Influencers in Dubai #2 breaking lockdown for what?

It’s the fact that a lot of them started referencing Katie Hopkins by saying, I don’t usually agree with her. If you don’t generally side with someone’s opinions and you suddenly do maybe you need to question why you are this time?

It's exactly how it sounds. The ultra rich in Dubai see a girl on instagram they like the look of and pay her enormous amounts of money as well gifting them designer clothes and cars to go to fly over have sex with them. It's even seedier as the more the women in question are willing to do degrading sexual acts the more they earn. Hence the whole 'porta potty' where these men get to live out their scat and golden shower fantasies and treat these women like human toilets. Certainly not all influencers/reality stars who go to Dubai are doing it but it's sadly more common than people realise.
these are the successful “escorts” - what about the lower grade ones? I wonder what they do for less.

Dawn Ward from RHOC, still out there with her family, ‘working’ 🙄 Also: clueless! They think they’re above the law.
There is a big difference between “you are legally allowed to enter the UK” and “it’s possible/easy for you to do so”. We’re trying to get my dad home just now and have had to change the route twice for a 36 hour journey. I don’t think any of us will sleep until he lands.

I thought Priti said you couldn’t go for work reasons either?

The funniest comment I saw was “is Dubai the new Dilicon Valley?”

like any of this lot could build a company😆

A family friend's niece went to Dubai for 2 weeks at the start of January. Young and from a small town. Modelling jewellery apparently. She only paid her air fare. I was horrified. Her family are naive to it all and bragging about her and showing her pictures on FB.

What gets me, is a lot of influencers jump on board the gay rights/feminism train to get more clicks and likes. And yet they're openly supporting the economy of a country with an active track record for massive breaches of human rights. A country where being gay could lead to imprisonment, flogging and execution. Where rape victims are punished for having sex outside of wedlock.

The influencers would want to be careful too. It's easy to be lured into a false sense that the country is quite relaxed with all the beaches, bars, nightclubs and alcohol, when in reality it is not. The law over there is strict and actually very conservative. If you so much as make a tweet/post that's mildly criticising the government/authorities, you could be in serious trouble.
Careful, I pointed the stuff about gay rights and feminism out on another thread and got told to "take a day off" because "you've never been there so you can't comment" and that I should "just keep going to maga if you want to show affection to a same-sex partner" 😂

I hadn't even brought up that the entire city was built off the backs of modern day slaves...

I like how they're so suddenly concerned about mental health but I've rarely seen any of them advocate for it before? Promote MH organisations? Also sorry huns but Katie Hopkins is NOT someone you want to share views with. You cant all of a sudden decide shes the oh wonderful spirit guide and disregard all the other disgusting things shes said. Saw on Sky News earlier that we (uk) 'CANT' close the borders? Why not? Dont let anyone in,don't let anyone out. Seems simple to me

They use the mental health card to get everyone off their backs. It’s used as a get out clause. Poor.
I also saw that stupid woman saying the same thing... proof that they are about the economy more than saving lives.

What makes me laugh is their argument "we can afford to come out here & continue to work" as if "normal" people couldn't 🙄 with so many people working from home at the moment im sure there are plenty of people in the general public who could afford to pack up their laptop & work out of an apartment/hotel in Dubai for a month or two, the reason people don't is because its morally wrong! The mental health argument isn't valid either in my opinion. God knows how many people's mental health is in tatters due to lockdowns & the pandemic. There are steps you can take to try & improve it that aren't jumping on a plane to Dubai! The best thing that could happen in my opinion is Dubai go into lockdown and close there borders not letting anyone in or out. Let see where these people would rather be living if that were to happen!

a lot of these influencers live in their mums house - they don’t get much cash in the bank. It’s all free stuff which doesn’t pay the bills.

the reality tv lot might have money but do they declare it?

is it legitimate?

I wouldn’t want their life.

eithet they don’t get that it’s morally wrong or they don’t care - neither of which is a good place to be.

That's the argument lol? "You've never been there?". I mean, most people have never been to North Korea but we all know about the crimes against humanity being orchestrated there every single day. Just shows the ridiculous logic of some posters on this forum tbh.

Wanking off camels and other acts of bestiality...allegedly.

Indeed. There's no country with completely clean hands when it comes to human rights abuses but Dubai in particular is not the kind of place anyone should be promoting even if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic.

Really think it needs to get trending unfollows covidiot influencers. Why are people lining the pockets of these self absorbed dickheads. Not only from a health point of view but also from a mental health point of view! Most of their “fans” are under 30 and mostly at the lower end of the 20s. Do they not think the emotional effect it has on them, watching. Them swanning around live their “best life” people are losing their jobs , homes , family members. Youngsters are likely going to be worst hit in terms of jobs. There’s people DO NOT CARE. They will still flog tit and live the high life at the expense of these fans they have no respect for.

UNFOLLOW THEM and cut the purse strings.

Megan Stevens is still out there and posts an Instagram story every few days with a ‘little update of why they’re there’ and says they haven’t broken any rules etc. And apparently they stayed on there to ‘make memories’ 🤮

These influencers are sooooooo over after all this
They better be because it's an absolute joke!
I hope they have 0 success going forwards as they do not deserve it. They do duck all and act like they're doing something so good for everyone who follows them. And the mental health argument is absolute crap. I work a real job every single day, I don't have the option to duck off to dubai for my 'mental health' and tbh real mental health problems do follow you wherever you go so it makes no sense to me.

They need to grow up. Their influencer status won't last forever and they'll have nothing after it.

Honestly I'm not do sure. Most of them don't seem to be losing many followers. I wouldn't be suprised if a few have even gained followers. Some of the bigger names tend to benefit from controversy, every time the press report their 'outrage' alongside the girls in bikini pics it almost like free advertisements for their instagrams.
