The whole price list is overpriced and scammy as duck. I can get gait analysis for free from my local specialist running shop if I buy shoes there or from my physio as part of a specialist running assessment for cheaper than that.
That's the thing, he's not qualified in giving an analysis either!!

Keen to know why he has the Adidas Runners logo on his website

Well who needs a CIRF when you can just copy and paste some plans? Surely a Microsoft Office basic training course should cover all the qualifications they need?

I need to get on this coaching gig…I’ve got a LiRF and can copy and paste stuff off the internet 🤦‍♀️ he’s such a tool. Fortunately no one at my club is tempted because we’re northern and tight fisted 😂 it’s hard enough getting club subs from them

Online running coaching needs to be regulated like the beauty industry is about too! How can you train people if you are not qualified, people can end up with injuries etc

the tool is now posting pictures of himself when he photobombed Kipchoge in Berlin at the start line of the marathon

(Not that it is necessary BUT you’d hope your coach had done more than a LiRF)
LIRF (Level 1 Run leader) Self guided online course (approx half a day) is required to lead single sessions.
CIRF (Level 2 Run Coach) 4 day in person course Is required to coach athletes (including the planning of training for athletes).

From England Athletics CIRF page..
'When qualified you will be insured to coach without supervision.'

I interpret this to mean, if you're a LIRF, you're qualified/insured to lead single sessions, if you're a CIRF you're insured/qualified to coach an athlete and therefore call yourself a running coach.

If Bester only qualified as a CIRF 2 months or so ago, he's been misrepresenting himself to clients as a running coach, when he would only have been qualified to lead single sessions, not set individual training plans for athletes.

Unfortunately (if you ask me) there is no requirement to have any qualification though.
I've got both (and some others come to that) and in my club, a LiRF is just that - someone who can lead a group, and is indemnified on insurance to do so because of the LiRF.
To be fair, we've got people wtih CiRFs who are pretty useless but they don't pretend to be one-to-one coaches, don't charge anyone, and when I say useless I mean more just can't be arsed, which, when you are an unpaid volunteer, is sort of fair enough I guess!

God that coach line up - do any of them even have their CIRF? (Not that it is necessary BUT you’d hope your coach had done more than a LiRF and some good PBS for £200 a month…)

Also Sam who has been out with a stress fracture for 6 months and Anya with red-s…great adverts for taking their own advice
No but they are fast so they’re GOALS 😭😭😭 joking, it infuriates me so much!!! definition of irresponsible coaching.

I just when to that page and read

ANYA'S STORY
READ MORE

I am the biggest evangelist for running.

OMG, seriuosly?

and why they charge more if the copy and paste comes from Bester or Anya or the others??

And then they charge 10 pounds per month for the "running club", but I don't think they do sessions if you are not paying the coaching...

Fortunately no one at my club is tempted because we’re northern and tight fisted 😂 it’s hard enough getting club subs from them
My heat (and my wallet) is definitively northerner

“This progression is down to three things, hard work, a personalised professional training plan and the support from my coach.”

Anya you forgot natural ability and that you lost your period in the process. a training plan and supportive coach wouldn’t get me that time, implying anyone can with their overpriced “coaching” is disingenuous.

I hate that statement she’s made so much. It just continues the narrative that anyone can achieve results like that by just paying them enough money 😕 and the sad thing is that it works!

Big jumps in time like that are generally a case of people not running to their full potential for whatever reason, not an indication of what was actually possible for them in their first marathon, yet a new runner probably isn’t going to know that!

exactly, but this is how IG works. Some odd runner improves to a great level, and starts selling the idea "if I can, you can too, pay me money"

Practically every single run he has some sap filming him
The newest sap is this Jake lad. I followed him in the pandemic for whatever reason, no idea why, he was doing hours of running and training for an ultra and just seems like he's another little gif trying to push his way into Bester and places like Puresports because he's jumped on a bandwagon and purchased an expensive camera that requires no skill to take photos (even though his are terrible most of the time) and is trying to be another Jerry Sun and all those other photographers getting used by people like Bester for only his gain

Oh my gosh the body scan - what is the point of all that!!!!
Does Nick promote DEXA scans for his numerous female athletes that he coaches (meaning 100mile+ weeks, no rest days) to the point of hypothalamic amenorrhoea and stress fractures? Or just for him to obsess over his own body large %? 🤔🤔🤔

What a massive bellend he is. He’s been to a barber and paid to have the Adidas logo shaved into the side of his head, like some 13 year old in the 90’s.
I also see he shared a story of the guy who is going to Spain just to film this bleep running. Literally has his own cameraman.
Nick, Captain Bester or whatever the duck you deign to anoint yourself: you are a massive wick. Stop getting people to treat you like you are special. You are not. You don’t need people to follow you and get in other peoples way for your crappy boomshakalaka “content”. Now give people a refund and leave the cut and paste function alone.
