Here is a delight from cleaning with Mario, his tragic catchphrase as his tree topper. Hello my lovelies. It used to be Mario's Mafia, but now everyone is a lovelie, not a lovely. Don't get me started on youse, which is a multi purpose word for him.

The "department store" / Insta perfect tree trend or "busy tree" is just awful. You know where the tree is stuffed like a turkey and there isn't a single inch of branch on show, just decor. Some of them look like they took the contents of any old tat they found in their attic and threw it at the tree. Old clothes, family photo albums, the Disney gift shop, their wedding dress, an old dog bed, you name it. Absolutely horrendous.

For me personally Christmas is not a time for trends, it's a time for tradition. It's so distasteful to treat it like a competition of who can get the most over the top tree. Your living room is not the John Lewis display window.
