BIB - I long for the days when you went into a café and got a choice of tea or coffee. And that was it. Much less choice, but we were more appreciative. (Somewhat hypocritical as nowadays I only drink espresso or macchiato)

Life was so much easier. Also - it was rare to have a cuppa outside our own home - it was a real treat to get a cup of tea and a toasted teacake brought to your table. And I also liked that you got extra hot water with your cup pot of tea. It was just so civilised.

It's a sweet bun (bready not cakey) with fruit, toasted and smothered with butter. It's a thing of beauty, a good fruit cake.

In less good news I now have a confirmed diagnosis of cancer, but to keep on topic I am declining all care packages from Montecito and hoping I can style it out as well as PoW has!

Last few Governments have let our Armed Forces dwindle in number and have to work with small budgets etc. So they haven't come to the rescue.

I don't believe this story as told. Someone cautioned who "had possession" (printed?) of her medical records and planned to sell them, had maybe shown them to a buyer? Who else had seen them? This report imo is in response to something else that they thought would go away and hasn't, or it didn't happen and the story of the "caution" is to downplay the hacking to the level of a parking-ticket for a specific reason. Nothing to see here, move on.

It's not credible that the hacker saw the records and was "cautioned", as it's a criminal offence. Did the hacker see any other patient's medical records at the same time?

The staff person lost their job, and most likely their professional license (if applicable) and, with this on their record, is now unemployable in their profession. So they didn't get off scot-free, though I agree that criminal charges would be appropriate. I'm wondering if Catherine and William made a strategic decision to not pursue charges in order to minimize the attention given to this breach and to Catherine's condition.

She tells them off, and keeps them in line, but would lay down her life for them.

I have to admit that I've wished (more than once) that Charlotte was the oldest. It's just she seems temperamentally much more suited to the monarch's role than either of her brothers. And I think this country does better under a Queen Regnant. Just MHO.

She'd be a cracker of a monarch! Just like her Auntie Anne would have been if she'd had the chance.

I'm going to try to work out the way the monarchy would have gone if the first born of either sex had been chosen, starting at William the first.
