I dont think its JK Rowling who is falling victim to an anti trans tunnel vision though. Trans issues arent actually the only issue she talks about, she is also still writing other books, and involved in further Hogwarts films....isnt there a new one out with Dumbledore happily coming out as Gay in it? Its Fantastic Beasts 3. The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Sadly because she is one of the few people willing and with the platform to say anything....maybe yes she is being used to promote or illustrate a pre conceived tunnel vision.....from anyone ....who has stopped reading or refering to all the actual facts.

However.... if you accept that a resolution to the issue of transgenderism is unlikely and difficult to find.... maybe you should also be able to realise why some people become so defensive! Some Women are feeling massively threatened........, as well as having to face abuse and dismissal from work and careers and police harrassment, just for their (legitmate) gender beliefs. so maybe these feelings also need to be addressed, as well as those of transgender individuals!

She talks about woman's rights
She advocates for trans rights especially those of children
She points out the lunacy of referring to woman rapists by Police Scotland. In England in 6 years there where 432 woman labelled as rapists
She receives violent threats from men
She receives rape threats from men
She receives death threats from men

She is not a victim and she is not following an anti trans tunnel........to even do that she would have to be anti trans something she has never been despite the outcry that she is largely from men. I myself as a man support the stance JK has taken in support of Woman's rights.

I want to say one thing unrelated to the trans issue. JKR now gets a load of shit for "racism" in the books ie names of minority characters (Cho Chang Kingsley Shacklebolt). I really think people need to remember that the first HP book was published in 1997 and back then there was hardly any representation of people of colour in children's books. As a WOC myself, I remember as a child when I read the books specifically noticing and appreciating the fact there were multiple characters she specifically stated were black. That just didn't happen in other books at the time. This whole "thing" we have these days of revisiting work and nitpicking over every tiny element of it really hacks me off. Society evolves. People's opinions change. When I was at school in the early 00s for example it was totally normal to use "gay" sparingly as an insult ie "oh that's so gay". I would NEVER say that now because I know that it isn't OK, but back then I did. These days people are tripping up not to offend each other - there's no room to learn and to grow, just relentless criticism if you get it wrong.

As for the anti semitism claims, if you look at fictional goblins who run a bank and immediately think "jews", I'd say the problem is yours, not JKR's. A massive, massive theme in HP series is prejudice and showing how wrong it is to treat others differently. I honestly find it distressing that, because she's dared to speak up for women, every single tiny part of her books is being ripped to shreds.

Just thinking more about the pics of JKR having lunch, it seems some men hate seeing women gathering together in support of one another, where they don't need men to participate or "help" or "lead". Same as centuries past, women together seen as witchy covens.

They can't stand the idea that JKR has friends. They can't stand that butch lesbians don't confirm to the trans ideology because their gender ideology is incredibly stereotypical.

Women having lunch together makes silly comedians cry, women having lunch together makes egotistical TRAs angry. Women assembling scares them. Women thriving, having fun, succeeding without the input of men scares them. What to they then revert to? Insults about appearance and age. Misogynistic asshats.

I really don't think people care that much about her to be honest. She is a one trick pony. Harry Potter is all she is known for and I think Daniel Radcliffe is a bit old to be playing a school boy now.

Apart from the HP books, it’s clear she will be remembered as the most well known author to stand up for women’s rights, kids with gender dysphoria and lesbians at a time when hardly anyone dared.
That will ensure she’s seen as the most fearless feminist of our generation.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was another, but not so mainstream an author, though highly respected. Thankfully these women are too big to cancel, and now so many others have been encouraged to speak the truth as well.

Continuing on from last thread, all I will say is if am going receive a ton of hate because I want to enjoy a game based on the WORLD she's created and has had nothing to do with her since she's had no involvement what so ever with it then it's honestly going start to push a wedge in between me actually accepting trans

I've never had any problems, an I know the majority of trans (ones that have went full transision) just want to live their life in peace which yes they should be allowed that, but the problem is coming from the minority now, the ones that have no desire to even transision an just flick back an forth however they please, it's going be them that's going to end up forcing this wedge where people are going to end up hating ALL trans because its these clowns that are the ones who voices are being heard and are spouting off hate if you don't agree with what THEY want, they are forcing us not to be allowed our own opinions because there's no protection over you when you have been branded as transphobic compared to all the protection you want if you say someone has been transphobic to you even if they actually haven't

I feel sorry for the majority of trans who want to live a quiet life who are now being portrayed by these kind who to me are not even real trans, I do not nor will I even class people who just want to call themselves a different sex as trans, trans to me is a transision from one to the next an not a name to be freely used an thrown about as you please

An I also feel sorry for the ones that truely love JKs world like me who are too fearful to speak out about the new game for fear of being attacked or even just speak about HP in generally because they do not know if the other person will attack them or not, i LOVE hp but even I now myself am unsure if I can talk about it to someone I don't know too well because I don't know if am going be attacked or not, but I will definitely be buying the game an I know am going to love it, am also going to the studios next month an I cannot wait for it, an the fact that the studios are still selling out dates means the love is still as strong as ever regardless of these trolls trying to take it down

I went right off jkr when she used her massive platform to slate Corbyn, along with many rich and famous people, I believe a big part of the anti Corbyn movement was because he was insistent that rich people pay their taxes fairly and honestly.
So I really hated her but since she's spoken out in support of women and girl only spaces she's gone up in my estimation.
I have no problem with how people choose to identify but I have a great problem accepting that some men are using this as a reason to enter into safe spaces and making women and girls feel vulnerable or actually vulnerable.
It also makes a mockery of people who are genuinely transitioned/ transitioning and just want to get in with their lives.
I think the authorities and politicians have really lost control of the situation and it's been massively abused.

She in turn was attacked by his supporters stating it was because she was worried about paying more tax. It was pointed out to them that as a resident of Scotland she is subject to income tax set here which is higher for her than in England. Whilst other rich people might have slated Corbyn due to the fear of higher taxes this was not JKRs reason.

Here seems like a good place to mention that the charity Mermaids is being investigated by the charity commission for a multitude of things, not least of all sending chest binders to children without their parents knowledge or permission.
Truly, who would have thought the charity run by a woman who took her minor son to Thailand for irreversible sex reassignment surgery would run an organisation that doesn't properly safeguard the wellbeing of children?

I appreciate that JKR has stuck her neck out over this issue. She has power and is using it to help protect sex based women's rights. I have no problem with however an adult wishes to present regardless of their sex but as we all seem to agree that sex cannot be changed then I think it is only right that sex based spaces, sports, rights and services are preserved for that sex regardless of which stereotype they wish to present as, that's irrelevant when it comes to sex based rights. Women have been oppressed, exploited and harmed as a result of there sex not because they wear a dress, have long hair or are called Susie, no it is because they are the female sex and that cannot be altered, a male can not become female or vice versa. Trans identifying People should not be harmed or discriminated against but the demands of a small minority of people should not overrule the needs of a whole sex of people to feel safe, to have equality, their own spaces and so on.
