I would love to see Unnatural Vegan (youtuber who talks about issues within the vegan community) comment on her HCLF diet... Her food makes me so so sad lol, how is eating unsalted boiled potatoes remotely adventurous
Yes! Love her, she is so balanced and “normal” for a vegan Youtuber

I'm just so confused as to why she was considering a research career when she hates labs. I know she loves learning but I'm just not sure it's right for her. I'm the same and I can't imagine anything worse.

Also how old was she in this vlog? she just seems and looks so young and I think she was maybe 20? But like I might be wrong
Not all research is lab-based. Even in science.

You'd think the Australia trip would help but it seems the trip was just a huge freebie and she isolated in her single room many times and despite been a 1st class biology grad failed to grasp the concept of hydration !
Im not sure if they are cult like but i wondered if they were religious Holly's sister has said many times she does not believe in birth control. You'd of thought a 25/26 year old women in a relationship would at least accept its useful ! She spends over £400 on a ipl device to remove her hair daily down below though so its clearly prepared in some ways 😂
Holly looks malnourished immature and doesnt display any signs she has even gone through puberty and her failure to even acknowledge periods makes me think this could be the case
Even if the trip was a huge freebie, make the most of it! Didn't enjoy her Australia vlogs and the fact she let home sickness ruin the first few weeks was frustrating. I agree though, I think its made some things worse.

And yeah, her sort of build is really common in people with eating disorders - particularly anorexia, which I think she still has some behaviours of. But also, she does have a typical dancer's body, except most people do grow out of it by 22

DISCLAIMER: i'm not an expert, and i do not intend to act as one. someone with far more knowledge than myself please confirm what i'm about to say:

i've heard that when you boil veggies, (specially broccoli) they lose their nutrients in the boiled water and it is far better to grill or steam them to preserve their vitamins
my mother has always taught me this, and according to Dr. Google, it says some vegs may lose up to 50% of their vitamin C!
which is very worrying taking into consideration that holly boils all her vegs!🤷‍♀️
also much tastier! boil brocolli is just water sodden mush, it is as if she does everything she can to make her food tasteless

hang on- didn’t she do some work experience a while back in the cancer field??? And didn’t she say it wasn’t for her???
Do you remember where she said it? Just out of curiosity, I remember her being quite good at pathology at uni so thought it might have been up her street

also, it’s worth considering that while the apparent quantity of food Holly ate/eats seems like a lot, when you’re only eating tonnes of fruit and boiled up veg, it wouldn’t amount to a lot of fuel for the body! Especially fruit, which is mainly sugar. A higher quantity would really be needed to properly fuel the body and help holly put on some weight.
Agreed. I also noticed she time lapses eating and often skips from a full potion to an empty bowl/plate, I wouldn't be surprised if she threw the rest of the food away and then captured the empty bowl/plate.

I have to agree with this, if she honestly did have such a bad relationship with her parents would she really get so homesick every time she left home, her parents visited her a fair amount at Uni, they all waved her off at the airport when she went travelling and they were in touch nearly every day. They may not get along very well but from a parents point of view too i cant imagine Holly is an easy child to parent with all her addictions/obsessions
sounds about right

My friend applied for another UCL MA course starting in September too and the closing date for applications for that course was sept 4. Don’t think it’s fair to say Holly has no chance now just because she hasn’t heard back yet.
is this for this year?! is so this seems crazy as finding accomodation etc is so hard

I am optimistic about Paige! She seems very articulate and generally posts interesting content that aren't all "studying for 24 hours straight"

I am very intrigued to see where she goes with her channel now she's working but also studying at the same time! I'm keeping my hopes up!

I recommend her friend, Astrid as well. She is super down to earth and "normal" as well. She struggles with depression and I loved how honest she was throughout her time at Cambridge. It was refreshing!
Oooh thanks for the rec! What's Astrid's youtube channel (feel free to DM me if it's better so it doesn't disrupt the thread)

she probably only wants to go to what she considers prestige Unis in posh privileged areas, i doubt you get her applying to a Uni in a deprived poor Northen area
I don't think anyone would jump to apply to a uni in a bad area or one that's struggling financially if they could help it! (pretty much why the list of universities facing insolvency isn't known to the public) But yeah I do get your point.

I think her prices say a lot about her financial background.
Not only her tutoring fees but narna too...
In what way?? That because she charges a lot she has a lot of money?

If so I agree.... but that’s off her own back, nothing to do with her family really, unless they helped set up narna!

I know she used to dance and was really successful when she did (she trained part time at Bird College as a Junior alongside other dance schools), so I just don’t understand why she looks so awkward and weird doing that dance.

It’s definitely not Holly’s style in the first place, but thank god she didn’t go down the dancing career if she can’t actually dance without grimacing and making silly faces.

She should just try something more her tbh.

I work for a uni and we are getting desperate sounding emails from admissions asking us to help them clear their backlog! The U turn on A level results must have really messed everything up so I'm not surprised that UCL took a bit more time to get back to her.
What do you mean, what are they asking you to do? Sorry random Q, I'm just interested 😂

Yep. She ran during the heat and then drank a huge amount of water thus deluding the amount of sodium in her body to the point where it shut down on her.
To think someone like that considered nutrition is honestly scary. Especially since it seems like she hasn’t learned anything from that experience.

I once got a terrible headache from running because I drank too much water and pushed myself too far but ever since then I’ve been very aware of what I eat and drink, so something like
this doesn’t happen again.
I could easily see Holly doing the exact same thing on her next trip to somewhere hot 🤦🏼‍♀️
god that is crazy and so serious! how was that not a wake up call for her?!

WAIT WHAT ???
How can one not believe in birth control ? What is there to believe ?
My thoughts exactly.... not exactly a belief... more just a choice whether or not to take it?? They don’t need to make every little thing they do a full on personality trait ffs.

like with Holly, any ‘new AMAZING discovery’ will literally become a personality trait. Whether it was her freakish obsession with bananas or her addiction to running.... everything is just obsessive

Even the vegan society says that medications are an exception to veganism, so vegans shouldn't beat themselves up because there are no vegan medications.
Exactly! It’s like.... Option 1: don’t take certain medications and either become really ill or have something happen which you don’t want or Option 2: take the medication to keep you alive/well??

although they’re both pretty obsessive so idk whether they’d actually take medications which aren’t vegan friendly.... it’s like 100% or failure sorta thing
