(On a seperate note, it’s really jarring to me how it’s obvious middle aged writers are writing teens. Dylan and Lucas don’t talk/act like teenagers and Dylan doesn’t talk to Ste like he’s Dylan’s dad, he talks to him like a fellow adult (and I don’t mean a teen trying to seem grown up, I mean unrealistic language). I also noticed this in Glee (and other American shows). It was clear it was Ryan Murphy as an older gay man’s writings. It didn’t make sense that these teenage school kids were referencing jokes knowing and involving things before they were born.

So true about the writing, the age/generation gap of ste and Dylan is insane for Dylan, totally unrealistic he wouldn't view him as such. I can't imagine being his age and talking to someone as if they were a peer of mine

Summed it up perfectly , that’s exactly what I mean, it comes across as not at all believable. EDIT: and I’ve just realised I don’t know who you were referring to but it equally applies because it’s not realistic Dylan would have the vocabulary and maturity to understand and speak to Ste like he does but also it’s equally not realistic Ste would allow someone the same age as his son (and his sons boyfriend) to speak to him like that as he is.

Exactly, even discounting the fact he's his sons boyfriend/ex it's ridiculous. That added to it is just absurd. It'd also play out very differently and predatory if it wasn't a gay relationship I imagine. Overall just totally unrealistic

I dipped back in for the Brookside crossover and the late night episode - I’m firmly back out again now! I’ve two weeks worth recorded and can’t be arsed!

This Lucas storyline is outrageous. He bad now, imagine when he finds out the truth. James has still to come back I guess even thought he has disappeared again. So Rex, Dillon and James. What a mess 😆

I read that the Lucas/ste storyline is getting wrapped up soon and it’s going to get worse. I hope Rex works out what’s going on and manages to save ste. I like him and Rex together

I wonder where they are going with the pills and mercy as I can’t see them going down the full junkie route she’s to a big a character for anything to happen to her
