That photo and while back with the 3 lads standing on the barrier stones by the road, is that anywhere near the spot he was found? Some of that road must be by the clifftops.
Think that's probably one of the viewpoint where most people take their photos?
Whatever state he was in, absolutely pished/paranoid, did he not leave the AirBnB and head up the road instead of down? His phone call to his friend, he said he could hear the gravelly sound because of he was off-road. He said he didn't sound worried (so maybe he was like aye
duck it, I'm leaving). Clearly not thinking straight. I really do think when he phone Lucy and said he couldn't go back it was because he was lost and had gone too far. He was further down in ropey terrain and realised he wasn't going to get out without rope/being rescued.
The drone footage of the supposed area where he was found, it doesn't mean he necessarily felt from the top, does it? He may have been lower down, realised how stuck he was and tried to climb back up.
Or it could have just been that he took a wrong step somewhere further back, the ground was softer than he expected (because it's volcanic rock) and slipped and then eventually fell over a steep edge. It's such a huge and jaggy drop, he may have lost his footing and seriously tumbled (like falling down stairs).
Whatever caused him to leave instead of staying with his friends is what bothers me the most.
I genuinely have friends who at that age would be like, "
duck it, we can walk".
duck, I've walked from the city centre cause I couldn't get home to my village town and didn't want to stay with the people I was out with. I was even stopped by police because they had seen me hours before and spoken to me. They gave me a short lift home (I was then 5 minutes away) when they realised I had in fact walked myself the entire way home from chatting to me earlier.
That was on main roads and I was 16/17.the thought of my kids doing that now puts the fear up me, anything could have happened.
Although the fact it said 11 hours, I'm too lazy (drunk or not) to make that journey. He must have decided he could find a shortcut. There is a reason the roads and structures are where they are.
If only he had stayed with his friends or stayed and charged his phone.
