Do you mind telling us the context of the messaging to the hotels because I’d definitely start doing this too. I really want to start pulling them up on this
Yup! I specifically tell them that I'm a previous guest/customer and very disappointed and annoyed to see influencers getting a freebie. I make the point that I stayed for X occasion, I work hard for my money and I remember my stay. The influencer in question will be staying in another hotel in a few weeks and won't remember their stay, but I'll remember that they were given it and specifically won't stay there again on the back of it. And that this is poor marketing.

I talked about this with my friend group recently and some of them have started doing it too. I'm so sick of handing over hundreds of euro - literally hours of my life and labour to stay in a very expensive hotel, when they're experiencing a huge demand for bookings. I'm pissed off with Irish hospitality for the price gouging after Covid tbh

If I'm not mistaken she has a degree in psychology which she studied before pursuing pharmacy, so she's highly educated and has lots of knowledge of how the mind works. However,as much as all EDs are different, they all boil down to control. I recall one of the Gogglebox Ireland ladies (Aine?) was on TV recently and spoke of her ED. She's now in recovery for many years, thank goodness. She said she masked her ED as a lifestyle of 'healthy diet and exercise' and I couldn't stop thinking about Jess. I hope she takes as much time out as she needs, once her studies are done.
I have a degree and a masters (in different fields) and wouldn’t consider myself “highly educated” in either field . It wasn’t until I started working that I learned anything. I just don’t think a degree translates to knowledge tbh (for many people)

Every holiday she burns herself to a crisp, her chest is glowing red 😭
And she'll be on next week giving her pharmacy talks about the importance of SPF and showing La Roche Posay Anthelios range, or whatever is there in the pharmacy.

I see Joanna Cooper has a pic on insta now with dessert saying 2 spoons! I think if Jess had the same pic on insta she’d get torn for it! She had spoken about her ED before so now everyone jumps on her for it! I only started following her around the time of her wedding cos I was getting married too and I’ve never noticed anything about her food issues until I read here! I’d generally presume that the food skinny instagramers (or anyone) are showing online isn’t being eaten! So sue me does it too but people only focus on what she’s drinking!! Jess just seems to get a lot more stick for it!
Jess has stated she has issues with restricting food and over exercising. But yet the excessive amount of food she shares is ridiculous, she claims to be loving the food etc. she also shares her daily workouts even now while on holidays she’s sharing her workouts, this is so triggering for anyone with an ED. It’s completely unrealistic to have her body while claiming she’s eating all that food.
I’ve a friend who competed in a body competition and the food restriction and diet she had for weeks to have a body just like Jess. She had very little fat on her body. Jess’ account is toxic, she clearly has major issues and is being dishonest and is spewing all this toxic positivity while making a fortune. You cannot compare one picture Joanna cooper shared to Jess’ endless amount of food and workout crap.

Just so ye all know she's going to the races on the coin of an extremely wealthy couple from Cork. The gentleman in that couple is flying them to the Galway races in a helicopter and I'd say he's slapped the hotel price tag on the company slab. It's a bit rude of her not to post a picture of the two to thank them for their generosity. The cork couple are no fools, they'd notice that kind of thing. I've liked Jess til now but it's a bit much to take people for a ride like this without a mention of them. The least she could do is be transparent about it or thank them. I'm sure it would mean the world to them to for them both to be mentioned on her story.
If theyre paying for a dose like her - maybe they are fools? 🙈

It was so passive aggressive with the ethics reminder 😂😂
In case anyone has fallen for the sweetness and light demeanor, that post should put an end to it. She's an arrogant, passive aggressive narcissist and I'd walk straight out of any pharmacy with my prescription if I saw her behind the counter.*
*Unlikely to ever happen, as she hardly ever works.

I had to unfollow her. Her instagram makes for uncomfortable viewing. She is clearly anorexic, and “ eats” all this food. Find her content highly triggering, speaking as someone who has experienced years of disorder eating.

Someone asked Joanna about how diet and exercise last week in question box she said she had no medical training etc so she wasnt going to go into specific details other than it helped being naturally slim. She said influencers use lighting, take bikini pics first thing in the morning and suck their tummies in so they look great. She has told her followers she uses botox. Joanna is very slim but looks healthy with it and seems a happy contented person. Joanna does not ram exercise and obsessive food content down our throats. Sharing a desert with her boyfriend is a lot more honest than look at the mountains of food I consume every day while not putting any weight on.

Jess it’s not ok for most people if ‘they sleep in’ cause they have kids, jobs, things to do. Not writing in journals and going to gym, nails or coffees to be drunk.

I have never seen a pharmacist with a crop top and leather joggings on while getting a prescription! I find the dynamic odd between her and Kearney seems very cold and business like..no newly married bubble. You don't have to manically journal every morning..you can just grab a slice of toast, fire an instant coffee you made into you as you run out the door realising your late again. Have something from the hot food counter for lunch. Get a chippy for tea cos you can't be arsed cooking and snuggle up to your other half who loves you for being you. Just a thought Jess.

She looks so much older than 28 too. I read an article today in the times about toxic positivity and thought of her also. It said things like “those who constantly promote positivity often find it hard to deal with bad times” . Don’t get me wrong, sometimes a motivating/ positive quote is nice to see, but she clearly spends hours and hours practicing positivity and searching quotes. It’s unnatural to have to force it so much if you get me!

She has the body of someone who is competing in a fitness competition. And they have to restrict their diet and train hard to maintain it for competition. They also lose their periods and Jess has previously touched on this happening to her and also on her being restrictive with her diet and her life.
We don’t know if she eats the food, we don’t know if she vomits it up but what we do know is it’s completely unrealistic and very dangerous to be highlighting this lifestyle while not being completely honest. Her toxic positivity is draining and it’s all a show.

How pathetic is that answer. What you mean Jess is you’ll advertise anything if the price is right 😂 Also “work colleagues” you need to actually work somewhere to have these!
And it’s so obvious she sent all the other questions in herself. She should advertise for specsavers because who ever thinks she has great style needs to visit them 😂😂😂
It was so passive aggressive with the ethics reminder 😂😂

Just unfollowed 😬 I'm on a few threads and I found this thread to be very sympathetic and gentle toward Jess (in comparison to other threads ) so I commend everyone that's Contributing here. I don't thankfully have a ED but sympathise completely with anyone that does. I'm just a size 14/16 single mom working part time with 3 kids and kinda went on a following spree of "healthy influencers" to kind of re brand myself . I don't think Jess is the market I'm looking for, I hope she gets help though. Sorry for the speil x

Ffs if I hear anymore about these “influencers” and their journals/journaling. No normal person has time for such nonsense. It’s just like “oh look even when I have free time I am still a massive geebag”

Yeah I have to say so worrying that teenagers are absorbing this type of content (1) the toxic positive manifesting shit - you know the “if you just work hard enough you can do anything” - no, acknowledge your privilege, there are kids out there that face structural and socio-economic barriers to attending college/going down a professional route like pharmacy and (2) the orthorexic “clean” eating, as if she eats even one bite of those brownies or plant based chocolate! Up to now, I’ve rolled my eyes and tapped through, but to see evidence that impressionable teenagers actually hero worship her, no that’s just seriously harmful
It's really interesting, I read earlier on the thread someone saying she gets grief about her well off background but it's missing the point. She can't help being born rich but she had the means to pay over 10k a year for rcs without having to work a part time job or pay back loans or even the stress of where she was going to find the money. Then comes on and complains about having to work a few days on placement before jetting off on a holiday to recoup like it's so tone deaf it's ridiculous. To be aware of her issues with food and then take pictures of her skeletal frame and sucking in her stomach took the biscuit for me, she absolutely knows what she's doing and that's why I can't stand her!
