Strange she didn't think it was psoriasis etc but this is what Betacap is for:
Betacap Scalp Application is for use on the scalp to treat skin diseases including psoriasis (scaly, pink patches of thickened skin) and seborrhoeic dermatitis (scaly, itchy patches of skin).
I did think this at one point but my partner checks my scalp regularly and it’s not head lice. Are you sure its not head lice? I'm not being rude but anyone can get them and they are very itchy. Can someone look through your hair for you? No one on here can say really as it could be 100s of things. I'd just go to the Drs they are starting seeing people again now.X
Was going to suggest Nizoral too. I don't get dandruff but sometimes get an itchy scalp and it's a life saver. Can sometimes get it a bit cheaper on ebay too.Nizoral might be worth a shot. You can get it from pharmacies. It says it’s for dandruff but it’s good for itchy scalps too.
To be honest I think it's a cop out from the doctor. That’s interesting as I’ve got thick hair and get an itchy scalp but always assume it’s the shampoo and change to another. I don’t get the hot scalp though. I wonder why thick hair causes it?!
It's honestly driving me insane, I'm kicking myself that I didn't go to the doctor before covid startedCould it be an allergic reaction to a certain hair product or maybe a form of dermatitis? A doctor would be able to prescribe a medicated shampoo to help or other treatment if it’s caused by something else. Hope you get it sorted soon, must be so irritating x
I won't touch Pantene, Tresemme or Head & Shoulders as they are all so bad for your hair.I can't use certain shampoos as I have sensitive skin on my scalp. Pantene is the worst and makes it burn and itch.
That’s interesting as I’ve got thick hair and get an itchy scalp but always assume it’s the shampoo and change to another. I don’t get the hot scalp though. I wonder why thick hair causes it?!I went to the doctors yesterday so she could examine my scalp
She said she couldn't see any signs of 'disease' so doesn't think it's eczema or psoriasis etc but that it's probably because I have thick hairI've had thick hair all of my life and never had any scalp issues
I've been prescribed a treatment with a steroid in it to use twice a day for 2 weeks, sorry can't remember the name of it as it was out of stock in the pharmacy so I am going back today to collect it. She said it can only be used for 2 weeks as it thins your skin so that sounds promising
The doctor said if the treatment she's given me doesn't work she's going to give me Dandrazol to try![]()
