I didn't realise he was with her right before she died 😔

Others have said they are both adults so each had personal responsibility. I partially agree but not completely. If I can handle alcohol, it doesn't mean I would drink with someone who has an addiction to alcohol. I wouldn't be encouraging them and if anything, I would go the opposite way and not drink at all around them.
I'm an alcoholic in recovery and take full responsibility for my own sobriety, but if I relapsed and one of my friends drank with me rather than encouraged me to get help, I'd think they were a pretty shit friend, to be honest.

Similarly, if I'd relapsed and one of my friends was sober and in recovery, then I'd stay well away from them in order to protect their sobriety. I'd never drink with anyone who struggles with alcohol. At best, it's thoughtless, and at worst it's encouraging someone who is very unwell to stay unwell.

Her mother did everything she could in that statement to deflect from her own duty of care towards her daughter. What a passive, emotionless and detached account of her daughter’s suffering, basically saying oh well most child stars end up this way so what ya gonna do 🤷🏼‍♀️ it read like she was removing herself from any narrative that says she wasn’t a good support and putting on the blame on the ex. Yes he is to blame but her mother was also a massive let down and could have done more to help and support her daughter.

I felt devastated reading on Monday morning about Hayden’s death, my heart dropped like a stone and I just felt so so sad.

I’ve been googling her periodically to get answers I suppose

I am 2 years younger than Hayden so I remember as a teen being really jealous of her beauty 😂

I read her autobiography when it came out. It’s really insightful into her narc mother, and also her relationship with Wlad, he was quite emotionally unavailable and she was a deep sensitive soul, quite the mismatch. She didn’t get much help from him with her postpartum, they actually spent their whole relationship with him living in Germany and her in the US, and he was always glued to his phone doing business.

I could really relate to her because my own mother is a narcissist (and trust me I don’t just throw that round easily, it’s amazing I survived my childhood). I used to use alcohol to numb everything but I’m 8 years sober now. I wish life had been kinder to Hayden, she was a very kind human.

Speaking as someone who has a loved one in a very similar situation (extensively abused by her narc mother, sexually abused from a very young age, totally addicted to heroin by 18, kids being raised by the father, etc) I hate the sad inevitably of so much of this.

I hope for the best for her child, and am very glad for the solid father. The sober parent in these equations often gets ignored or maligned, but they're the ones doing the heavy lifting.

God, my heart dropped like a stone to find this out

I read her autobiography, she had such a tragic, hard life. Her mother was a narcissist and her dad was a good man. She lost her brother who she was so close to from an accidental overdose. Her poor father losing both of his children.

If he isn't I already dread how he will use her death since he would be the "grieving boyfriend". A couple of months ago he gave this interview where he seemed incredibly proud of his abuse (watch the whole clip, especially his expression at 0:50)

God, what a knob. He sounds like he has one brain cell.

Her mum’s statement reads like something an old work colleague would say, not a mum… ☹

"Young people who grow up in the entertainment industry — it is a struggle and it’s a very challenging industry and it’s not unusual for them to sadly find the wrong path. I think it becomes very difficult to be true to yourself, and I think Hayden sadly lost her way, and I wish it were different. I wish she had stayed true to herself because she had many incredible attributes,” she told NBC News.

She said when she was 18 on a yacht a trusted friend led her into a bedroom where a naked guy was in bed expecting her to join him. Said he was a very famous British thirty something year old singer/songwriter. Said he came across like he was used to that kind of scenario. Whom might the now 50+ singer/songwriter be....?
The rumours were it was James Blunt.

I just watched the pilot episode of Heroes for the first time in years.

Had forgotten how good she was in it. The whole cast were but despite her young age, Hayden was a real stand out. The scene were she rescues a man from a fire is a real "fuck yeah!" moment.

A very underappreciated actor as far as her talent goes, imho.
Reminds me of Brittany Murphy in that it's sad she never got to fully make a comeback and prove what she could do.

Kid stars with awful parent/s in Hollywood are passed around pedalo rings. They can be passed between famous actors, directors, wealthy businessmen, arabs basically anyone who's part of their ring and pay etc. The kids have no say in it. They say it happened to Hayden, Linday Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Bella Thorne, Britney Spears, Amanda Bynes etc and they are treated appallingly. Really abused in every way possible. In return they get big roles as kids.

The guys are not immune either, many child male stars talk of the hollywood pedalo sex rings, but they are quickly silenced. Some never speak out about it, like allegedly Mac Culkin.

Apparently we'd be shocked if we knew of the every day famous names that take part in these heinous crimes and have for years.

It came close to being revealed in a blind about one of the ring leaders a few years ago. There were blinds everywhere about a family man A list actor who was the head of one of the sex rings, and I was hopeful it would come out. Suddenly it was all silenced and swept under the rug. Drives me mad. How anyone can sleep at night knowing this goes on, and the perversion of these men, is beyond me.

Nickelodeon shows and Disney shows are apparently some of the biggest offenders. They prey on kids who's parents will do anything for money and fame.

Didn’t she have a horrible time with her ex and their daughter? He took full custody and she could hardly see her daughter. I think her ex husband is the Ukrainian boxer? Cannot remember his name. I’ve always had a sense of sorrow for her. I’d read she was abused when she was younger and exploited as a young girl in Hollywood then felt like her ex exploited those things about her to get full custody of their daughter
She had genuine issues when she and Wladimir separated, she said so herself that it was better for the child to grow up in a stable life in Europe. She did say in some interviews that she didn't want it that restrictive, but in recent years she has spend more time with her daughter and never really talked badly of him.

The abusive ex is the one she got a restraining order against in 2021. And it looks like they were back together judging by what tmz wrote?

I swear I have heard rumours about James Blunt for years now. Often they were kind of "he goes through women fast" type of rumours, but idk I always found him a bit fishy in that regard. Seeing the name pop up now doesn't surprise me as much as it probably should.
He was friends with Carrie Fisher, they did drugs together and he was with her the night before she died. Whether he did drugs with her that night or didn't try to stop her from taking them her daughter Billie has partly blamed him for her death and banned him from her funeral.

I've been in complete shock about her death since the news broke in the early hours.

I was a huge Heroes fan for season one and watched until around the time they turned Mohinder into a bug which was when I knew the show was then very much not for me. That first season though is still some brilliant telly and Hayden really helped carry it as Claire.

I am just so sad because I know she has had some awful troubles in her life, with a mum who used her as a cash cow, but with the memoir and how she was opening up about things more I'd hope that meant she was healing.

There are so many stories today from people who worked with her about what a nice person she was, it's really heartbreaking.

Maybe the death of her brother a few years back was too much to bear?

The media and sm have been wretched to her for many years but of course today everyone is in tears.

RIP Hayden, I wish you had been shown more kindness. 💔

She was suffering from back pain a while ago. I wonder if that kept her on the drugs as she was trying to self medicate.

It's just so sad to see yet another child star who got chewed up and spit out by the machine + exploited by her parents. She deserved so much better but I appreciate her for being so open about her struggles.

I hope her daughter is being brought up in a safe environment - i.e. away from Hollywood.
