Hen do weekend advice

I went to a hen do in Liverpool a few years ago which was really good. We stayed in an apartment block, had a butler in the buff, boozy brunch, cocktail making class and went to a magic Mike type show. It was all booked through a stag & hen website too which made it easier for the organiser as we all just paid straight into the website.

Booking it direct with a specialised company is a good idea - I did that and it meant that the girls could pay their share in installments direct to the company... only had to chase a couple at the end to pay it all off it time.... was def less stressful than collecting money or paying out my own funds up front and running the risk of being out of pocket !

I’ve been to bath and Bristol on hen dos, both were great.
Bath you also have the option of the spa during the day (which we did)
I second Bath for sure!! Loads to do in the day, spa, hire boats on the river and row to the pub, great shops, tons of lovely bars and places to eat too. And it’s flipping beautiful 😻

I’m organising a hen weekend in Brighton and wondered if any Tattlers could recommend nighttime venues? I’d love to find somewhere with live music where you could have a dance.

There is a range of ages coming along so somewhere suitable for that and really want to avoid other big groups of hens i.e. venues catering specifically for them.

Also if you can think of any must do activities. Thanks so much 🙏

Thanks to the OP for starting the thread. I started planning for the weekend last January and had lots of research done. The couple have had to move the wedding 3 times and picking it all back up again things have really gone up in price. Had some lovely Airbnb’s bookmarked that either aren’t available or are now prohibitively expensive. Hotels are £30+ more per person per night. Really wanting to keep things to a relatively low cost but it’s tricky.

I went to Liverpool for my hen a few years ago and loved it! We did cocktail making which was such good fun.

Never ever front money expecting people to pay their share of a deposit or hotel. I couldn’t even get 10% deposits out of people when I was a MoH I’m so relieved I didn’t front that money or the total house for the bride despite the immense pressure!

Thanks for all your replies! We have decided to go with Manchester for December.... hit me with any ideas of places to go and any must see things. We have rented a big apartment through a hen website near the quayside so looking forward to it. Luckily everyone has paid upfront and committed already so made my life a bit easier lol!

I’ve never been to Manchester but always hear ‘Boujee’ restaurant and bar being mentioned on social media. I think it’s pretty instagrammable if that’s the vibe you’re going for! Then there’s ‘Alberts Shloss’ which is a Bavarian style beer cellar so it’s a big space with benches and I think there’s usually live music on so its probably a bit of fun and you’re likely to bump into some stags there too:)

Going to ride on the coat tails of this thread and also ask if anyone has any good places in mind for a London hen in regards to restaurants and clubs/bars? Any help would be appreciated☺

I went in a great hen do in Manchester where they hired a canal boat, basically had a private boat to ourselves with a bar man and took our own playlist of music and did games, boat had disco lights 😂 it was awesome and we were on it a couple of hours and a did a loop around Manchester
