It sounds as if that's what the neighbour heard on 12th at 7pm/7.30pm. Then it says Simpson was up with Isabelle on 13th though. I thought she was in bed ill most of that day before medics were called. Also don't understand why she was at the bottom of the stairs unless she was placed there.
It is really hard to tell the timeline as the court reporting seems to be erratic. It seems to skip over bits and then just report on random parts. either the court case is very disjointed or the reporting is.

The updates are unclear to me and difficult to understand. If the injuries are only from when she got with HS then I think he was the main violent one and she didn’t stop him. But if some are older than that then I think he’s probably taken advantage of the situation, knowing Isabelle was already being treated foully and with contempt so he’s just felt like she was fair game. Can they get done for joint enterprise or does it have to be one murder and one CAD? The jury have to be sure to convict and to avoid any chance to appeal. I hope to God they get justice for this little girl. She must have been so lonely and frightened. Seems they weren’t even feeding her properly. AW totally unfit to be a parent and then invites a predator into their home. Family seeing her deteriorating and doing nothing but turning away. Nobody cared enough to help her. No professionals took the time to see if she was ok. I think of my own children at that age, so trusting and loving, reaching their little hands out and my heart breaks for Isabelle.
BIB – Logan Mwangi’s mother was found guilty of murder under joint enterprise, despite the prosecution case being that the fatal assault was carried out by the stepfather and stepson. So I really hope so. I don’t want her to get away with anything

IMO it wasn’t just one of them doing it , 21 fractures don’t appear overnight .

Where was the natural father when all this was going on, did he not see her regular ?

Am I correct in thinking there was a delay of 5 or more days from the bairn having her leg broken to them seeking treatment? Then AW has kicked off in the hospital? Why was there not emergency intervention for a full child protection medical done? Anyone on here with any relevant knowledge who can explain why this might happen please? I’m sure if you took your dog to the vets in that state you would be reported at least 😡
I think it was 2 weeks delay......😡

Obviously we don't have every piece of evidence here. BUT something just tells me more to this even the fact AW mum and stepfather state she was a good mum??? After hearing what they have heard? These 2 must have seen bruising on this wee girl they must have seen differences in her posture with broken bones especially her vertebrae she could not have been playing Typically makes me wonder was there a full history of abuse going on here? I mean a stranger would notice this never mind your grandparents WTF. Their is a picture on AW facebook cuddling issabelle that wee girls eyes alone tell me a story. Did no one give a Fuck or where they all in this together?

Just saw a piece on Sky News about HS. He was wanted by police in the 18months before he murdered poor Isabelle. Cleveland Police had an arrest warrant out for him as he had been charged with breaching a NMO and had failed to show up at court. The police claim they tried multiple times to locate him but failed to do so. Yet another failure and more enquiries no doubt.
Prior to the new information being released about the arrest warrant for HS, it was reported in the Sun that Cleveland Police didn’t receive any reports from Josh despite him claiming he made several welfare reports.

However it’s clear JW & his family were completely unaware of the 18 month outstanding arrest warrant for HS before the news went public today.

Surprisingly North Tees Hospital declined to comment despite their failures to safeguard Isabelle!

Just a recap again today…

A mum and her boyfriend blame each other for sexually and physically abusing a toddler ‘murdered’ in her own home, a court had been told.

Alexandra Walker and Harrison Simpson were charged with murder and serious sexual offences after Isabelle Welsh endured weeks of alleged abuse.

The two-year-old suffered 21 fractured bones and about 100 bruises or cuts on her body before she suffered a catastrophic bleed on the brain.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the youngster suffered horrendous abuse at the hands of both defendants before he died in September last year.

The prosecution maintain that both were responsible for inflicting the multitude of injuries within weeks of them becoming a couple.

In his closing speech at Teesside Crown Court today (Wednesday, July 22), Nicholas Lumley KC, representing Simpson, said his client had no motive to hurt Isabelle or any history of violence.

He said that there is a ‘stark’ lack of evidence against his client in relation to the sexual assault charge.

“There is nothing at all to connect him to the sexual assaults,” he said.

Mr Lumley said Walker had more than enough opportunities to inflict the injuries on her daughter and had shown that she was "capable of violence" through her messages and calls.

"The contrast between Harrison Simpson and Alexandra Walker in terms of motive and capacity, never mind the opportunity, could not be greater," the barrister said.

Dealing with his client declining the chance to give evidence during his trial, the barrister said he did not want to "throw himself to the lions" and urged the jury to find him not guilty of all charges.

Mark McKone KC, representing Walker, told the jury that the 26-year-old "had never and would never" hurt her daughter.

He said she did not turn a blind eye to her daughter’s abuse but accepts that she could have acted differently on occasion in the weeks leading up to her death.

The court heard how medical experts said Isabelle suffered her fatal head injury and showed signs of significant sexual trauma on September 13.

“We submit, these events happened at the same time between 8am and 11am when Simpson was in sole charge of Isabelle,” he said.

“We submit that Simpson then put Isabelle’s fatally injured body back into her cot.”

The barrister added: “It would be very strange indeed if she looked after Isabelle well for over two years but then started regularly breaking Isabelle's bones or encouraging someone else to do that.”

Earlier, jurors had looked at computer-generated images cataloguing the bruising and scratching covering the toddler’s entire body.

Dr Sam Hoggard, a Home Office pathologist, said that the vast majority of the injuries would have been clearly visible to the naked eye during weeks of abuse.

Simpson, 22, of Greenham Close in Thorntree, Middlesbrough, and 26-year-old Walker, of Hartington Close in Thornaby, both deny murder.

The pair also deny four other charges involving Isabelle, including: causing or allowing the death of a child on September 14; two counts of assault by penetration between September 10 and September 14 last year; and cruelty to a person under 16.

The trial continues.

Peter Wright KC has successfully put the killer(s) of Preston Davey and now Isabelle Welsh behind bars for hopefully the rest of their sorry lives....
Ooof that’s two pretty heavy cases pretty much back to back that 😔

So glad to see they were both found guilty

Even the “summary” articles are behind a paywall, so there’s only a small audience of subscribers.
@50sGirl has suggested archiving, however I am unsure if this works for live updates.

"Intimidating" people who query what has happened is a red flag all on its own, FFS!

This trial seems to be really quick compared to others of the same magnitude.
Is it because HS hasn’t given any evidence?
I’m nervous that AW could get away with it, based on what I’ve read. Is there enough evidence to convict her?
I really don’t think so. I think the prosecution have done a very good job not just of demonstrating that there’s no way that she didn’t know Isabelle was being abused, but of showing there is good reason to think she was actively involved in abuse even when HS was not there, including the loud bang the neighbours heard which seemed to happen around the same time Isabelle’s final decline started.

She’s come across as so manipulative I actually feel like her googling HS as sex offender and playing up to her CCTV as worried Mum were done precisely because she knew Isabelle would die pretty soon and she was building her defence before Isabelle even died.

I think by the sounds of it - Isabelle was killed/seriously hurt the night before (with the “loud thud” the neighbours heard). As the way it’s been reported - she wasn’t seen at all on CCTV at all the next day. Poor little thing had just been left all night and day 😢😢😢

She was punching kitchen cupboard doors in at 2-3am so I wonder if she’s the one who did it.

He says in a post on his FB that she stopped him from seeing Isabelle.
I find that hard to believe as it seems as if Walker wanted to drink/party etc with the new bf. So why wouldn’t she want the babies father to share custody?

Unless he's also an abuser? And that’s why she had the cctv in the first place?
Interested to hear these details as the trial progresses.

If it was solely the boyfriend (which I don’t believe) - no way can the “mother” claim she didn’t know anything about abuse if there were numerous fractures from 3 seperate occasions. Poor little girl was absolutely brutalised with fractures, from at least a month before her death - she must have been in agony 😭
