Spoiler: Summer shite

Anyone else bored and annoyed at the farce of Summer? It's almost like a comedy or a parody of a soap. So many things wrong, a reported shooting where a police officer was 2 minutes away and no one arrives. Damon trying to rescue Lib, no scene showing his phone being taken yet he doesn't attempt to call anyone after being trapped? Cindy rescues them? Why not call the police ASAP to report what Summer was doing especially as Cindy couldn't get in touch with Sienna or Brody?
I know it's a soap but this storyline has been shockingly bad.

The Brendan years were ELITE. I’ll never forget him coming out the loft with all them coppers around him and how dramatic it was, it’s just fallen so much!

So bored of Mercedes. She will wear a grey jumper for a couple of weeks and look sad, then go back to normal. Her over-filled lips and breathy “acting” annoy me too.

Unpopular opinion but the difference between the calendar and only fans is there's clear boundarys with the calendar.

With only fans so many start posting underwear shots and before you know it they're posting really explicit content to keep the money coming in. I'm not saying it'll happen with this person, but it's a very common path.

So I can see why it presents a possible ongoing problem for the show. Most of the cast could probably make far more on onlyfans than through acting if they all got on it thanks to the fame that's come from the show.

I don't think it's as clear cut as someone wanting to take control of their own body and I can see why the show want to nip it before more started doing it.

I hadn’t watched in months but fell asleep watching tv over the weekend and woke to Misbah’s story on the middle of the night omnibus . I thought it was really well done but haven’t tuned back in. Don’t really care about the other stories or Nancy being co-deputy head etc

Nancy needs to go. She's one of the worst characters imo. She's a moaning cow!

I'm a huge fan of Hollyoaks but they really don't seem to have recovered from the impact of COVID. I read somewhere it's to do with the camera style they use. But of course when you see Coronation Street throwing sink holes in and Emmerdale having people going over a waterfall, Hollyoaks just isn't stacking up.

Instead we've got a dance show with two people involved, a weird kidnapping story in an empty hotel, and a winter trailer that showcased a cleaning storyline.

I also agree about the rehashing of storylines. Looks like we're getting another gambling addiction and the my husband left me but he's been kidnapped actually story again.

I'd like to see a big stunt to wipe out most of the McQueens (except Sally, love her), Grace can run off to live with Esther, and Olivia can finish what Sienna started and take out Nancy. Give Ripley a proper storyline instead of using them as the moral message person. They deserve better than being used solely to educate the audience.

I've never rated her or her character (and I may be entirely alone on this) but I'm totally on her side. Hollyoaks was until recently a very racy soap that often had the female cast take their clothes off onscreen. They seemed to encourage the actresses to do lads mag shoots and even used to have an annual Hollyoaks calendar with all the young sexy female cast in lingerie.

It wants to be a progressive soap now but has a problem with one of the actresses exercising bodily autonomy. Unless the material she posts is pornographic I don't see why they are all 'please think of the children'.

This . Was a different story when they had a calendar to promote!

The Jacqui McQueen era of Hollyoak’s was gold standard. They had the silly storylines but enough good actors to do the really meaty ones justice.
