So chuffed there is a thread for this! Gutted it's all over next week I've a friend who thinks it will turn out Catherine has been a bad egg this whole time but I refuse to believe it. I do think it won't be a happy ending though, Ryan chooses TLR & Claire is curtains is my prediction. (Based on no evidence, just a guess!)

no offence to your friend but the idea of Catherine being bad is absolutely ludicrous I think they’ve missed the entire point of the show

The only disappointment is the Feisal Rob story. They seemed to try and cram too many issues into the Rob character without having enough time to develop them

as soon as I saw him I said to my fam, I bet he's hard as fuck.
I think Tommy is out of his depth in that house but just doesn't know it lol

Is it too much to ask to just see Ryan & his Granny drive off to the Himalayas (after his GCSE’s obvs ) I just want Ryan to realise how much Catherine has done to protect him & also for her to know he loves her just as much!

Would also like to see Catherine get her closure with The Lone Ranger dead, preferably after some gratuitous naked scenes.

And I NEED to know why that little girl won’t take her bloody coat off.

Trauma, Attachment disorder, witnessing abuse/DV… I read a book on it due to my autistic daughter and how I can help her. It’s a common trait of a child who’s experiencing those kind of awful environments. It was subtle but very sad.

I can see how a lot of these tie in together but these are at least some of the loose ends left to tie up (though they could be red herrings). Sally is an excellent writer but there’s a lot to do!!!

- Alison?
- the dodgy clutch
- Faisal being blackmailed by the Knezevics
- Faisal getting done for the pills and Joanna’s murder
- Relatedly, the teacher getting found innocent
- The teacher’s daughters coming up with some evidence
- The teacher also receiving a proportionate punishment for narrative reasons eg losing his job
- Darius running for councillor
- Richard’s investigations
- The Knezevics overall, especially the higher-ups
- The Knezevic lads, the murder of the person they were cuckooing, the money in the rucksack, and their role in TLR’s escape
- TLR/Ryan/Catherine plot
- Catherine’s retirement
- The TLR/Knezevic escape tension
- Nevison making an appearance of some description for literally any reason as he’s been referenced multiple times now and has done fuck all
- Neil and Clare’s relationship
- Catherine and Clare’s relationship
- Potentially, an encounter between Anne and TLR. They’ve been hinting at it but could see this not happen tbh
- Anne proving herself in some way as otherwise shes not done much either beyond today

Anne was right and a lot of it needed to be said but she could’ve left out the stuff about nobody wanting Ryan. He’s obviously gonna take that as its own thing

Catherine was vile to pretty much everyone in that episode.

On my rewatch, the kindness of Clare, her lack of judgement. Catherine’s fucked up there.

I felt for Clare there, she is naive and easily swayed but she's not a bad person. Catherine was really nasty to her, totally denigrated her character, but I also really felt for her and her sense of betrayal and of course totally understand why she feels the way she does. I didn't much 'like' Catherine in this episode but to me that's the sign of a well written character, no one is likeable all the time.

I went from crying when Catherine and Clare embraced to laughing in 5 seconds flat.

I think he genuinely believes he loved her. I need to watch the whole 3 series again, but I think he did.

A lot of abusers and psychos express love that way, it's the only way they can. It's very twisted but that's why I think the humanising of TLR at the end was the right way to go. He is a deeply troubled and twisted individual, but in his mind he is doing the right thing
