I wonder what it is about middle class women of a certain age? Hmmmmm. Is it because they finally have the "luxury/luck/privilege" of getting to a point in life where they have garnered a bit of the power and financial security that you have that they can afford to say "fuck this, I'm going to talk about this now!" and they can feel a bit more comfortable that there won't be terrible negative consequences?

The reason younger women and particularly women of colour (regardless of age) do not speak out is because it is so hard for them to have that level of power where they won't suffer consequences. Yes, Gregggg, it's not right, is it.

THIS is the reason that it is overwhelmingly this demographic that has made the formal complaints. I'd bet my life there's many more who would like to who couldn't for fear.

Hopefully they will now and have some protection.

I am SO glad all this has come to light. I had the misfortune of spending 3-4 days with him a few years ago during a work venture, he was the most self-absorbed vile piece of trash I have ever laid eyes on.

He was so rude and dismissive of me, called me ‘kid’ the entire time even though I’m older than his wife and never bothered to learn my actual name, made constant ‘jokes’ that never landed well and always either had a homophobic, racist or sexist undertone.

Of course I was too worried to ever say anything about him to my workplace, or the agency that supplied him, but good riddance to him, it’s everything he deserves and more.

Long time lurker, first time poster as this is the first time I’ve had any tea. A couple of years ago, whilst working in TV production, a popular game show was filming a celebrity special in studio. Gregg was partnered with another female presenter. All celeb partners shared a dressing room/green room area, but I was asked to locate another dressing room for Gregg’s partner as per her request, and was told she had a problem with him, which raised a few eyebrows amongst the crew. All makes sense now.

Even if he is autistic he would have been made aware that he’s acting or saying inappropriate things to be able to manage his own behaviour. Those with autism though struggle with social cues if they are able to understand a ‘rule’ they will usually earnestly follow it rigidly. Gregg’s either never had his behaviour put in check OR he simply ignores and does what he wants as he’s clearly very capable.

Im autistic. I don’t struggle with social cues and I don’t blindly or ‘earnestly’ follow arbitrary rules even when I am ‘able to understand’ them.
Autistic people are not one homogeneous group , and as described in another post, we are also not a class of 7 and 8 year olds.
Anyone’s response to rules in primary school is likely to be different as adults.
Autism does not necessarily include a learning disability and it reads here as though LD has been conflated with ND.
An autistic person can flout rules and be as inappropriate as the next person.
Autistic people can differentiate between wrong and right, appropriate or inappropriate and we can choose our behaviour just as much as NT people.
We can also be impulsive and thoughtless, narcissistic and selfish just like anyone else.
Whether or not he’s autistic is irrelevant here .

I have worked with people who are mildly autistic ( they make excellent computer programmers and software engineers) and not one of them tools offensive jokes, groped people or walked round naked with a sock on their dick!

How do you know it wasn’t? The producers obviously thought it was inappropriate for it be excluded from the final edit.

I’ve been in various uncomfortable, inappropriate situations in work environments, not only with men I might add, and didn’t make formal complaints about any of them. Do you want to know why? I was young, scared of rocking the boat, and didn’t want to make the situation worse. It would be different now I’m more senior and established in my job. But if I heard of one of the same people who made me uncomfortable at work had done something to someone else, rest assured I would speak out now, decades later, to support the other victims.

Making rape jokes, referring to professional women as derogatory or sexual names, making it known you aren’t wearing underwear, and walking about with only a sock over your genitals…AT WORK…is not ok.

My adult daughter has always been ashamed of her autism diagnosis which she has had since the age of 2. Now "autism" is used as a flag to brandish when individuals are rightfully challenged re their unacceptable and repulsive behaviours.

I feel for autistic people who have to live and manage this highly complex and often distressing condition when they read about these oxygen thieves who just belittle and ridicule the diagnosis which they have no doubt bought or acquired after an online assessment from pop up "clinics".

I teach autistic kids of 7 and 8 years. They all know and understand what behaviours are expected and unexpected, and that unexpected behaviours make people uncomfortable, so we don't do them. It's not rocket science to get that point across in a way they understand. Neuro divergence is not an excuse for being a pervy twat and making all your interactions centre around what a sexual being you are.

I think deep down he actually hates women while professing to love them.

He hates women alright. And it’s not deep down. Middle aged women in particular as he has no use for them sexually - and if they’re no use sexually, what use are they at all . (Older women might get a pass if they fall within the twinkly granny stereotype that he can patronise.)
Unfortunately he is far from alone in this. After all, he was so confident that others would share his view, and this would vindicate him, that he put this on video and shared it with the world.

I was just scrolling my fyp on Instagram and his recent video popped up with him blathering on about thanks for all the support etc. The comments were, mostly, as as you would expect. Apparently it's woke to not agree with sexual harassment and you're a snowflake if you object to being sexually harassed by that fucking over boiled egg of a man.

I think it’s absolutely baffling that someone with the limited talent of Gregg Wallace has had such a long career on TV anyway, without finding out he is a massive creeper as well.

I personally like Andi Oliver and think she is wasted on Great British Menu, so she would have my vote as a replacement.
