By the sounds of it many of the trafficked children might be dead by now seeing as it happened years ago. There's no excuse for not paying out to the elderly ones who are still alive though.
A quarter are already dead and this is being dragged out. Why they extended the deadline for two years in September 2020 to 2022 is anyone's guess. Six months later the low offer, and more wrangling and begging letters causing delay.
The victim who has written to KC is 80.

I find the whole thing baffling in that I don’t understand why it’s even a charitable issue. The horrific crimes were not something the Prince’s Trust was responsible for so why did they ever take it on? The compensation has been determined by two government enquiries, both here and in Australia and I thought the Australian one had already paid out tens of millions? It was all sanctioned and supported at state level by all accounts, despite both governments being aware of what was going on decades before putting a stop to it. The government here should have stepped up, not handed it off.

I think perhaps KCIII felt there was a bit of royal culpability because over its long history, Fairbridge had royal patrons, Edward VIII and the then Duke of Gloucester. But he still should never have touched it with a barge pole! I know he’s one of the charitable world’s very biggest donation gatherers so maybe he thought he could gather enough rich people to help fund the compensation.

But people donating to charity want to know their money is being used fund future projects doing some good in the world. It should have been basic common sense that it would be impossible to find donors to fund compensation for past crimes, no matter just how vital it is that the victims do get it. It seems the Prince’s Trust had been pretty dim if they thought anyone would cough up enough to fund multi millions for this. All that it’s done is that a well intentioned ambition has involved the charity in scandal it didn’t need to have anything to do with. Stupid frankly!

That was me complaining about the ad. So annoying. The spoiler etc functions are quite spotty for me.

Thank you so much I was so outraged when mum told me about them berating her for not feeding me properly. Like seriously WTF. Controlling b&+_(_(s all of them - they're always so angry with my parents for not being more controlling - apparently I shouldn't be breathing on my own either

I'm just getting things ready for tomorrow, the Pup's sick (100% they're sending us bad vibes), and I've got a 100+ fever again, and am trying to set things up with my CA so too much to do to spare them much thought. The thought of buying my vinyl cutter plotter sustains me all the goodies I'll get to share here! I'll share the holo stuff I've been gathering/celebrating with - bought mum a vintage book about watercolours, holo glitters for myself, Pup will soon get a new toy and dad will an ice cream treat.

Oooh the breathing on my own thing brought up the thought that I'm not a Flatpack/doll wrapped in a shawl/a moonbump that pops all that dodgy pressing... And then their silence. Sparry of all people knows how damaging such rumours can be, he's just so selfish and cruel, basically.

ETA: He would have fit in well with my relatives. She, well, she looks and behaves so much like my uncle's wife that she already is a relative.

Hilarious article by Dorothy Someone in DE about Carole Middleton's cracking pair of legs. Comments very funny and someone thinks Dorothy fancies Carole. Another poster suggests Carole use her cracking pair of legs to walk to the bank. And this...

"My wife also had a cracking pair of legs, I think it was because she had osteoporosis though.. Also this article is totally pointless. I think the writer has some sort of obsession."

Interesting piece of clarification, I wasn’t aware of the intricacies of it.
Would I be correct in assuming that sale from administration is actually the better option for small creditors? In traditional liquidation the preferential creditors, HMRC & banks, come first and take all that they can, but in this route all lose out but smaller creditors actually get something?

Exactly - once an administrator is appointed Carole can’t actually contact anyone or answer emails, just direct them on so she hasn’t done anything wrong. If she had sold up before the pandemic she probably would have made a lot of money and probably won’t now.

Re the Fairbridge Society, it would be interesting to see from the accounts how much the administrators made from this over the years.
My suspicion would be that the assets of the Society were paid into the restored company that was then wound up to preserve the sum. The number of claims may have increased over time, now unfortunately decreasing, & the level of compensation was not known at the time. Now the final figures are known it’s more than the capital available so each claim is allocated a percentage until all the money is gone. A decision made by the administration as it’s their job to do this.
I don’t think that it’s fair to pin this on The King, as he’s no more able to magic funds out of his butt than I am. I can imagine the squeals from the anti-monarchists if he tried to divert the surpluses from the exchequer to this.

In other news, apparently Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested for questioning into the SNP finances.

So, after all the negative comments about giving Archie a bike when they should have given one to a child in need Mad Dogs and Englishmen Bike Shop are now donating a bike to an underprivileged child.
Sounds more like damage limitation and the poor kid that gets this donated bike will no doubt get paraded like a show pony to show their ‘generosity’ to the poor and needy

Secured creditors (bank/mortgage etc) and preferential creditors like HMRC and employees always get paid first with remaining going to unsecured creditors such as trade creditors if anything is left. The sale has realised monies which wouldn't have been generated in a liquidation.

I've seen bonkers stuff from squad members about why doesn't POW settle the debts with his duchy money- he can't it's not his. Why dont the children buy the Company they cant there are rules around this and why would they plunge millions in to loose it when its not a going concern. Why don't the family sell their house to settle the debt?why would they?House bought from personal wealth not in company name- where would they live and sale wouldn't settle the debt. Why didn't W get the media not to report this K is being taught a lesson they are getting divorced!? Bull sh*t it's a matter of public record and a legal matter so no one will stop the reporting - it's not like certain individuals hiding their business affairs in certain states. W & K look very much in love.

Oh okay. I've been jumping all over the thread and not reading it completely so missed that. That sounds interesting, the site should be able to fix this though. I'm considering changing my device soon, will see if that helps.

Sitting with the Pup in dad's darkened room - he had the AC on a while ago so it's still a bit cool. Poor thing is looking so fragile, though he's in full spirits.

Not likely to call a press conference to whinge about feeling poorly
