Mr Mice is undergoing palliative care for advanced prostate cancer. Our daughter in law is undergoing treatment for a very aggressive breast cancer. She has undergone radical surgery, has had two lots of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, She isn't being given more, because the cancer isn't responding to it. Twice she has thought she'd conquered it - and it has come back, metastisizing in other organs. She is also undergoing palliative care, and receiving radiation therapy. She and my son came home thrilled from the hospital a few weeks ago because they are giving her a new drug which might give her as much as a year. They have a small son. A child she has to hide from when she returns from treatment because the residual radiation in her body means it is unsafe for her to hug him until the levels go down. These are the people I need my sympathy for.
The king has the best treatment available. He gets attention as and when he needs is. He has someone to take the load off his shoulders if it gets too much, and doesn't need to worry about extra work falling on already stressed and exhausted family members. Most of the population are stuck on waiting lists, driving many miles to hospital appointments, coming home exhausted after treatment and unable to even cuddle a child. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but if a selfish, over-privileged man who doesn't even have to put his own toothpaste onto his brush is expecting me to consider his health, he can just duck off.
I'm not writing this to ask for anyone's pity - I'm writing it because this is a fact of life for far too many people, some of them only children - who are enduring exhausting treatment and whose families are coping without complaint, and without the resources that the RF have to support them.
To watch this spoiled, petulant cat of a man bring his spoiled, petulant cat of a son back, while this once wonderful country rapidly declines makes me so bleeping angry! Let's face it. Hazno will NEVER suffer, no matter what he does or where he lives. he is a cowardly little nonentity who is nothing without the RF and has found out the hard way.
