Blimey, that footage is scary. No wonder they took so long to find him.

From what I understand he fell from the top?

It will be very telling if his body had the watch with it or not.

Also how do bottles of water stop dogs peeing on your doorstep?

I found it interesting that the police wouldn't confirm if the watch was with him.

There may be other investigations still ongoing eg into the drugs etc on the strip so why would the GC show their hand by even mentioning it?

It is one scary place
Shame DTR isn't still there to do a tiktok of Jay's last footsteps..... The barrancos are harsh af. This was never going to end well if he left the road or the hiking path to the beach.

Sorrys about your sons friend. Ther was an autopsy in Spain but I do wonder if there will be one in the UK at Debbies request. It seems she doesn't trust Spanish police hence no thanks for them.
Thank you it is very sad 😥
Yes me too, you would want to make absolutely sure there was no foul play and it was simply an accident. There must have been some truth in all the rumours flying around

So did he fall from where they are standing into the bushes or from the top?

Sorry I'm late to the party. Followed story from day 1 but needed some adult conversation 😉
What upsets me about the GFM is my sons friend is desperately trying to raise funds for life saving treatment abroad. He needs 30k. He managed the first 15 in a couple of weeks but since just dribs and drabs every now and again. I understand it's not high profile like 'Beggy's' but wish people would show the same compassion to causes like his which could really help. Some people are just foolish with their money

Because I am late and can't be bothered reading all the threads but has it been confirmed if there will be an autopsy once Jay gets back to the UK or are they accepting it was an accident?
Nobody knows because the family only ever do an update to beg for more money never to update about their son

Yeah I was more shocked when I saw that footage. Anyone in their right mind would know that wouldn't be the way to go. I think if I was stuck lost like that I'd just stay put and wait for help. I'd probably just lay on the ground knowing friends would alert the autorities. I wouldn't dare carry on it's so rocky.
What non of us know , is what kind of person Jay was. in the past , I worked with young people with emotional and behaviour difficulties, lots had ADHD. Those young people were very prone to huge risk taking behaviour and don’t always see danger.
so, I’m only guessing , and might be very wrong here. But , if The drugs thing is correct, that could be a further pointer towards risk taking behaviours. And of the watch/ or theft thing has any basis, then it begins to make sense to me.
the young people I worked with, a few have died very young due to what I described, others are in the prison system., and some are now parents , living decent lives.

I suppose you'd have to live in Oswaldtwistle at the moment to know what's really happening and indeed what really happened out in Tenerife it will be talk of the town for months to come and it will come out eventually.

That video or where he fell is insane. There is no way he got anywhere near that thinking he'd get back to his hotel that way.

My husband thinks he was taken there. Maybe after robbing the watch, the people he'd upset took him as part of a trap under the guise of selling the watch but really it was to give him a good beating, probably more.
If you look on google earth and compare with the daily mail map of Masca and the ravine, there is one track which ends abruptly that is directly connected to the ravine that he was found in. A car could have taken him down there. Once there he's managed to escape those who have taken him there by running down the steep areas but then realised he cant get back up. He's then forced to keep seeking lower and lower ground to get down to the coast where he hoped it would be flat, like the beaches near his hotel.
However it gets more and more treacherous until he falls.

I know exactly the type of people who are still donating to Jay's fund. The sort of people who've always got the money for the energy drink in their hand, or their latest lip filler top-ups, but always have an excuse when my kids school is short on parental contributions for school trips.

They always appreciate anyone who is "sticking it to the man", ie, anyone who they deem to have been given a hard time by the authorities, be it the police, doctors, schools, etc. Truth is they are all too stupid to actually understand what's going on and will never accept that theirs or their family member's actions are usually the root cause of the situations in which they find themselves. They are always part of some big conspiracy where everything is stacked against them. Birds of a feather flock together, so the ones who donate to stuff like this are also of the same mentality. "Oooh he were a good boy".

Exactly. People donating to the go fund me have no appreciation of the value of money. They expect everything handed to them.

I do completely understand and agree however unless he dropped a pill directly before leaving the air b&b which would make him trip the timescales suggested would allow time for him to be coming down and there’s generally a complete misunderstanding of the effect of other party drugs and the level of inhibition they give. If Ayubs account is true and he went straight to bed - Jay was in there for around an hour with an hours car journey there…I don’t know but the theory he was off his head so wandered off is possible but in my opinion unlikely.

Even wrecked he’s been sober enough to report being injured on the phone so knows he’s been hurt. That to me shows some level of being lucid. To then CONTINUE getting hurt through that terrain? Seeing that video above I struggle to see how he could have made the decision to continue on such a dangerous path while already being aware he was injured.

He knew when he called Lucy cut up from a cactus and where the phone ping was (which is somewhere between 30-60 mins walk from where he was actually found) he was injured and if he turned round at that point and retraced his steps he’d be hopping straight on a bus instead of a supposed 9-10 hour walk. But he decided not to??

I do think it’s possible, I just think it’s unlikely.

Edit to clarify - what I’m saying is I don’t think it’s likely he’s done it SOLELY because he was under the influence. I believe other factors have contributed to his decision making.

If he had been taken there by a third party and left there or subjected to a beating or something, wouldn't he have mentioned this to Lucy during the phone call?
