So I grew up with Harry Potter but it somehow passed my husband by. So last year, when the films appeared on Netflix for a while I watched them with him. He never read the books. But what I found was happening was I had to keep explaining what was happening and who these random chracters were. Like Tonks, Wormtail, etc, because they are just suddenly in and no real backstory. Because I guess the films limit the time they have to ease characters in and explain them and some end up being 2-dimentional, and the same for the lore, it gets explained too basically or quickly in some cases.

What I am looking forward to in the series is:

-better character development and backstory
-better and fuller lore explanation
-Peeves and more of the ghosts floating about
-more time with characters
-more time for emotional effect on audience
-more of the mundane interactions in the quiet chapters like when the characters can relax.
-more of Hogwarts
-slower season changes at Hogwarts

And more...

The films cut out so much and as a result of the terrible acting from the main trio it was a bit hammy. Even though the first 3 films I like, the rest werea bit mehhhh for me.

I really want more of Voldemort. You never find out why he’s so bad from the films. The half blood prince is my favourite book.

Damn you’re right. I didn’t think of that but he’d be great! Maybe a bit young? Since the first riddle is 15/16 years old?
He is 16 already! (man I feel old)

He's the right age to do this as 15 y old Voldy, then in a few years in the Half blood prince series he would be the right age to play Voldy when he
works for Borgin and Burkes and he's going around making the horcruxes (and kills his Dad \ the Gaunt's)

This has infuriated me so much seeing this pop up on Instagram this morning as I’m having my morning cup of tea 😡

Also , it really annoys me when her name is mispronounced when she’s constantly since 1997 had to correct people to it’s being pronounced like Rolling.

So he's - "Just give me the money and I'll compromise every principle I have. I just want the money. Also the popularity. And I don't want to upset the loons as I take this money and bask in the adulation of the fans. Money and hero=worship is why I'm taking the role to become a well-loved HP figure, and at the same time complaining about the author's views on trans, and yet simultaneously saying that some of the things she says have been twisted but blaming her for causing her own problems by "doubling down" on them". (ie not backing off and apologising for stating her views in a non-judegemental or prejudicial way.)

What a snake! I've lost all respect for John LithGOW.

JL can get in the sea. Don’t like JK’s respect and views about safeguarding women? Don’t profit by appearing in her work then.
Personally I think Tom Felton had the right approach by stating clearly that JKR has bought so much joy to the world with HP and this is needed.

I liked that he also acknowledged how much he has personally benefitted from being cast as Draco in childhood and how that was down to JKR. Something Daniel, Emma and Rupert would do well to remember.

He was always a better actor than them, too. Did more with his small role than they managed in 7 movies.
As opposed to Radcliffe who's one emotion was wide eyed and clearly couldn't cry onscreen, as they went to lengths to disguise every movie, to hilarious degrees (shot from under invisibility cloak! Extreme pan out to crowd shot! Hidden under Ginny's shoulder!)

Lithgow typically hasn't looked below the surface and has swallowed the anti trans rhetoric without actually looking into what she said and why she's campaigned for women's rights. That bleeping interviewer is a moron too.

I'd be glad if they sacked him now and replaced him with someone else.

It would be lovely! ♥

What I'd love to see is JKR wielding her power and anyone who bites the hand that feeds them goes without their dinner.

She is a kinder and more tolerant person than this large Shedmouse, I can tell you! I'd have it written into contracts that they could think anything they liked, but one word - written or spoken - detrimental to the author, the production, the dialogue, the costumes, the casting or the screenplay, and they'd be out so fast they'd leave skid marks on the floor of the set! and could whistle for their fee! They could keep their nasty comments until after the film was finished, and they were released from their contracts and could say what they wanted.

And yes - I know it's apparently curbing free speech etc, but any and every organisation has the right to "release" staff who bring the company into disrepute or criticise it publicly (when it is obeying the law in every respect and isn't harming anyone). All of this would be made very clear at an early stage - ie when they were first invited to consider the part, and if they found the conditions too onerous they would be perfectly at liberty to say. "No thank you. I would mutilate my own child's genitals before I would consider taking loads of cash from such an intransigent bigot!"

See how firm their principles were then.

I totally agree. Many people in the real world have lost their jobs after criticising their company or their boss online. I'm not particularly enamoured with my own employers but not stupid enough to go online and talk about it.

All the actors should be asked not to criticise JK and to keep their opinions to themselves whilst they are in the show. I'm tired of hearing the opinions of celebrities anyway. It's fine for them to talk about their roles but stop with the grandstanding on politics etc.

I see Andrew Garfield's trying to get a little press for his Enid Blyton cashgrab. (Every time I think of him, I remember that Secret Celebrity Gossip post about how his flatmate said he didn't wash his bed sheets for six months.)

Like I said before I hope it makes her millions, people seem to forget that Jk is keeping people from all walks of life in work keeping the industry and publishing world going folk forget just how big a part she is playing with Harry Potter in many ways folk don’t think or know about, and she pays her taxes never mind the behind the scene stuff she does quietly without notice I wish her health to enjoy it all go girl go. △⃒⃘lways ⚯͛△⃒⃘Ϟ❾
I love her name is front and centre on the series, nothing like these idiots who try and take her name off the covers.
