So a heap of people who bought raffle tickets (which didn't come cheap) never even got entered into the raffle???
NFW.
Not a great promotion for the restaurant when transmissions are through the roof. I’m starting to see what everyone else has been seeing. Something so so distasteful about asking people to donate to keep you alive while you’ve a £1k YSL bag swinging off your shoulder.
Yep! Couldn’t agree more.
She’s completely selfish and self-centred. Neither of them work, they are living a very high fluent lifestyle. She’s not making any sacrifices in her lifestyle at all to cover the costs of this much needed medication, clearly has an expectation that it’s the responsibility of the community to fund her medical needs.
if it was me I’d put absolutely everything I had into staying alive, not begging for more and more.
her attitude disgusts me.
id be curious how much is kept back from the fundraiser to cover expenses and how much she actually shares out.

Yep, this lunch with her just goes to show what a Z-List celeb she thinks she is.
Aye.... This always made me feel a bit odd. Lunch with a seriously sick woman? I genuinely don't see the appeal I'd be terrified to go near her in case I was carrying anything her poor immune system couldn't handle!
She's running it like a BPerfect event it just seems weird.

I see no problem with what she is doing. She’s raising money to extend her life so she can spend more time with her young children.

I believe she’s also donated money to help others as well. Happy to be proven wrong though.
I don’t like the fact that some people can’t attend the event due to covid reasons and she should be encouraging people not to attend if they’re covid positive or close contacts but yet won’t refund the money to them but still wants to sell their seats again.. I don’t think that’s on!

Yes

Yes! They had numbers on them! It’s a special level of evil to pull apart a sick woman ffs
I don't think anyone is here to pull apart a sick woman...people are simply questioning how this draw was done and how everything was regulated.....not one person on here would wish I'll health on anyone!

Fully aware this isn’t a rave thread but I think Jem looks stunning.

To add though I find the lunch with her weird but I find all the local influencers who do things like this really weird. I’d rather have lunch with my mum than the local Z listers.

ETA I don’t donate to any go fund type things from Instagram. I was burned once before when I donated to a girl from Liverpool who was “diagnosed” with cancer. Certainly not saying this is Jem at all! However this story has made me question a lot that I see online.

There is doubt that she does look stunning, but it is hard to keep up with the designer clothes, handbags, shoes, makeup, lashes, fancy dinners and 5 star hotel stays....all while she still has a go fund me page open and is constantly fundraising for more money.....

Not a mask in sight at the lunch event....
For someone suffering from cancer and with cases being so high, you would think she would be encouraging people to be a bit more careful.....

⬆ This, has hit the nail on the head.
I too donated to her GFM my heart broke thinking about those poor babies.
however, she’s turned into a train wreck now, and how dare anyone say anything against her. She’s manipulating people and playing on their good nature, whilst showing off her designer purchases. If I was in her position which I pray I never am, I’d be spending every moment with my babies not flouncing away for weekends in fancy hotels, bragging about my designer purchases, and generally showing off. Less time talking to a phone and giving my kids some memories of me.
she’s her priorities all wrong. It’s like she’s using her diagnosis as a business venture.
I came across her accidentally and my heart broke for her. No one knows what’s in front of them and I wish her well and hopefully her life is prolonged to see her kids grow up.
Then the thing with all of these GFM and sad stories is that they nearly all go the same way and think they are celebs. They then get this superiority complex and feel they are owed something and that sense of entitlement starts to turn people off. I don’t know what I’d do if I was in that position but I know I would be mortified asking people for money and at times I feel she demands that the meds are to be paid for while actively spending money. Maybe some people that can’t attend the big lunch can afford to get raffle tickets in lieu of refund but I’m sure there are some that can’t and it may be the difference between paying a bill or feeding their family if they are sick with covid. That’s really stuck with me. Will be interesting to see how today pans out.

I do feel like this thread as short as it is, is gonna get scooped pretty quickly and spoke about. Every comment so far is extremely sympathetic naturally of the awful situation they are in but people are obviously allowed to have the opinion but it'll be considered the wrong one. I fully expect to get shit for it..
Yeah I don’t expect it to last long.. anyone who has a platform should be allowed to be spoke about as if you message them about anything you’re a troll

Im glad someone else picked up on this...I was annoyed when she was so vocal saying a while back how awful it was that Omagh Care for Cancer hadnt even been in touch. As if to say...do they not know who I am?
Correct me if I am wrong but is it not normally the patient/client who reaches out to a charity and not the other way around? I doubt they keep tabs on everyone with cancer in the area? That sounds awful insensitive of me I know but I assume that's how you would go about it?

It did rub me up the wrong way too as I've had family rely on a local cancer charity and they were a god send, BUT you had to reach out to them.

In the spirit of what she’s trying to raise money for if I had bought a ticket and couldn’t attend I wouldn’t expect (nor want) my money back and I’d be happy for her to resell my ticket to raise more money. I appreciate however not everyone has the money to throw away.

I see her bed was gifted. I refuse to use companies that also exploit someone for their own gain.

I hope Jemma’s scan goes well today.
This is a very good point. Never thought about it like this.
It’s actually disgusting what these companies are doing. The fact they are giving discount codes they are essentially using her platform as a terminally Ill cancer patient to try to sell their products. And she’s happy to do it as she’s receiving all this free stuff!

There’s going to be more lunch’s with Jemhow! 😂 As long as there are idiots buying into her bull, she will milk it!
What did she need the hospice healing house built for if she’s so well to attend daily dinners out drinks events etc . Imagine that house built on hospice grounds, children could benefit .

I just can't believe there were no steps taken towards covid safety at that event at all......
No social distancing....squashed into the place like sardines....not a mask in site, not even staff were wearing masks....and people coming from all over and slobbering all over the top of one another.....I'm by no means a covid freak or whatever you wanna call it, and I know people need to get on with it and have a good time, but if I was a cancer sufferer and had a lowered immune system from all the treatment, I'd be wanting to take as many steps as possible to keep myself safe, and others too....... especially considering cases are skyrocketing at the minute....

The girl is living her best life, she probably doesn’t have much time left. If social media fame, fancy dresses & enjoying herself makes her last year or so happy. I say let the girl be happy & live her last days the way she chooses. I don’t think she should be made to feel guilty or bad about it.

It feels like she has spent the whole day today trying to justify the points we have made here. Next she might explain how she funded her hot tub purchased within weeks of the GFM.

Totally agreed. I hope I am never in her situation and I genuinely feel so sorry for her after her diagnosis/prognosis. I myself donated to her GFM at the start and have been following her ever since to see how her journey was going, but was shocked when she decided to take half the country to Mexico with her and turn it into a 5 star holiday for them.......if it was me I'd be spending the bare minimum on flights and hotels etc to ensure I definitely had enough for treatments.....
And recently she seems to think she is some high profile celebrity...wanting the best of everything, but expecting it all for free because she is unwell.....
Her GFM is still open and people are still donating, but no sign of her heading back to Mexico for further treatments or no sign of her donating the money to others in need......it seems to be all about the designer clothes, handbags etc, not about spending time with her kids and making memories....even when she is going her videos while doing her makeup you can clearly hear her kids crying for her in the background, but instead of cutting the video short and going to them, she will close the door and carry on......it seems to be more about Instagram fame and money, than her health and family which should be most important....
I'll get a pile of backlash for this now, but like I say I'm totally sympathetic to her situation and prognosis, but she seems to have her priorities all wrong.
Yep, this lunch with her just goes to show what a Z-List celeb she thinks she is.

Her husband also bought her a pair of £1000 YSL shoes only a few weeks ago. She said she needs to pay £900 a week for her meds from Mexico - surely the money for the shoes would be better spent trying to prolong your wife’s life.
Probably thought they'd get it back through donations, did you see the girl brid or whatever she's called has been on asking people to do monthly direct debits?
I'm all for paying for different treatments what aren't on the NHS, but there's a beautiful little girl called Chloe

That poor child has neuroblastoma pretty much all her life, as you see in the link, her family were constantly asking for donations, nearly a million I think over all.
Anyways, that poor child has been in the states, pretty much any medical place what happily took the donation money. But I just seen on there Instagram that she's on her last days now and that's broke my heart.
Definitely all for trying different treatments, but in the end, is it really worth the hundreds and thousands of pounds?
From what you can tell, her parents definitely used all the money towards treatments and not on designer things anyways.
Very, very sad, hearts breaking for her and her parents at this point.
If you read as well, her parents pretty much laid out all the costs what was going where etc, I even donated.
I think that's what she and Lyndsey should be doing, let's people understand, instead of just going into hiding and giving no exact answers, no wonder people are starting to question.

Sorry to derail, but I think it just shows how different people handle fundraising.

Watching the stories, didn’t think it was possible to squeeze the words I, I, I and Me, Me, Me into so many sentences.

The venue is owned by one of her relatives who I’m sure benefitted greatly out of the day too. (Although with so many free loading instagrammers under the one roof they probably paid for very little!) I see one of them stole a goody bag 😂

Ok so to give everyone a bit of background and to explain my feeling towards this.-

I have been following this from the very start and it is no surprise how it has panned out. Although Jemma’s diagnosis has been very unfortunate and wouldn’t wish it on anybody. It was apparent to anybody that knew her that this would turn into a money racket. Jemmas sole motivation from a very young age has only ever been money.

The Gofundme page was started to enable Jemma to quickly gather the money needed to get her to Mexico for her treatment. Her original target was £50,000 which due to the kindness of Irish people was hit within hours!

Although Jemma’s target was smashed, she encouraged people to keep donating as any extra money raised was going to be used to help other sick mothers get to Mexico for life saving treatment. The money kept pouring in and within a few days had reached £150,000!

Jemma went to Mexico bringing 7 other people with her, flew business class and stayed in 5 Star hotels along the way (if I was travelling with other peoples money I’d be trying to cut costs). She spent 3 weeks in Mexico receiving all sorts of treatment and documented everything on Instagram.

When Jemma got home from Mexico the story quickly changed. The money wasn't going to be used for other mothers. It was to be used to get herself back to Mexico in October! It is now January and theres no sign anymore of any trips to Mexico but she is still relentlessly fundraising.

People locally have been questioning this for months. It appears that fundraising for herself has been starting to slow down which has now meant that she has had to use two other charities to try to squeeze more. Who is monitoring this? Who knows what percentage of funds are going to each charity? Any money being received is going directly into a personal bank account or paypal.

I would have alot more respect for this if it was being organised by a registered charity who were then distributing the funds equally to each cause.

Also doesnt help when she is constantly walking around designer boutiques, showing off her new flooring, wallpaper, beds, kitchen, childrens play area, tarmacced driveway and spending every weekend at a different 5 star hotel. Now theres a poor woman in Donegal running an appeal for £5 per month to go towards her fund!

Jem and husband have both recently left jobs on bad terms due to dishonesty. This is fairly common knowledge locally and im sure anyone who has previously worked with them will back it up.

Husband has since started working with a friend, Jemma has gone self employed selling cars from home. Conveniently her 'healing house' which was donated to her also doubles up as a handy office.
I have to agree with all of this. Watching her on Instagram, I just do not find her to be completely genuine, she comes across too sweetness and light, but then the odd time lets her guard drop and another Gemma comes out.
The whole thing is questionable. And yes, the constant glamour days out, hotel stays, clothing is too much to watch. And me saying this is no slight on her health situation. Unfortunately people all over the world receive bad health news.
