I don’t think your being selfish at all. I’ve gone from a 40 minute to 1h30 commute because it gave us the perfect house. Is it really worth the cost, upheaval for 1 hour? Have you discussed this with him?

I think he's the one being selfish! An hour commute is nothing, I used to regularly comment 2 hours on London public transport to get to work and back. If he's in the comfort of his own car he's being a bit precious. You're finally happy, why ruin all that for an hour commute.
My husband commutes an hour each way for work daily.
One of my good friends husband is RAF, in the 7 years I've known her they have moved 4 times but in those years she's had 2 prem babies and cancer and this was with the RAF keeping them local! They have now brought a house so she and the kids have somewhere permanent and her hubby travels as and when required.
