Insular Jacksnob can fuck off about croissants as well. They are a great easy soft food (not the artisan flaky type though) for children with oral aversion, sensitive gag reflex or selective eating. Also practical to take on day trips as well as soft Pain Au Chocolat. They have been a lifesaver for my child with feeding issues. We get ours from Aldi. Also there are versions of the croissant in other European countries and it's a breakfast staple in Italy and Austria too. For someone with mixed heritage, she is not very open minded.
