Yes it is an unpopular opinion because if you watch Kate you will see that Rikki is the laziest person, very irritating and butts in and tries to embarass her in every video. As soon as she started YouTube properly he quit his job so he absolutely jumped at the chance - because he is lazy. Yes I have said he should ‘provide’ before because surely it’s not a guaranteed income and if social media all goes to shit, they don’t even have his job to fall back on. I think it’s embarrassing that he is so happy to just live off of her and he does not bring any income to the home. She should be enjoying maternity leave, but is doing ADs etc to still provide for her family. And as someone said if he hates working that much, he could at least do volunteering of some sort
I think your opinion is unpopular too. Why is it so ingrained in us that we all have to work, even when we don’t need to, in order to be valid human beings?

Maybe Ricky does all of the school runs / cleaning etc and that’s his role. And anyway, spending an hour filming a video to support their family isn’t exactly hard work for Kate. Having R home gives her plenty of time to do it, so I think that’s a moot point.

She barely posts anymore so you really have no insight into their dynamic anymore to be so determined he is lazy anyway. There are things to criticise them for but this is kinda silly imo.

I agree with every comment about her. She’s so bloody lazy and does nothing. This new house has been a complete flop.,. She could have done a Kerry whelpdale and shown every step of the renovation journey but for her everything has to be insta perfect…

she only ever posts just before an ad due to boost engagement!

even the pregnancy has been really flat.

I hate influencer culture too.. she’s definitely been gifted those uniforms for the Ad, there are so many people who could do with uniforms gifted to take off some pressure with everything rising… but no let’s gift it to someone that doesn’t need it whatsoever 🙄 makes me feel ill

Although not my ‘type’ I don’t think he’s that much of an ogre 😆 I agree about them being evenly matched too tbh

I see instead of her husband getting an actual job she’s back positive regular videos when her baby is only weeks old 🙃

Could she not gift someone those uggs she's selling on depop? Maybe they are desperate for cash..
Yeah I thought the same- these influencers are so fuckin greedy. Spend a fortune on clothes and holidays and eating out and spamming their followers with ads for money then got the cheek to try and get £100 for her second hand shoes 🙈

This what I was thinking and searched to see if there was a thread for her. I think it’s shocking to gift rush people expensive items and think that entices custom. It just makes me revolted and avoid that brand. It’s in such poor taste these days. I just want this whole phase of influenza’s to F off and go back to work like the rest of us 🤣

EDIT Rich not rush 🙄
Snap I did the same!! I really wish the influencers bubble will burst!! How much money they must get to both not have to work have a massive house etc!! It makes me so angry im a nurse and I work my arse off and she prob gets paid triple what I get!!

I think she once joked that she had worked in Homebase or B&Q for 2 weeks before she quit. Disgusting that she was scoffing at how she hated it and so she quit. As if it was beneath her. She probably did more work in those 2 weeks than she generally does in a year in the 'job' she has now.

I do think it’s pure laziness on his part. He probably jumped at the chance to stop working as he seems the type. Wouldn’t you want to keep yourself in a career, even if it was just part time?

Neither of them strike me as particularly happy, her pregnancy announcement and all stories since have just felt really flat. I don’t watch her vlogs but it really doesn’t surprise me that people mention how much rikki talks over her as I can see it on her Instagram. I doubt he even does much worthwhile him being at home, it seems to be her dad doing their house up. So does rikki just sit on the PlayStation all day aside from the school run? Personally I think it would make for a boring life and I’m a stay at home mum. I’d really resent my partner/husband if they didn’t do much to warrant being at home. I’m sure once the baby arrives, it’ll be nice to not be rushing for school everyday but equally I’d want to do it all 🤷🏼‍♀️ My mum had 4 children and while I can’t begin to imagine how hard it was, she’s so proud that she did it!

My issue with both of them is neither of them seem to do ANYTHING. Even if Rikki didn't work but Kate was churning out consistent content then I could understand she could be seen as working 'full time' although at home, so most of the childcare and cleaning would fall on him. But she's not?

She's lazy and barely puts out content. I understand not everyone wants to be a mummy vlogger but she has no niche - she's certainly not known for her 'hacks' despite the book, her fashion sense is fast fashion at its best and her house is bland.

She could at least be pushing out baby videos, showing some sort of effort, especially as although there's lots of pregnant YouTubers at the moment (lily pebbles, Anna has just given birth, Zoella) none of them seem to have capitalised on it really...

Used to really like her but absolutely sick to death of her stupid AD’s. Every post, every video nothing is genuine or in the moment they are all #ad for show 🤦🏼‍♀️

I couldn’t work out how to quote from the last thread into this new one but wanted to comment on the following:

“I also think the know the gender of this baby and it's another boy. I know she miscarried last year, but neither one of them seem all that enthusiastic about this new baby. Which is odd to me. I know people who have miscarried and had stillbirths. They tend to be overly cautious about all the medical stuff but still very excited at the prospect of a new child. These two just seem so...meh about the whole thing.”

As someone who has personally experienced stillbirth, and who knows many others who have or who have had miscarriages, I have to say that pregnancy after loss is immeasurably and unimaginably hard. Everyone deals with these things differently but I don’t find it surprising in the slightest that they are not jumping for joy before baby arrives safe and sound. My pregnancy post loss was the most difficult time in my life. Many never truly believe their next baby will make it. I do believe them when they say they’re not bothered about the sex of their baby - they just want a baby in their arms.
I so agree with you. I had a healthy but prem twin birth followed by miscarriage, neonatal loss and another miscarriage. When I was pregnant for the final time I didn’t tell a soul other than my husband and sister until I was 26 weeks (god knows how I hid it!) as I was terrified of things going wrong. Same with the sex, I had really wanted a girl with the baby who died but deliberately wouldn’t ask the sex as I didn’t want to be disappointed if it was a boy as I knew that once the baby arrived I would be happy no matter what. Then when we lost him it polarised it even more that the sex REALLY didn’t matter. I don’t particularly like Kate but entirely understand where she is coming from with this.

So on her Instagram yesterday she said she had worked out he was a boy by the nub theory etc
Wonder if that’s why she was a bit flat as she was “disappointed” it wasn’t a girl

Someone please tell me why these two bone idle people who contribute nothing to society are currently enjoying the luxury of deciding on the finishing touches to their newly built kitchen!? A moment which for most people is an accomplishment following absolutely years of day in day out hard work, careful saving and sacrifices to their lifestyles.

It makes me utterly sick watching them living like this off the back of a couple of low effort photographs or videos uploaded now and then, all of which have whatever advert they can scrounge attached regardless of whether they would ever actually buy the product themselves.

Also, in my opinion, considering the appalling level of work these two grown adults do whilst their older children are at school for the FULL school day, FIVE days a week and they have joint responsibility for a baby who naps and plays, I would jolly well expect the kitchen they are sharing with their viewers in their recent reel to be in as clean and tidy a condition as they can achieve. The content they are making is after all their main source of income and their one and only job. They should have scrubbed that kitchen clean for that reel. I could've produced a better quality reel than that with my husband at work, two kids running riot through my house whilst cooking dinner and answering work emails on the side.

How is this person still being offered sponsorships anyway? The amount of views, likes and general engagement with followers is embarrassingly low. I noticed on the recent Ariel ad on Instagram that there were five comments, two of which were fellow influencers and one was Channel Mum itself who got her the deal in the first place. It comes to something when Channel Mum are having to comment to boost engagement ratings.

I wouldn't be surprised if Channel Mum drop her soon. All of her social media channels are doing abysmally. They can't be gaining much anymore from having her on board surely?

I think her current anxiety and state of depression has a lot to do with the hole she has dug herself. She is the sole provider for that family and has foolishly taken on a hugely expensive mortgage for a house which was as highly priced as it could realistically get for the location it is in and then added even more debt by greedily following through with unnecessary renovations. Her biggest downfall of all however, has been her inability to see the devastating impact her minimal effort towards her content would have in the long-term. Her engagement with followers is the key to the continual success of her career as an influencer and she has offered so little over the past couple of years that despite having a healthy number of followers, very few of them even notice or care about the content she is creating for them now.

She most likely has the growing fear that she may no longer have a job in this industry and then what will they do? I assume that neither of them have much to offer in the real world of work that will pay the wages required to cover the costs of their current lifestyle? What an awful worry to carry around with you. No wonder she is not able to make the smallest of decisions without breaking into a state of panic.

Maybe once they are in a smaller house with no time (or money) to spare to fix it up due to actually having to earn their graft through real work that makes them tired and takes them away from their children, they will be cleansed of their lazy ways?
Think Ricky was an electrician but may be wrong. Her poor dad must be wrecked doing all her carpentry work. I'd tell her to piss off. He did loads in her other house then they just sold it. She's never satisfied, thought now she had her precious kitchen island she'd be content but no. I think the fact she had another boy too when she clearly wants a girl hasn't helped.
