It sounds really, really messy. I really feel for her poor kids - I've never met her ex so I have no opinion on him at all, but I have met Bethie in passing a couple of times as she is acquainted with a friend of mine and she was pretty dismissive of me as I am very much not part of that instagram set. She just comes across as being in cloud cuckoo land most of the time.

I don't know her but I have a friend whose son is at the same school as one of the kids. Her husband won his case and has full custody of the kids in London. I think they visit her in the US though.

The narcissistic abuse explanation on her stories - THE most blatant pot shot at the EX.

Thinking your Ex is a narcissist, or putting references to it on your socials is every third breakup these days. It also screams “I didn’t get my way and I am a sore loser”.

If her kids went to one of the local state primaries she wouldn’t have to give a thought to renting an ex-council house. Those schools are very mixed in intake, from big houses to people in very precarious housing indeed. It’s because they go to very expensive private schools that she is anxious.

Yes - because they need to make decisions about where the children are going to live etc; particularly in this case where the mother wants to remove them overseas. So two issues for the court:

1. Is the father a safe person to leave the children with if the decision is they should stay in the UK? Given that mother says he is an “abuser”. What is the evidence around that?

2. It is in the children’s best interest to be removed to another country and live with someone who makes a untrue (if that is the case) allegations on social media that their father is an “absurer”? One of the best ways to persuade a court to allow a child to be removed (which is pretty hard to do) is to lead good evidence that the parent they are going to live with will do all they can to promote and encourage their relationship with the parent they are being removed from. Saying the father is an “abuser” on public social media is not indicative of that.

I've bought some organic apple butter today, made of only apples for 3. 5 euros😉 its delicious! Apparently it contains 2.4kgs of apples for 300 grams butter. #uselessfactofthedat🍎

So a total of £1500 was raised and it was all given to Little Village? In the post HM herself describes it as the “remaining money” which would imply there was more than just that.
Look maybe that was it, but myself when I am doing fundraising, I report the total raised then give a breakdown of distribution to the cent, so I am completely transparent and the donors feel comfortable and confident in where their money went.
I think with this, it was also the flurried fundraising and heaps of posting appealing to people to donate and then a total silence on it for quite some time which left questions.

On an unrelated topic I wonder how schools and quality of education compares between a London Private school and a public American high school in a regional area?

Because the status quo for the children will remain until a final decision is made. The father wants the children to remain in the UK where they are ordinarily resident and go to school etc. Bethy would need their father’s permission to relocate them - which he clearly and understandably won’t give. So the only way ti remove them is by permission of the court.

The judge will make a decision after considering the best interests of the children. It would most definitely not be in the best interests of the children to allow them to be removed temporarily to the US and then have to be returned to the UK once a final decision is made if the decision is they are carry on living here. There’s also a risk that Bethy wouldn’t return them and try and argue they were then ordinarily resident in the US.

Baldly put - their mother chose to go to the US and had chosen to remain there. She could come back to the UK etc to see them more or to live until matters are resolved but isn’t. She should have stayed in the UK until she obtained permission to remove them from the UK (which was probably fairly unlikely) but chose not to. Her not seeing the children is a problem of her own making. I don’t know what legal advice she got before she left but it either wasn’t very good or she’s not listened to it

Pretty weird timing...

The Claire situation was always going to end this way, it was clear as day from the first post. I’m surprised that so many people naively contributed to the campaign tbh. HM came on far too strong and I am not surprised that Claire retreated. Most social workers would know this is not how you help people so she’s clearly forgotten a lot from her long-ago training! I do feel a bit badly for HM but as everyone has said it’s just another example of how she leaps into projects/jobs without thinking anything through properly.

I assumed from the cat story she will be looking to re-home it……she just needs to put it out there first how expensive it would be in order to justify leaving it. Why get a cat if not planning on staying??

Her desire to be relevant and to make her ''brand'' happen seems to be almost pathological at this stage. Bizarre behaviour. Also, does she think that she somehow has a global monopoly on apple butter, and people must only know about it or make it via her recipe. How utterly ludicrous. It's like someone trying to claim jam (or any other condiment) as their own. Not to mention, of all the things - this is the hill on which you'll die and contact the BBC about?! Just wow.
I have a friend who has been featured in Forbes, Red, the evening standard, women & home magazine amongst others. There's no denying that he does work hard, but the only thing he did differently that many others don't- is hire professionals instead of trying to do it all on his own. He uses real photographers and he hired a publicist.

She's been a content creator for almost 8 years now, but her follower count has remained static and not grown above 28k. Her book has been out since 2020 and is ranked 259 in soups and stews + 2,140 in easy meals. She doesn't have her own website. Her podcast is discontinued. Her TikTok has 115 followers.

The get well soup does seem more affordable at £3.75 though but she said she was making a loss at the moment on the small scale.

Because she always shares too much or writes without thinking, then deletes it. She should just take some time for herself rather than use social media as a friend/psychologist whatever.
Therapy would be very good for her. Her husband would have been so blindsided. Did she ever say she was so unhappy to him? I can understand about wanting to go back verus staying but she stayed anyway.

Anyone else still think that HM used the money she raised for her imaginary friend Claire to pay for her oversea custody battle and move to the US?

I noticed that when she flipped through her cookbook in stories that she deliberately kept her hand over the recipe part and just showed the photo part. Afraid someone might nick the recipes without buying the book?

Given that her ex is a partner in a London law firm how the fuck is she funding this legal battle? I really feel for their poor kids - note she is very careful not to say whether they are with her in the States or not.

It's probably #gifted.

Not saying being separated isn't hard, but she's likes to call herself a poor single mum. She's as poor as you can be with two kids in private school, living in a expensive part of london, and rich enough to not really need to work and support herself with only instagram, future book sales and gigs. :ROFLMAO:
