I think the new cast sounds absolutely amazing, and I am looking forward to listening to it all over again, without having to put up with Stephen Fry!

I got the later books on Audible earlier this year as was convinced that I wouldn’t be interested in the new versions…well I was wrong about that! 😂
I’m sure I’ll end up restarting my membership too!

I can't find Jim Dale's version as an Audible download but a quick Google suggests that it was done for the US market and Stephen Bloody Fry for the UK. Can anyone confirm that? I'm not sure if I can download Audible from Amazon US?

Apparently Jim Dale holds records for the numbers of different character voices that he creates for a single book. I only know him from Carry On; didn't realise he was such a talented man.

There is a Jim Dale CD on Amazon UK for £42!

Has anyone seen or listened to the Jay Shetty podcast or seen the clips doing the rounds of Emma Watson’s appearance and what she said about Jo ?.

That first clip I posted has been deleted on X. Here’s some other clips of the parts talking about Jo.

Emma Watson can duck off on her entitled fan , sitting on the asthmatic pit-pony that she rode in on, and keep bleeping going.

Indeed.

So from her comments we learn that:

a) The wind has changed.

b). Work is drying up.

c). Her (what was it? - English Lit? Creative Writing? Screeen Writing? 🤔 ) course is proving harder work than she thought because she is as talentless a writer as she is an actor, and they expect her to actually put in the work.

d). All of the above.

I think she has started to realize that her virtue signalling didn’t get her any jobs. Work has been dry for quite some time for her.
Wasn’t she moaning about not being “consulted” for the series only a few months ago? Because we all need her interpretation of a character she didn’t invent and acted rather badly most of the time. She is probably seething, looking at how well Tom Felton is doing. He never threw JKR under the bus.

Emma Watson always comes across to me like a posh girl who thinks everyone and almost every job is beneath her.

I don’t like Daniel Radcliffe but he’s carved out a niche for himself doing indie and stage stuff. Tom has remained loyal to HP and done well from it. Matthew Lewis has happily moved to tv and is due to star in a new series that is likely to do well. Emma has bitched and preached and hung around with the awful Green family and ruined several well loved characters on screen. Not hugely surprising her star is waning.

I think Emma has definitely seen the tide has turned, but I think that there is also the realisation that she is quickly going to become irrelevant.

She is female and 35 in an industry that values youth (especially for women). The new HP tv show is going to centre a new bright young thing in her place - one who is likely going to be better at it. By the time the last series finishes, Arabella will be in her early 20s, while Emma will be mid-late 40s. ‘Old Hermione’ won’t be of much interest.

Apparently the blue haired people on Bluesky are now cancelling Emma Watson because she didn’t say JKR is a Nazi witch queen from hell who deserves to die.

LOL. Love to see it. Nothing is ever good enough for these people.

The minute I saw that tweet, I knew her end had come!

I wonder if EW has partially seen the light now that she's getting older (she's my age), maybe less young TRAs and BlueHairs are fawning over her, maybe she's witnessed women being mistreated by TRAs and is starting to think 2+2 doesn't equal 5, but is not quite ready to admit it to herself. Maybe as her star is waning she's missing what Mama JK actually provided for her on a silver platter.

But alas I think she's trying to hedge her bet.

She's unlikeable and selfish, she's had cars towed because she blocked car park entrance, she doesn't seem to gel with co-stars (cough Little Women cough) and hangs around with rich billionaires and talking weirdly about self-partnering instead of just saying oh I am single, then dangling on the arm of rich boys again.

I honestly don't know what she's going to do with herself in the next 20 years because she seems aimless. And to think I was jealous of her when I was like 12.

EW has no intellect and no backbone, she will happily parrot any old twaddle that she thinks makes her on the 'right side of history'. I doubt whether she's ever really had an independent thought or opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if her management have told her to soften towards JKR as the tide is turning and her workflow is non existent. Either way, she will piss a lot of people off.
