The thing which annoys me is that Holly seems to realise she has zero common sense, yet does nothing to try and change that. It’s like she doesn’t care that she comes across as this 12 year old. Would hate to see her as my boss. I don’t think she’d know how to set any boundaries or relate to anyone on a real level. That’s what scares me about this tutoring thing!
From having worked with managers who so very clearly don't know what they're doing, nothing is more frustrating than having a boss who doesn't actually know how to manage their employees.

Yeh it just means 10x the work for everyone else who ends up working above their pay grade 🙄

THIS. She really needs to be more thoughtful about the message she's sending out.
Earlier in this thread, I'd said she doesn't have to justify herself or explain why she eats so little or works out so much.

The more I think about it, I realise that that's sort of the problem.

A vegetarian/vegan diet does not look like Holly's compared with most of the people I know. I had actually started to believe that Holly's diet was 'healthy' and normal and that's not okay. If I'm 21 and believe that's a normal way to behave, imagine the impact that might be having on a young girl.

Truly baffling that she wanted to study nutrition.

Yes!! Considering her channel revolves around the whole exercise and food area, I think she needs to actually explain why she does what she does. Either she’s completely clueless and is lying to herself that what she’s doing is normal, or she knows, and is scared of what her following would do if she said she’s stuck in a rut with food and isn’t feeding herself properly. She needs a reality check anyhow.

If Holly actually came out and said that, I'd be the first person to offer her support. Having been through therapy for exactly that, I really am not being mean. But I get the high pressure environment (Oxford not Cambridge and also at home) and I know the pressure to succeed she must have went through, so a) I know how dangerous it can be and b) I know how difficult it can be to admit you struggle with the pressure and a need to be perfect/productive.

But if she says it out loud, then I just have a feeling her followers would be so kind and supportive, in spite of potential problems her content might have caused.

It's not up to us to tell her she has a problem, but there's evidently something wrong and I kinda hope she's not lying to herself, for her own sake.

I've just randomly watched a Q&A with Holly and her sister after seeing her name pop up on other threads, and wow, she's annoying with all the different accents. Please don't tell me that's what she's like all the time?! 😳

Yeah she is. It’s worse with Emily. Holly took to describing herself (at 22 year’s old) as a ‘gremlin’, and it’s probably the most irritating and immature way she could act on camera!

I don’t know if any of you watch Ruby Granger, but her recent video really made me think about the different ways her and Holly seem to interpret ‘taking care of themselves’.

Ruby actually spoke about the importance of slowing down and going through her thoughts, and even though she enjoys work, she understands that working is not a form of self care, even if she likes doing it.

Holly on the other hand doesn’t slow down. She never sits down and does something for herself, or to wind down and sit with her thoughts. I used to see a lot of parallels between Holly and Ruby, but now I see that even though Ruby is younger, she’s far better at being in touch with herself.

I watched Hollys latest video with her mum. It was actually quite entertaining, her mum seems very normal and nice.

what did make me laugh was one question to Hollys mum was “if you were the same age, would you be friends with Holly?” And she basically said no😂😂

I'm very surprised at how "normal" - and nice - her mum seems!

Her Mum seemed lovely and from what ive seen of her Dad he seems quite down to earth too, I do wonder how they got their money though, isnt their house worth around 1 million. I didnt think their jobs were massively high powered ones? unless they are old money as Holly's Mum did sound frightfully posh

Her mum was a dancer and her dad is a musician (orchestral) if I remember currently.

I think her mum is originally from Preston (which isn’t exactly known for having a posh accent) so I’m extrapolating that her family is rather posh/well off

Jobs in orchestras, especially if you’re well known, often pay well. My family is in the same business as Holly’s dad (and know him through work), and they get a pretty decent income from orchestra work alongside film sessions. Hollys dad also runs his own company I think too (teaching) so he’s probs the main breadwinner!

also bare in mind the house which is now worth £1m probably wasn’t worth that 20+ years ago.... they go up in price a lot!

I'm new to Holly's channel and am wondering if she's ever said why she dislikes having (long) showers? I've just watched a video where she ran 18k then didn't shower afterwards, then commented in the evening she wasn't going to wash her hair because she likes to be in and out. I can't imagine not showering after getting so sweaty!

she’s been like that for as long as I’ve watched her (a few years). She very rarely showers after exercise and washes her hair like once a month. Never really understood it

Once a month?! Wow! 🤢
Another thing that makes it odd as well is that her mum seems to like things to be clean and in order. I’m not saying that Holly’s mum can force her to wash her hair but you’d think if her mum likes everything to be perfectly clean all the time this would also apply to her children (if that makes sense?)

Holly has v dry skin and I know people with very dry skin who find showering after exercising painful (I think the combination of sweating and showering dries the skin out more). I think if she found an actually good shampoo (non of this function of beauty crap) she'd maybe wash her hair more frequently?
