I also remember Savile saying he asked his mam why she'd hit him a certain time (when he didn't think he'd actually done anything wrong) as a little boy, and she said "I wish I'd hit you harder!". Says a lot about her attitude towards him.That article hints at that I think but not sure. As Dotty said, she never gave him much attention and he was mostly ignored. So strange that she would never watch him on tv or acknowledge his accomplishments.

It does. I often wonder if she saw something in him or knew things about him (possibly at an early age) that made her think he was a wrong ‘un. In the few clips I’ve seen of her, she speaks almost apologetically about him.
I'm of the mind Kitty was used by James and others as a lure for younger children and some older men (one of the Krays if memory serves) to abuse.

It’s actually very similar to other narcissists transcripts I’ve seen. They take the conversation off into the areas they want to talk about.
He repeats and repeats the same things “women throw themselves at me, I’ve never needed to try, why would I bother with some girl” and “I raise money for charity, not to brag I’m just a good guy” and “it’s a posh girl borstal” aka these are scumbags except they have rich parents, so they might not appear to be the average rum, but they are.

Yes, very true. He’s constantly deflecting and using that tactic to boost his image at the same time. He’s actually talking in circles for the whole interview and most of his answers don’t even make sense. Like what the heck is he on about here:

It’s just “oh sometimes things can go wrong” but what he’s doing by wittering on, he’s controlling that conversation. He’s bigging himself up, showing he is reasonable, he gets accusations against him (he’s aligning the Dunmore complainants with Broadmoor patients, something he does a few times). He wants the police to think “he’s open and honest, didn’t need a lawyer, had a good chat, no side to him. Ignore those complaints, what even were they?“

Absolutely bizarre but very calculated at the same time.
When the police asked him if he was attracted to children, he said: “I’m not attracted to them at all, and that’s why I’ve never got married anyway…” Those two things are completely unrelated; it’s just bonkers.
I used to know a guy (narcissist and an abuser) who did exactly this; he would talk in circles when he’d been caught out, to confuse people and try to control the situation. Evil, evil people.
I think it’s a type of NLP Neurolinguistic Programmin, I must look into it.

No, not seen it, but my husband recorded 'Jimmy Savile: The People Who Knew' for me last night, so I'll be watching it at some point over the next few days.
It’s very insightful and gives a great breakdown of his behaviour in what is probably one of his most awkward and creepy interviews.
On the one hand, if that was actually run by him I'll be surprised, but on the other I also wouldn't put it past him.
I think someone mentioned it wasn't actually him and someone else had made the account.
So, just a thought, do we think Philthy Schofield met James in his early days working as tea boy at the BBC? You'd think he must of really? If that is really James twitter, I am getting a sense he knew of Philth's predilections. Also now remembering how Philthy spoke to that woman on This Morning negating her re James and how he would never of taken a child off in his car iirc. Which we now know he often used his transport to abuse girls. I'll catch up with the vids later.
