone will see it! I’m on day 2 of keto and feel so rough - sick, absolutely knackered, dizzy, heavy. Just need some reassurance that this is normal and it passes…right??
Take some electrolytes xx

I did a Keto detox plan for the past 2 weeks and we decided to reward ourselves with a Domino’s this evening ... big mistake! Now in agony and feel terrible! Back to chicken and veg tomorrow!

I lost 11lb though and it hasn’t been too hard!
Wowww well done on nearly a stone lost in 2 weeks! 😱 marvelous. Were you counting calories on Keto?

I have also found a lot of recipes for cakes, cookies, fat bombs etc and they are all really good when you need that sweet fix!
Strawberries and cream is also a good sweet fix😛 and I never used to like cream!!
What apps can you recommend?

Starting tomorrow now all the birthday shit is gone, I’ve got everything in stock, looking forward to trying the courgette fritters they sound good!

I’m going to cut out all sweet stuff, personally the temptation is too much and I’ll be looking at biscuit packets checking how carbs I can swing in a day 😂 I’m also a snacker which I really need to cut out! I’m going to try and have breakfast later on in the day as I’m often not that hungry first thing and have breakfast out of habit

My parents started it in September and have lost weight. My mum also said her stomach is much better. I'm thinking of starting doing it in January as the meals they've made me since doing it I've really enjoyed. They also do intermittent fasting with it skipping breakfast

Has anyone got the carb manager cookbook that links in with the app? I don’t have a kindle and the paperback version is £15, wondering if it’s worth it.

Even though that mug cake filled me up, I fancied a little snack while I watch Jane the Virgin (obsessed with this show!) I got these pork scratchings in Sainsburys, £2 for a 6 pack, the bags are teeny though so I wouldn’t necessarily rush back to buy more yknow? I realllllly want to buy some Cheesies from Amazon, they’re in my basket waiting 😅

Morning all, I’ve just had my protein bread and had to report back, it’s great! Obviously it’s not a thick bloomer but i would say the closest thing I can Compare it to is German/rye bread, lots of seeds, the main thing is I could have my poached egg and didn’t feel like I was missing out 😁

Woood also recommend checking out the lowcarbandketobakery on Instagram 🤤
I've done several orders from LCKB, although I'm still waiting for one from April 19 and another from May 5, they're very busy at the moment.

Everything I've had has been delicious, though the cakes often arrive crumbled, not the fault of the company though, I don't think the couriers read the FRAGILE that's all over the boxes, and almond flour based cakes aren't as solid as typical cakes.

They help get you into ketosis quicker & curb hunger whilst starting keto .. I tend to have one just before I start. You can get them on eBay.

What does a typical day of meals look like for you?
Breakfast is just a coffee with lactose free milk.
I don’t get hungry until around 1pm so I’ll have a low carb high meat content burger with cheese and salad or I make tuna burgers from a can of tuna, one egg, cheese and salt & pepper which I’ll have with salad, or I make soup with broccoli, one veg stock cube and an avocado blitz it up in my nutribullet and add some cheese. Also I like courgette boats with 500g mince, mushrooms, tiny bit of onion, half a can of chopped tomatoes, one oxo cube, dash of Worcestershire sauce, scoop into courgette boats top with mozzarella then bake in the oven. The 500g mince will do my husband a large meal with pasta then I’ll have one courgette with the meat and cheese then have left over meat for lunch the following day.
Dinner is mostly chicken/cod cooked in butter/steak with just boiled cabbage, salad or cauliflower cheese made with cream and cheese.
Snacks are Dairylea triangles/pepperoni/pepperami/fridge raiders chicken/a few strawberries/small handful of cashews.

I don’t really feel overly hungry so I don’t feel as though I need to up my fats which is what the suggestion always is. I hate eggs so I don’t want to be doing any egg fasting.
Exercise is 90 mins in the gym and walking around 6/7 miles every 2 days. I drink about 3-4 litres of water a day too.

Sorry you're not well, hope it passes soon. Well done on the weight loss!

I've lost 3lbs in my first week. Not as much as I'd hoped but I can tell I've lost weight in my face and stomach. I've not felt hungry once this week which is so not like me 😂

I've been listening to a good podcast called 2 keto dudes (starting from the beginning) which has inspired me a lot.
That’s absolutely fantastic. How are you feeling in yourself?

Thanks so much. It’s hit me like a tonne of bricks but on medication thankfully x

You can get completely sugar/sweetener-free sauces etc. Hunter-gatherer or the sauce shop. I used to make my own but it's a bit fussy and those two places make great sauce.

For a snack I make scotch eggs. I wrap the egg in sausages meat and either dip in egg and use crushed pork crunch/rinds for a coating before cooking or wrap in bacon and then cook. Very filling.
Thanks I’ll have a look at those! Are they nice? I tried some sugar free ones before and they tasted a little funny to me

I’ve made similar scotch eggs wrapped in bacon and they were so good, I think it was by someone called caveman Keto 🤔 but it was a few years ago now. Might have to research because thinking about it they made a great breakfast and easy on the go!

It helps me reset. But honestly the thing with keto is it is very hard to begin with. I felt like shit at first and if I ate things like bread I would have such an upset stomach. Your body isn’t used to not having what it wants and as such you crave it more BUT... and here’s the real thing, you need to make sure you are eating enough fat in addition to cutting the carbs. I would recommend downloading carbmanager which works out exactly what your macros should be. You have to make sure that you are keeping up with all your macros in order to keep full and sustained. You need to opt for fattier meats, eat the skin, eat the rind etc. I struggle with that at times.
I use an app called cronometer which is similar but has more detail on vitamins etc. Both are great! (I started with carb manager)
