I've mentioned on the Real Life Crime thread before but my daughters Dad (separated over a decade, thankfully) recently plead guilty to downloading and purchasing over 200 images and videos - Cat A - and it came out that during the time he was accessing it he was heavily using drugs like crack coccaine, etc. Whilst I am sure most crack users don't do horrid shit like that I wonder if there's a link between dirty drugs creating dirty fucked up minds and sexual deviance.

FYI. He got a slap on the wrist, basically. Community service and signing the register - and SS let him have supervised access with our daughter once a week.

This is a reply to the commenter that said they didn’t understand how / why IW mother had anything to do with him after what he’s done. I feel it’s very easy to be sat on the side lines stating what you would and wouldn’t do in that situation, until you’re actually in that situation. I have found out a very close friend of mine was caught with cat A CSA pics and videos on their devices and it’s broken my heart. I have not done this but everything in my being is telling me to call them, one minute I feel in denial like it must be a misunderstanding, are they ok? The next minute absolutely sickened because it’s true, no misunderstandings. Caught red handed with evidence and even pled guilty. It’s like mental torture, heartbreak and grief mixed into one. So god knows how it feels as a mother. She was likely highly manipulated by him too. I don’t even judge her you know, from her decline in the past 13 yrs after his arrest, he ruined her life too. He single handedly ruined so many peoples lives and had not shown not 1 bit of remorse.

I had to report my ex last year after I found out from his own (adult) daughter that he had sexually assaulted his new girlfriend’s daughter. Not one person had done anything about it so I contacted social services who got the police to investigate but nothing came of it, as far as I know the girlfriend is still with him and I reckon they got the daughter to go back on what she said. Fucked up.

I read an old tabloid interview with his stepdad last week where he does blame drugs for Ian's decline and crimes.

I work in forensics with SO’s. What the step father said could hold an element of truth. Crystal meth is rife in chem sex parties, is used to enhance the experience. However, if you already have a sex addiction, that with access to the internet would have progressively worsened the content to satisfy it. 1 in 6 men have accessed CSA material, most of it isn’t down to peadophila alone. It’s down to sex and porn addiction which gets worse through seeking more extreme content going from hardcore sex, to rape, to incest, to teens, to children and animals. IW was also a sex worker, he used to work alongside his ex girlfriend Joanne M dubbed themselves the brother and sister slave duo. Your average man ‘only’ has access to the internet and if they physically offend, they will seek a vulnerable single mum or groom a vulnerable family. Watkins had access to the entire world and more which enabled him to offend the way he did with nobody stopping him, with no real life consequences. I mean, if I had a severe drug addiction and didn’t turn up to work or was using at work, I would lose my job, then I would lose my home, etc. IW didn’t have this, so there was no stopping him. Even though JM went to the police, I do doubt her intentions behind her reporting. I don’t believe she did it for the benefit of the children.

In 2012/13 when he was arrested, it was all on forums. There were also text messages from her to him saying something along the lines of ‘I can’t wait for you to get me pregnant so we can abuse the baby’ not those exact words but exact context. She did the correct thing going to the police, but seems she only did it to spite him every time he dumped her. I can see why she was investigated herself.

Despite being a long time user of this thread i didn't know that Octupus. How awful and I'm so so sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine how traumatic it must have been to send your child for access. Once again in this country the wants and desires of a man (any man) trumps the wants, rights and needs of women and children.

Not much is done when caught. One freak in my area has just got two years SUSPENDED for 2000 images of CSA including rpe of newborns. I nearly chucked up my dinner. Walking the streets he is. Out of prison. What are these judges thinking! Where do they think these images come from!

I don’t fully buy Joanne’s story either. I don’t think it was about protecting kids - like others said I think she was pissed off she was scorned.

If he did this in 2008 - why on earth are you going back to him? And doing interviews calling him your lover in 2010-2011?

That sex tape is why she was arrested! Not the indecent images she had ‘collected as evidence’. They found it on IWs computer and he wasn’t even saying anything in the tape it was all her begging him to put a baby in her for them to abuse and saying we’re child molesterers for life whilst IW was silent!

I remember all this on a forum I joined, there were loads of pics of him in bondage gear, doing lines, photos of JM escorting pages and some of her with clients, endless screenshots of her arguing with groupies on sites, she also had a young son at the time of her seeing Watkins - and kept on seeing him after he told her everything, disgusting. She is definitely not the white knight everyone makes her out to be, she was jealous and did it to spite him. I also remember some aussie girl who shagged him being on the forum, can't remember her name but I'm sure he told her something or she saw something - was back when it all came to light. Happy the cunts dead! Feel so much sadness for the children involved, hope they are in better places now.

It’s actually sick that she was found not guilty. She’s talking about wanting to abuse children, she’s asked for and received indecent images. She should have been jailed, and the “I was in love with him and saying things to excite him” is absolutely vile. I can’t believe how she’s been portrayed in the media.

I’m always confused by how these people find their equally depraved soul mate. Fred and Rose West being another couple the same. I mean how do two people get into conversation about wanting to do such things to people and the other go along with it without actually reporting these people and thinking it’s a seemingly normal conversation. Like Rose and Fred, (whoever said it first) what shall we do today then? Fancy a trip to the shops, maybe out for some lunch? Nah, I fancy killing one of the kids and burying them, you up for it? Babies are usually the most in demand for adoptive parents, so if they did end up in care after being taken away from their mothers, hopefully they would have been adopted fairly quickly, rather than being in multiple foster placements like some older children sadly face.

Babies face multiple foster homes too. One of my children had six changes of carer by ten months old.

I’m glad I found this thread. I just knew there was something off about that Joanne character, the way she keeps appearing in the press. All dolled up to the nines. When I read she had reported him, with evidence, and “nothing was done” it was obvious there was something the papers weren’t saying.

For me it's not about the royalties or any other money side of things it's not something that crossed my mind. It's just simply that he was a horrically evil person and I don't want to hear his voice, dead or alive. Especially when you think of listening to music it's when you're upbeat and happy, you do a little dance, have a spring in your step, sing along etc I don't want his voice entering those moments and he wrote a lot of the music too so it's his lyrics even if people were to re-release the songs with different vocals. Each to their own but it'll always be a no from me

I don't think he ever felt remorse. If he did, he would not have carried on grooming women in prison. I read an article yesterday where it stated that he continued to feel that he'd been 'done wrong' up till his last day and his delusions sent him insane.

I’ve followed all this since the arrest in 2012. It’s one of the most horrendous cases I’ve ever had the misfortune of reading.

I was a big lostprohets fan back in the day. Went to see them many times, posters on my wall.
