Caz's made to measure was fab, the right mix of creativity, interpreting the brief and technical skill. The illusion bit of Yasmin's dress worked really well and I liked the design, but it wasn't quite as well sewn. Orla shot herself in the foot trying to make too much of a statement. That dress looked like "death by gay scaffolding poles".

Honestly Kit didn't bother me, it's not his fault the judges favoured him alot but it was pretty evident this week that he ignored sound advice regarding the buckles & his self draft pattern was a failure therefore it was a given for him to go.
There's a comment on the Sewing Bee's IG saying that his pattern wasn't self-drafted but that it was a McCall's vintage one from Pinterest 🤷‍♀️

I’d really warmed to Dan over the last weeks and I loved it when he said how much he’d miss Caz. Hope she wins. I do love her made to measure outfits.

That was a fun episode. Cute stuff.

The monkey had me and my other half in hysterics - his face looked liked that “retouched” painting of Jesus.

I definitely thought Beth had garment of the week this week - ah well. Hers was great!

I really like that they use a variety of differently abled bodies as models - and don't even mention it. I never saw anyone on TV with my disability when I was younger.

The Sewing Bee facebook group was interesting this morning. Some commenters bashing people for being glad Kit had gone/criticising him. 🙄 Be Kind etc
If you go on a competition show, expect people will either like or dislike. It's on tv for public consumption. I think a previous contestant waded into the comments to say remember you see 5 mins of the day, etc. yeah, okay, but he still pulled smug faces, and he still poo-poo'd Patrick and Esme's advice about reading instructions. And his tone of voice when he said something like I KNOW HOW TO MAKE TROUSERS SO I'M JUST GOING TO IGNORE THE INSTRUCTIONS... his tone was arrogant.

He is a good technical sewer, but we are allowed to dislike him 😅

I think I want Orla to win, but the remaining 3 are about equal, I think, so it will come down to the performance on the day. Looking forward to it!

Also on Facebook quite a few criticisms of Esme's judging which I do agree with.
There was a lot to criticise to be fair. His attitude was terrible. He could just have been trying to be flippant to disguise his nerves but sadly he did come across as arrogant in fact I found him really irritating, and I haven't felt that before with him.

Beth is my favourite too. I think she's been judged harshly for her designs being a bit 'safe'. But the execution is always exquisite.

Was it mean I laughed at who went out? 🤭 She 100% thought she was safe.
Beth is also my favourite! Not only is she really talented but I think she’s really humble too. Anna is great but she knows it.

I have to admit I did let out a massive “ha!” when Sophie said who was going. I clocked her being shown first in the shots of the contestants during the dramatic pause and that’s usually a signal that they’re going. I’m very happy she’s gone, she was not worth watching at all.

I really struggle to watch now that ghastly Sara Pascoe presents. She is so infuriatingly irritating, and never ever funny.

Kit is so insufferably smug, I'm sick of him winning everything but the calibre of the contestants is weaker each year, so he is probably the strongest overall.

They had a dreadful bias against Gaynor - her transformation was the best.

And yes couldn’t we all throw a scary scarecrow thing together.

The judgings a load of inconsistent shit.

I like watching the show but I definitely learnt more in the earlier series. Gaynor for example is clearly a great sewer who actually plans the timings well. Making random pop art stuff isn't particularly relatable, it's not project runway.

I really like Anna but to be fair she should have gone last night. She came last in the pattern challenge and then that made measure was a disaster. Yes it was ambitious but it couldn't be done in the time allowed., and isn't that the point?

Beth deserves to win. I would be disappointed if Anna wins now. I think both Esme and Patrick have a soft spot for Anna.
I agree. I really like Beth, but for weeks now I've felt like Anna was chosen early as series winner regardless of her output in the challenges. I hope I'm wrong.

I was glad, she thought she was so fantastic. When they told her that was definitely a fake cry. Didn't like her at all.

Am so glad I never have to see Kit's smug greedy face on my telebox ever again. What on earth was that shambolic scraps held together by d-rings mess he created, you couldn't wear that to the W.I. meeting.

Also thrilled Sara Pascoe is going, hopefully it'll be a lot more watchable with a new host, she has been painful to watch.

Yasmin's sailor dress was by far the best.
The sailor dress was marvellous. Incredibly well made. The pleats at the front looked so neat (as if I know anything about pleats 😂 ).
It really is an open competition now which is exciting.
I think Sophie will be a great addition - good choice to get her.
