Just went on UCL's website and it says they received a high number of applications for this year which could be why they're taking a while to get back to Holly.

I think she doesn’t eat cooked meals because she’s afraid she’ll burn. She said that in a vlog if I’m not mistaken
all the food she eats just looks so bland imo, are all her family vegan or just her and her sister?

I don’t know why this girl gets a pass. Yes, she got a good grade at a top uni. But she had no real leadership positions, research internships or even a social life. Anyone can do well if they are alone 24/7 studying. I’m in the field of cancer clinical trials and it’s a smack in the face hearing her not acknowledge her privilege! I did a full intense placement year in a hospital, presented at conferences etc. Whilst working to support myself and still maintaining a very busy social life! To see someone who had no relevant work experience see this as an easy route is laughable. Getting on to the course is the easy part. Staying in research is the hard part! You need to be able to network, present and have good social and communication skills. It’s not all based on how well you memorise stuff whilst being locked up in your room alone. She needs to wake up and smell the roses!! I’m sorry if this is harsh but it’s exactly what she did with medicine! Making it seem like a easy option. Anyone can see she has no real passion for cancer research. She just wants the status and recognition for being in the field, as she needs to be seen as ‘clever’ and needs validation for every single life choice. Well this field will eat her up alive so good luck to her :)
I think that's my problem with her wanting to go into postgrad study, I came in knowing I wanted to write and research for a living but Holly doesn't seem to have thought about the actual research part of her subject? Especially because she didn't do the lab based or research based modules at undergrad which is what's now working against her in her applications.

It was uploaded 6 days ago but I think she actually did the video a day or two before then 🤢

I wonder why Holly hardly applied to any different Masters courses - she only applied to like 3/4? And now if she doesn't get into UCL, she's changing her whole plan again. When I applied for my Masters I applied for the same course at like 9 different unis!

Watched a few of her videos this morning, and it's soooo clear how immature she is. In her asexuality video, she's SO awkward talking about sex - it's so uncomfortable. How can you have gone to uni and travelled the world and not be able to even mention sex?!
Is she asexual?

I didn't watch that video and honestly can't be bothered with it. I always thought she just had other priorities (which is totally fine. I'm the same; for this moment in time, I'd prefer to get my career on track and work hard.) I don't have the headspace for a relationship (sexual or otherwise) and suspected she was just waiting until her life was more stable before involving someone else in it.

by the way, what are your opinions on her "work wednesdays" and her filming live on youtube? i think it's a good idea, people like elena handtrack used to do that during the exams period, it's a way to motivate other people to work/study along with you... however, it may affect her negatively, i think she exposes her life too much already (?)

A girl can hope! 😅😅😅 Anyone know what Emily actually does yet?
Always wondered this! In the vid where holly followed her morning routine she didn't leave for work until like 10 which isn't exactly normal 9-5, but she was also wfh during quarantine. She mentioned in a Q&A of hers that she prefers to keep it private and fair enough I think!

I don't think Youtubers/Influencers who bring out "sustainable merch" seem to realise that promoting their audience to buy extra clothing actually goes against being sustainable, even if it's sustainably sourced. It's not like her hoodies and t-shirts are necessities that people don't have already, they are definitely "added extras" that her audience is only prompted to buy because it's from Holly. It is more sustainable to not keep producing more merch and just let your audience live with what they have or shop through thrifting (which you could get way more for the price of one of her items). It you have something spectacular to add to the fashion market sure, but these are literally plain coloured clothes.
That's a good point, which I hadn't thought of!

Has she explained why she isn't just doing a PhD if she's interested in studying cancer further? It would be so easy for her to get funding with her background. A quick look on findaphd showed one at UCL with a good scholarship/stipend!

Is social media presence taken into account in uni applications?

This tiktok hardly translates to “Cambridge graduate, 22, top of my class please accept my application for a MS”

Is she high or smth? It’s a very disturbing tiktok in so many levels
Universities do have the right to look at social media, especially if it’s been mentioned that someone ‘has their own brand’ or is an ‘online blogger/vlogger’ which I presume Holly would’ve mentioned.

Hope for her sake they don’t check hers 😣
