John Barrowman

It's time the BBC or someone did an expose on itv. It's very clear they are covering up bad behaviour to protect their 'happy family' approach
The tabloids would have a field day if he was still on Doctor Who or Torchwood but they rely too much on ITV for content to make too big a deal out of this. And re: Barrowman, it was the execs employed by BBC Wales that let him get away with his 'horseplay' in the first place.

Yes, just seen that. His tv career is over in Great Britain.
Not necessarily unfortunately. This is ITVs take on it….

He will still appear on upcoming special episodes of the ITV show All Star Musicals.

A spokesperson for ITV said: “We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the Dancing on Ice panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.”

Interesting that “This Morning” did a feature today on flashers and how very often this could lead to more serious sexual assaults. Now I’m not saying for 1 minute that JB is in that category but given the news he was dropped yesterday and then this today, I’m amazed nobody has brought this up.

They might be putting that out, but we will see....

I truly hope he doesn’t get invited back to doctor who once RTD takes over again. I think they were good friends? Not sure if they still are. But obviously Captain Jacks character was a huge deal for the RTD era of doctor who. I wonder if the bbc have said no to having him back after all this flashing scandal. I think it’s quite telling that none of his former cast mates from DW or torchwood said anything in his defence..

Saw him on Lorraine this morning, trying to weasel his way back. Sorry, but serial willy-showers aren't welcome anymore mate. Having said that, if we got rid of everyone with 'issues' from commercial TV we'd only have, er ... who WOULD we have left? LOL. James Martin? He seems alright.

Thing is...there is no explanation for getting your fool out in the work place, or anywhere outside your own home/hotel etc. It's never been acceptable in society for hundreds of years. Flashing hasn't suddenly become illegal. Trying to normalise it and explain it away is frankly bizarre. Did you get your fool out on set? Yes. There is no further context needed. There is no excuse

IIRC he claims that the Scottish accent is his real accent and the American one he starting using as a kid because he was at school in the US and didn't want to be bullied.

Morning all

How very strange with the accent. As others have said whenever I’ve heard him speak he’s had an American accent, showbiz type, now it’s Scottish? There must be a reason.

I read about his interview yesterday and saw the beginning of the video today. I think the interview is not helpful. If he just apologises and says it was wrong maybe that would be the end of the matter but for him it’s ‘context’ and the fact it was 15 years ago and already been talked about.

I don’t think there is any justifiable reason for showing your willy at work whether that’s part of your personality or trying to relax people. What would he say if it was a woman dropping her knickers? The fact nobody complained at the time, he says anyway, yes, people do change their stance on things. There are things today we do not tolerate which years ago were popular. I suppose this could be to do with the PC culture but in this respect it’s just common sense.

The thing that made me a bit cross. He almost implies people are trying to stifle who he is ie gay and again that’s got nothing to do with it.

I have never been a fan he’s too OTT for me and his jazz hands persona but I admit he was good on kids TV. However I’m not sure this latest story has done him any favours.

Showing your bits in a workplace setting, unless it is part of your work (I.e filming a nude scene) is never acceptable. Even if somebody like him or his acolytes think it is hilarious, somebody else working on set with no power might well be disgusted. The guy’s obsessed with his gob, like a lot of blokes, and thinks that everybody wants to see it.

Sorry probably replied to the wrong post. I thought he’d been sacked from Dancing on Ice but he said in the Lorraine interview he couldn’t do it as it clashed with a new programme he’s doing. How very convenient!
