She did great. Well done Holly. I’ve got to give it to her, she excels at everything she puts her mind to.

How do you figure? It's about five minutes outside of what she was aiming for.
She qualified and completed it at pro level against others at or above her level. She showed up , remember she was contemplating (not sure how true) not going due to expenses or being halfway across the world.

Anyway I wonder where they are planning to go next.

I would highly doubt it is true that she considered not going - I think it was their way of trying to play people/grifting.

I'd probably stay in London if I was them (does Hyrox have an off season) - they can live at home and have reliable access to a gym. If they really are as financially hard up as they say, that seems hard to turn down.

Confused as to why they’re claiming they’re hard up on money when these gyms and travelling cost thousands? Plus they have income from being landlords?

I've been catching up on their videos and I have some notes:

  • Holly shockingly appears to be putting on muscle and even said that she wants to put on muscle in her thighs. Before she said that the thickness of her legs was one of the main reasons why she ended up developing body dysmorphia so I wonder how that mental shift came about.
  • Holly's hair is so dead and neglected. I don't understand why she is keeping it at this length if she isn't going to take care of it
  • They keep saying that they're broke which is high key annoying
  • They claim to train 16 hours a week which is more than 2 hours everyday. There's no way they are properly recovering.
  • A lot of the videos of them training show them do the exact same exercises side by side and in sync which I find weird but less weird than the his and hers stationary bike scenes where they are facing each other for some reason?
  • In the video about how close they are to elite15 level they are comparing stats many of which are not useful but the thing that got me was Holly estimating her times for certain events instead of comparing her actual times. For example, she stated she thinks she can run a 3:05 marathon time right now even though her last time was 3:18 and her hyrox intervals are not the same as long distance running.

I watched the end of the men’s Elite 15 Hyrox race on You Tube. I thought it was exciting and looked like a great atmosphere. Albeit a crazy endeavour that seems really bad for potentially getting injured!

Also watched a documentary about how Hyrox got its start and how it has grown. The sport has really taken off this year. Interestingly the founder doesn’t want to work with influencers who aren't actually competitive gym people. (I am talking to you James Charles lmao 🤣)

So, are people here against Hyrox per se? Or more against Holly’s training and competing to the nth degree and her lofty goals, and Angelo making statements like he and Holly are progressing faster in their Hyrox training than any other Hyrox athletes in the world?
I think Hyrox is a stupid made up sport but I guess people can do it if they want but to me it seems like one of those sports that's been made to sell a product rather than something that's organic.

What's fun about running is being outside, fresh air, seeing the scenery change and being out and about. Hyrox is in a big indoor arena mainly right? So that's the main appeal of running gone.

Similarly - the strength training stuff I enjoy is the progressive overload, seeing my numbers go up over time - other than that it's pretty boring.

Hyrox has none of the aspects I enjoy about either running or strength training so for me it is a pointless endeavour.

I can see it's a challenging circuit, and pretty cool to see if you can do it - like a tough mudder or a marathon. But it's not a real sport, it'll trend out for something else in a few years.

She did great all things considered! I mean I couldn’t do that. I’ve done mixed doubles and a relay and that’s hard enough. But for her goals she has a long way to go. She got a bit slower too in this race.

I wouldn’t call it stupid. It’s a lot of fun. You don’t have to buy into all the extras. Yes it’s a fad. But it tests your strength and endurance as a hybrid athlete.

I thought it was ridiculous too how they were talking about the predicted times as though they had actually achieved them. Yes there fitness I must be improving with all the training but if they aren’t specifically doing long distance training then surely the half marathon and marathon predictions must be really off. Surely holly couldn’t just run a 3.06 marathon now
