Has anyone got this?

My teeth aren’t THAT bad. But I’ve got a few niggles that are really bothering me.

I’m awaiting a call back from Invisalign for a consultation.

How much does it cost?

And is it just a plastic cap that goes over your teeth like the old retainers?

Do you remove it for eating?

Like most people in their 30’s, I had train track braces as a young teenager. Then the retainer thing. Didn’t bother wearing it, and my teeth moved back a little bit.

Any advice or what should I ask at my phone appointment?

you might find something useful on this thread - clear braces

I paid £2k for a 6 month course of Invisalign to straighten teeth that had moved since having braces as a teen. They worked really well for me, I’d thoroughly recommend

it’s a plastic thin cover that goes over your teeth, you barelynoticed it really - take it out to eat and clean teeth before putting it back in

Do it. Go for it and never look back. I had crooked teeth and didn't realise how crooked they were until I had invisalign. I've got retainers in now. My teeth aren't 100% how I want them so am considering contacting the dentist about them. But my whole face shape has changed, I can actually smile properly without hiding my teeth, my teeth are whiter as I can brush them all properly. One of the best things I've ever done is get invisalign!

Aw thank you! I am waiting for my consultation. How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking?

Also, the face shape worries me. I am currently on a weight loss journey and have lost 3 stone already with another few more to go! If I get Invisalign done before I’m finished losing weight, will I look odd?

I have Invisalign currently.

It’s not a cheap option. There are different types of invis. Invisalign lite and go which are for easier cases and comprehensive which is a complete plan
I would say check on your provider and don’t just go with the cheapest quote or plan. You can get options from several places. Ideally you want an orthodontist or a dentist that is at least platinum Invisalign status which shows their experience.

Depending on what you need doing it might not be as invisible as you think- you can have attachments or buttons on teeth and some people need elastics too so ask about that. You also might need IPR where they shave down the sides of your teeth to make space.

I’m paying £3500 and then you will regularly need retainers at the end on top of that and I’m likely to need a bit of bonding I think to even my teeth up which is another addional cost.
