How often do you argue with your partner?

Me and my partner never really argue. We are both quite chill, we bicker about daft things on occasion - like the amount of time he spends browsing the reduced section in the supermarket argh, I like to get in and out as quick as poss atm as I have asthma and wearing a mask is uncomfortable for me. Aaaaanyway lol, we never really argue about big things as we are both ‘talk it out’ people and don’t like drama (I also don’t like shouting due to a previous partner being a very angry/shouty person) so we usually talk through any problems we have.

Did you know you're exempt from wearing a mask if you have asthma?

Yeah but I feel a bit awkward not wearing one haha. I'm really non-confrontational so the half hour of discomfort is worth it not to have anxiety thinking about another customer confronting me 😂 just could do without the bf browsing the reduced section for 10mins when he has no intention of purchasing haha

Yes I can understand that. They need to provide some kind of badge or something that says you're exempt.

Ha! My inlaws love the reduced section. They go out every evening to Tesco to buy stuff!

I feel like we’re “in” an argument at least 50% of the time - whenever we do argue it lasts WEEKS. I’m not even kidding, he will walk out and not come back for days, and then he’ll come back - we’ll argue again and then won’t speak for another week or so. Good job I don’t mind being on my own and it doesn’t really even bother me anymore.
My partner “huffs off” in argument. I just let him go. I’m not chasing him about like a 15 year old. I used to but now I refuse. Ridiculous behaviour. Now when he has a princess moment I enjoy the peace and quiet while he is gone.

I’m not sure what this says about me, but I’ve only ever had a proper argument with my boss😂

We’ve been together 20 years since we were young teens. We used to argue quite a lot, usually over money, housework, how many times he went to the pub etc, but as we’ve matured and learnt to communicate properly we rarely ever argue.
I heard a good quote once that talked about love being inconvenient and how it’s not about Having lack of issues but about how you manage to navigate past them and still stay together. Just because a couple never argues doesn’t mean they’re stronger then a couple that does. Sometimes couples that never argue, end up facing a problem in life that causes them to have one almighty row that breaks them up forever.

It’s interesting, how many arguments/disagreements does it take to maybe think you’re not meant to be? What makes you stay? This is in no means judgey! Just genuinely interested, we’ve been together nearly a decade but not sure I could stick it if we argued a lot but that’s my personal preference
Depends how much you actually love them, and by that I don’t mean you’ve been together 5 years and ‘oh I love him’ I mean real love, the kind where that person becomes like a brother to you.
If a couple find themselves rowing a lot and can no longer be bothered to work it out, then they just never loved each other anyway and part of loving someone is listening and taking note and being considerate. You can argue with your teenager, but you don’t give up on them. You work out why you’re not getting on and you fix it. To me it’s the same thing and sometimes people go through things in life that impacts their mental health but can still be worked out and resolved.

We bicker quite a bit, we used to argue a lot more and go days without speaking. When we were in our early 20s we lived in a tiny flat away from all our friends and family and he worked very long hours and we had no money.

Now we have more space, more money and more time we argue less. We do argue but we get over it as life is too short.

I’ve been with my partner for 5 years, we are mid 20’s, we’ve never had a proper shouting, stomping around argument.

we bicker sometimes, like he might say something I disagree with, but he thinks he’s right and we might have a small bicker, but generally that only happens every few months and it’s usually because one or both of us is tired or hungry or both! They only last a couple of minutes and there’s no raised voices or shouting. One of my friends is in a relationship were they constantly argue and fall out, I couldn’t cope with that.

I think the thing with us is we don’t generally have many worries at the moment. We don’t argue over who does the housework because we are both laid back and a bit lazy! I’d never tell him off for not pulling his weight, because I’m a lazy cow half the time and he does more than me quite often anyway! We are very lucky to not have any money worries and we don’t have any children either, but overall I think it’s just because we are both so laid back, nothing really phases either of us!

We used to argue quite a lot, I'm very hot tempered and he is very laid back so that would wind me up. I say we have a big row once every few months but do tell each other to duck off quite often 😂
This is exactly how me and my partner are, it drives me insane!

He has never once raised his voice at me, meanwhile I scream at him and he just sits there and doesn't reply, it's the most infuriating thing about him.

I think I call him wick more than I say his own name 😂

We bicker more than full on argue although it can happen maybe once every few months. When we do argue, it’s usually about something relatively minor and it somehow escalates into a row, it’s sorted within hours or less as we hate not speaking to each other and can only stand the silent treatment/atmosphere for so long. With the serious stuff we ar able to discuss things more like adults maybe with a slight shower of bickering which we try to work through if it’s a really serious issue.

Reasons for bickering are usually being hangry, stressed, moody etc and is diffused quite quickly. Arguments often start when I’m struggling with depression if I’m honest as I tend to be more sensitive and ready to ‘pick a fight’ so to speak. Sometimes I will have a ‘princess moment’😆 and walk off if I feel there’s an argument brewing but usually that’s because I don’t want to argue in front of the children. We’ve never gotten physical with each other except for when I pushed him once but not hard enough to knock him over and felt awful afterwards.

I hate arguing (who actually likes it though) it takes a real emotional toll on me even if what we’re arguing about isn’t a big deal and we’ve made up I still feel awful for a while afterwards, not at him but just like emotionally exhausted and generally upset. But I also understand that you can’t live with someone 24/7 and expect to get along 100% of the time, we are only human after all and the occasional argument is different to arguing all the time and never working through problems.

We bicker at least every week about something or other but big rows are rare for us. We used to row all the time early on in our relationship and I used to get so upset I couldn't eat. Early lockdown wasn't great as in I was quite snappish because my partner was very pessimistic about it all and I couldn't understand why he would want to talk about all the bad things that were happening especially as he was the only person I was having any meaningful in-person contact with whilst he was still going out to work. After a few 5pm bedtimes for him we came to an understanding that he talk about anything but the pandemic.

Me and my boyfriend have been together a year and half so I guess early days still but we have never had a big argument, we’ve had little bickers but never go longer than half an hour without speaking, he has a way of making me laugh even if he’s annoyed me 🙄

Honestly all the time. Like a bicker at LEAST once a week and a full blown like crying argument maybe every two weeks, even more recently since becoming long distance. I know this probs isn’t the norm and we should probs break up hahaha 😭

I’m a right misery so I try to keep this in mind with my partner 😂 he has many many faults but does jolly me along and that’s worth it’s weight in gold a lot of the time😂

My husband would probably say we've never argued but we did have a few loaded discussions during difficult times where we definitely were feeling cross with each other for a few minutes before resolving it. Which I think counts as an argument.
Never any yelling or name calling though, not our style.

We've been together 10 years and have had 2 arguements in that time, both when I was pregnant so very much hormone based and him being a twit 🤣

I'm a very blunt person as is my husband,we are brutally honest with each other and it works well for us.

Too much. Life is stressful at the moment, for various reasons (some more obvious than others). We never used to fight at all until the babies came along.

We bicker daily. We disagree over trivial things. Every. Single. Day.

A typical one will be him asking me to look for something that is right in his face or having his phone in his face when our son is awake and specifically wanting his attention. I'll exchange mass displeasure and a few words will be exchanged. Doesn't carry on and is quickly forgotten about, have your usual cuddle on our next verbal exchange.

Then there will be the meaty rows, maybe no more than one every 2-3 months. I am quite argumentitive, where as he is not, else we would probably argue more, however every few weeks he does like a whisky with his dad and that is when he usually bites back. Usually nasty words we can often say to eachother, we are both guilty of going below the belt, being really spiteful with our words and they will usually end with him going back to his own house, slamming the door on the way out usually, but we never leave it long, we have always made up as quick as we can and agreed at the very start of our relationship we are to never sleep on an argument as I have PTSD from a previous DV relationship and it would relieve my anxiety.

We argue alot. Due to his snoring and not dealing with it (been told too lose weight). Im so sleep deprived and depressed that it causes major arguments. Very reluctant to lose weight and blames me for being a light sleeper. I have 3 children to care for and when im so exhausted, it's not nice for all of us. Im very snappy with them all the time. Im due back to work soon after m/l doing 3x 12 hour shifts and im dreading it on 3/4 hours sleep. Ive threatened to divorce him and leave with the kids, he will 'diet' for a week then slip into his old ways.
