100% Brandon is the missing link in all of this. There was a report of a disturbance that morning so it’s not beyond the realm of doubt that it’s possibly Jay and Brandon that’s had a bust up.

I think the night before is when the watch was stolen. I’m sure Lucy confirmed to Hayley comet in a message that there was a watch stolen but it wasn’t that night.

Well he doesn't look shifty at all does he . It's been a long time since I studied psychology and body language but I remember the touching of the mouth can mean that you're pacifying yourself regarding what's coming out of your mouth.

ETA I don't think he knows exactly what happened to Jay but I do think there's a lot of other stuff surrounding that weekend that he's party to.
