Did anyone brave her livestream?
I saw the replay. Massive last minute “last chance/buy now” energy because they were closing the online shop in order to reopen it with only the PoD stuff.
Mike had a lot to say for himself. I’m starting to dislike that one with his fucking endless happy chappy vibe. Fake. Glad to see the back of him. Mean Dean stayed out of sight and just mumbled a bit thank god. She got emotional (she said) but she didn’t cry. Probably too busy watching the cash registers spin.

She mentioned that the cottage is actually a semi detached house which wasn’t the impression given previously. I suspect estate agent spin “Stone built✨ cottage ✨ in North Yorkshire national park✨” when in fact it’s “semi detached house in rural location 🏡” - maybe I’m just a cynical bitch.

There are some you tubers I've watched he'd now for years (not travel vloggers) even if there content hasn't changed all that much I still tune in because they have actual personality. I liked Katherine's old travel vlogs because she seemed just like a normal person. Now it's all aesthetic and no substance. She likes Japan but I couldn't tell you from her vlogs if she has a favourite anime or manga, just that she thinks the characters are cute and she likes going to the 'conveeny'
Same, there are some YouTubers that I’ve watched for years but they have lost the momentum of growth which is what I meant by “shelf life”. We all have a finite amount of time to spend on the content of these people and, when personality is the main factor, if they pivot, or you do, the connection and value is more often than not diminished. Plus there are new channels popping up all the time, it seems a super risky strategy to me.

And 100% agree with everything else. I really admired her a few years ago and thought she was authentic. Guess not. 😂

Yeah. I'd also be concerned if anyone asked me if I was 'pleased/excited' on purchasing one.
I found it weird that the first thing they did was price up how much it’s worth if they sold it. All I did when I bought stuff was check the exchange rate and be like yay that’s cheap lol

I watched the full video (give me a medal) they only made 20k more last year than they did in 2020, which is not really growth when you think of how much their expenses will have gone up during this time period.

I did feel sorry for her when she was talking about how she thought she could slow down when she got pregnant.

It sums up how I feel about social media grifters. They want you to support them/give them an income through their personalities alone in some weird parasocial dependency and it’s a particularly perilous business model if you drop a faux pas. ALL YouTube personalities have a shelf life unless they pivot (to use Catherine’s latest buzz word) WITH their demographic, eg Pewdiepie from gamer to internet celebrity to wholesome family man. Frankly, at this stage, I can’t see Catherine’s audience pivoting with her.

what these grifters don’t understand is that producing content in itself isn’t giving anything to the viewer. It’s like the sticker on an apple. It tells you what it’s about but you bin it and forget about it. The content itself has to be of value to the viewer or they’ll spend their time elsewhere. That doesn’t mean providing them with a long list of consumerist balls, either.

What exactly is she offering viewers long term?

And to give your husbands brother the power of attorney? Bit of a high risk strategy if she ever ran into problems with Dean. Him and Mike could wipe her out. Why not choose a member of your own family?

Right? I don't think she even realises. I liked those Florida vlogs because they were more the way I would eat. Lots of snacks and small portions, on the go but not this huge huge focus on food. It felt like how I did my trips to Disney.

She's just like any other vlogger now, obsessed with food rather than enjoying it along the way.

Also catching up on the DisneySea vlog and dying at Dean singing along to the monorail music, then the camera pans over to him and he instantly stops, the light leaves his eyes and he looks really worried/annoyed. I would NEVER put my partner on camera if this is how they so clearly felt about it. It's cringe, he thinks it's cringe- stop filming him 😬

Watching this is so frustrating. They've done no research at all. Rocked up expecting to be able to walk on every ride. Missed parades. Booked into things in different parks....this is like the total opposite of my first trip with my fella. We saw and did loads and I actually put a lot of effort into making sure we made the most of it. We were still able to relax plenty but this shit is just lazy.....

I don’t know what she thinks she brings as a “personal brand”? Now she’s not building a studio business, she is honestly just like every other narcissistic influencer. Way to kill off your only USP.

Also, I was quite shocked at how poor her traditional art attempt was in that insta post. I guess digital assists really do hide skill (or lack of).

Im assuming some of you guys may be creatives and lot of artists don’t realise, but when you use apps from companies like Adobe, in the T&Cs you agree to them scraping your content for AI and they have some kind of shared rights over it.

I’m not sure about Procreate, but Photoshop definitely.

I think it maybe also happens on Insta, a lot of creators are going over to Cara. Heads up if it is your livelihood 👀

That vlog was so annoying. She did zero research and then tried to make the vlog all dramatic about all the issues they were having. Nearly all those issues were actually due to bad planning.

How surprised are we that this last minute, life-upending decision to close her shop and move out of two studios simultaneously isn't going smoothly?

And, for an illustrator, she sure doesn't realize how badly her lip liner and lipstick clashes. It doesn't match at all! It's purple liner!

I just came here to post this!

She's out sourcing the manufacturing and saving money on not having 'a studio'. How can she still have The brother and Dean work for her from home........where will they store the stock?
They will go print on demand and have warehouses in China keep and ship the product.

Hang on a minute… Ashleigh is the director of an equine equipment supplier that used to be in Mike’s name. They dissolved the company in his name and started the same business up again in her name under a different brand. There is stuff going on here, does he mention any of this in that vlog? If not then wool is being pulled over viewers eyes.
