Grandmother's evidence
Honourable Ms Justice Norton is telling the jury that they are about to watch a police video interview of Claire Walker, Alexandra's mother, recorded following the death of her granddaughter Isabelle.
She explains to them that it is not unusual for a witness to give evidence in this manner and not in a written statement.
The jury hears how Walker's stepfather, Dan Ackroyd, will also give evidence in this style.

11:31am25/06/26
Medical help
Walker can be heard on the phone to her mother, Claire, saying Isabelle 'has broke nowt' and she intends to keep giving her medicine to ease the pain.

Thank you for posting these, it’s very helpful to understand what’s being said as so much is missed in the summary articles. The poor stepdad walking in to find Isabelle like that. He must’ve felt like slapping that stupid woman.

I find that hard to believe as it seems as if Walker wanted to drink/party etc with the new bf. So why wouldn’t she want the babies father to share custody?

Unless he's also an abuser? And that’s why she had the cctv in the first place?
Interested to hear these details as the trial progresses.
Because they didn’t want anyone else to see signs of abuse and raise the alarm, presumably.

Also, it says that CCTV caught her cutting herself with a knife on her arms and was going to claim Simpson did it whilst she was drunk etc. So I am not sure if she was actually abused by the father’s dad or was it a lie? Obviously don’t want to diminish it if she was. She’s lied so much to her about Isabelle’s state, it’s hard to see if it’s the truth.
If you have been a victim on domestic abuse, how are you not able to see that your child is being abused?? You’d be more protective and overly so?

Whether she was a victim of domestic abuse, she’s allowed a stranger abuse her daughter in the most vicious way. Of course her mum is going to throw Isabelle’s dad under the bus to protect her daughter.

Even if he wasn’t around much (he does have selfies of him and Isabelle on his Facebook and she seemed happy be in his company, compared to the constant crying with her new boyfriend), plenty of single mothers don’t abuse or allow their kids to be abused and eventually killed by their new boyfriends.

There are photos of Isabelle with her cousin (?) that has died a year or so before. I’d not got to the bit about SS. So bleeping infuriating that this is going on. Don’t have kids if you don’t want to look after them. You don’t have to abuse them. Hand them in to somebody. Normal folk would rather you abandon them, than kill them 😤.

"When Isabelle came in the state she was in, she was covered in bruising," she said. "A tube was put in place to relieve pressure from stomach but we were pulling off blood - we knew we were dealing with a child that had suffered significant trauma.

"She was covered top to toe in bruises, including the genital area and mole."

Why was this not stopped then? If this was noted at the hospital.

She died with significant bruising to her stomach, I think? The grandmother noticed it when she was in her care, and that bruising to her tina and mole was apparent at death. Was that not when blue lighted to hospital and subsequnetly died?

Poor little thing.

This was the final time she came in when she was dying.

The previous time she had a broken leg and bruising but was awake and okay otherwise. That time it seems like she threatened the nurse who made the safeguarding referral, and instead of that raising more red flags, they let her mother take her home.
