I can’t believe he lasted as long as he did in prison before someone killed him. I know he was attacked a few years ago according to the papers but I’m surprised he lasted as long as he did before getting killed

Tbh, I thought he would do his full sentence, then probably breech his licence. Despite contrary belief, SO’s aren’t routinely murdered in prison day in, day out. After all, he wasn’t even murdered because of his crimes.
I thought he would be killed, because he was a high profile prisoner, rather than because of the nature of his crimes to be honest. When I got the news he'd been killed, it was a shock but not unexpected, if that makes sense.
I thought he would be segregated but turns out he was in 'gen pop' so not as well protected as I assumed he would be, again given his high profile but also the nature of his crimes.
He would have been a target for extortion and attacks, yes. I wasn’t shocked when he was attacked in 2023, but I was to find he had been murdered - especially as he had been victim of severe attacks in the past. Usually UK prison security is high as responsibility of attacks come down to the prison and most of the time expense of the tax payer. I get scorched for saying this, but it’s made me worry whether prison security is fit to protect prisoners. IW even predicted his demise in the investigation regarding a phone, nothing was done about it. Despite being a high security cat A prison, they didn’t do much to protect vulnerable women from him either, one fan had her child taken away from her as he managed to groom her from within the prison walls. A tit show really.
Wakefield prison doesn’t have a VP unit as essentially most prisoners in there are regarded as VPs. So they’re all in gen pop together. They have an enhanced unit for prisoners displaying good behaviour. But he was a drug addict with a very long sentence so that wasn’t happening anytime soon.
I always hoped someone like him would have been locked up like Hannibal lector. Literally no contact with anyone other than the prison workers.
Fact he DID have contact with the outside world, more women, another child put into care. He still would have felt he was above it all. Still getting his own way.

Yeah I thought the same, not even that he was a celebrity just his whole attitude. He seemed quite entitled and full of himself. I'd imagine that would have pissed a lot of the other prisoners off. I don't know if he was like that in prison though right enough. Same as you, when I saw it I was like hmm shocked to see it but not surprised really
Yeah I was surprised he was able to start up new relationships with people on the outside. Obviously people would have been writing to him etc but I thought unless it was people he actually knew such as family and friends (if he had any left!), then the letters wouldn't have been passed on to him. Especially seeing as it probably would have started as "fan mail". I also thought phone calls etc would have been monitored to prevent anything like that. I'm more shocked he managed to get "engaged" than I am to have heard he was killed really. Not much justice for the victims in my opinion

I can imagine people wrote to him out of morbid curiosity, unknowing how to handle that manipulation / realise they’re being manipulated. Men like that are very clever.
I was shocked to see he’d have been eligible for parole in 6 years time. He would ALWAYS have been a danger to children, no matter how old he was.
I don’t think he would get parole given he’d been grooming from in jail
I mean it's highly likely then that IW was abusing JWs son? I can't imagine that he wouldn't have and she wouldn't have known about it.
Can't believe woman A is released, I remember reading her posts online about IW and claiming to be meeting up with him she was obviously so obsessed with him, people didn't really believe it at the time and thought she was telling lies. Before all this she was also done for scamming people out of festival tickets , she was a weirdo. Don't know as much about woman A but apparently she has very little remorse

This is the same one that I was thinking of that used to post photos of IW and her baby boy in bed to prove she and him were a thing.

She posted it to prove IW was his dad if I remember correctly. Her and Jo were always having pregnancies claiming it was Ian’s.
