My hangovers can be so bad I can't eat and I hardly drink the day after  I have bad habits of mixing wine with spirits but i can't help myself ,when i was in my early twenties it was never that bad 😂

I love going out drinking but stopped as I feel so awful to the point I just try and prevent them by drinking water towards the end of the night and make sure I have eaten.

I have realised most my hangover symptoms aren't drink induced at all. It is the lack of sleep, breaking from routine and eating/drinking late that affects me.

I went to see adele on Saturday. I didn't drink as I had to drive to London due to train strikes. I ended up getting a macdonalds on the way home (around midnight) and went to bed about 1.30am.

On Sunday, despite not waking up until 9.30 so having over 7 hours sleep, I felt like shit. Headache, body aches, sicky all my usual hangover symptoms! And I hadn't had a single drink 😭

If it's really bad, I cannot drink still water or juice it will make me sick so I just drink fizzy all day.. especially diet coke, that really helps me. I try and eat something fatty like a McDonalds breakfast or fry up and then take a nap and then force myself out of bed and have a shower or just wash my hair. If I stay in bed all day it usually makes me feel so much worse.

If it's not that bad, fizzy water or diet coke again.. and I just eat all day.. doesn't matter what it is, I'm just pure hungry all day lol.

I wish this were the case for me but alcohol definitely fucks my system up. Even 2 glasses of wine at 5pm and an early bed and I can wake up rough.

However I will say that being exhausted and late nights can definitely mimic hangover symptoms too. So combine alcohol and all the other crap, late nights, less sleep and its like a melting pot of how shit will I feel.

Reading this thread with a disgusting Prosecco hangover 🤢

Ever since having my baby last year I just cannot drink without feeling absolutely dying the next day. I’ve been up being sick since 6am, my head is banging and I feel like the walking dead!!

I should have steered clear of Prosecco because I know that’s one of my worst drinks for hangovers… has anyone found a drink that doesn’t seem to give you such a bad one?
Vodka!

Glass of water inbetween each drink (becomes harder the more you drink as you forget but I try). Pint of water and a lucozade sport before bed. Another lucozade sport, ton of water and paracetamol when you wake up. Something stodgy for breakfast like scrambled eggs on toast helps too

I try to eat fatty carbs before I drink and while drinking I try to have a couple of waters and keep the mixing to a minimum. Then before bed I chug a whole bottle of water or - if I’m already feeling nauseous - sprite! I read somewhere a while ago that sprite can be a miracle cure for hangovers and ever since then I really feel like it helps. Does it or is it the placebo effect? who knows 😂

If this all fails I usually can’t do anything except hoping to get sick and then have lots of water / sprite, paracetamol for the headache, tea with lots of sugar for comfort and eventually another carb-meal.

My hangover scale

Lethal hangover: No cure, lie in bed all day, frequent trips to the bathroom to vomit. Can't even eat.

Heavy Hangover: Probably sleep late, also not eat until well into the afternoon. Won't enjoy it that much but it helps a few hours later.

Medium Hangover: Up close to the usual wake up time. Feel a bit misty eyed but can function normally. Eat something full of grease then pretty much right as rain.

Light Hangover: Enjoy the day, and get back on it if not at work and the opportunity arises.
This is bang on for me.

Generally speaking I sit between a one and a two. A two these days feels like I have got off lightly haha. There are some great suggestions on this thread.
I genuinely envy those who can just get up and get on with it. It’s so weird how some people get it so bad, I’ve never really understood it. My husband is one of those people and it’s sooooo annoying!

This is interesting! I haven't really had a hangover for a year or so as I have no social life atm :ROFLMAO: but mine is always a fizzy drink like sprite and something spicy, making a tortilla wrap at home if I am capable, or nandos takeaway if not!
The best thing though is to try and drink a load of water before you go to sleep, if you can remember and don't just spill it all over your bedside table :ROFLMAO:

I find gin gives me a sore head but no nausea.

Good quality red wine isnt too bad either. White wine gives me a terrible hangover.

However if I have 10 gins then Im still rough. It is about quantity for me and I am bad for drinking to excess.

My hangovers got much worse after having my children too I don’t know if it’s because I was not drinking for nearly a year while pregnant 😂
Prosecco and wine also give me the worst hangovers. My hangovers aren’t as bad if I drink a lower ABV drink like a gin liqueur or Malibu - or aperol spritz if it’s summer 🍹

I'm on day 2 of my hangover 😫
I went to sleep on Sunday morning at 4.30, woke up at 5.30 and tried everything to get back to sleep but nothing worked.

I'm never sick but yesterday I spent the day with my head in the toilet and today I've sat crying every 5 minutes while trying to work.

Normally I can get a shower, have a mcdonalds and get on with my life. These past 2 days I've wanted to world to swallow me up.
What did you drink? I find that if I drink wine my hangovers are usually manageable but if I drinks spirits I’m a write off
