We watched The Reckoning this week. Thought it was absolutely brilliant, Steve Coogan did a job and a half portraying Saville.
Really struggled to get through it though, it was a very hard and uncomfortable watch. Debated whether to go back and finish it. Hubby in particular had to get up and leave the room at points.
Growing up, born mid 80s, JS always freaked me out. Always. I hated Jim’ll Fix It with his white He-Man hair. Hubby on the other hand, born late 70s, wrote into him twice asking for stuff

Plus visits to Pinderfields and Haut de La Garene. At least half his victims aren’t here to tell their story IMO. He prayed on the weak.
Yes agree- I watched & he definitely only did the charity work to gain access to more victims! He never atoned for anything he did EVER

This all seems unbelievable when you look back on it. And these were supposedly enlightened times, not that long ago, really.
There were other people enabling this creep but nobody talks about them or investigates why. At least, it seems this way. I'd hardly call Jimmy Savile an intimidating personality, he was pretty much a cartoon character with a self-aggrandising nature. A bit of a Billy bull.

Quite a few people jumping in after Twiggster's post with snide comments. Reminds me of a certain forum member on here and their nasty responses to my comments re Brand over the years.
Savile and Brand are psychopaths - and I'm sure that both feel that their charity work (Savile) and being a spiritual guru (Brand) cancelled/cancels out their crimes.

Apparently the finger crossing was. No idea about the money.
I have heard several times that he died with his fingers crossed but no mention of the cash.

IIRC he was buried in Yorkshire.
