Power of attorney can’t be changed as his mum doesn’t have capacity. She is the only person who can change it. However the Office of the Public Guardian are responsible for overseeing them so they may have stepped in or local authority have. The Adults with Incapacity Scotland Act provides local authority ie social workers powers to deal with these types of situations x
Hopefully they’re keeping an eye on him. They must know he’s keen to keep the gravy train running by moving her care homes. Poor woman is confused enough, the last thing she needed was being moved for absolutely no reason. Only to benefit her greedy son.

I hate folk being exploited and feel sorry for poor Linda but I'm guilty of laughing at videos of a woman with dementia, page called dementia nan she cracks me up reminds me of my gran who had dementia.so I'm a hypocrite 😧 I hope this new care home stop him exploiting the poor woman though!

I would imagine the social care dept at GCC would have had to liaise with whatever area they moved her to as you can’t just move people unless you have mega bucks paying for it yourself and from what I can gather in this area of Scotland is still near bloody impossible without being on a waiting list for ages.
He most certainly should not be using her for adverts.
Also I do not buy that he struggled to find legal advice cos no one deals with it. When I did it, it was very clearly defined welfare POA put in place by the person when they still have capacity and guardianship is when you have to apply after or because they lose capacity and is a nightmare to get. I am wondering if GCC tried to have the POA overturned and get guardianship themselves - this is something I only learned recently that social care can take guardianship of people who have not got a POA in place if required.
It’s a subject close to my heart hence why I am going on about it so much 🙈🤣

Can’t get legal advice because he’s in the wrong and no lawyer would agree with him!!

Just tried to watch his tiktok but couldn't get to the end of it. All that whinging just for attention and the comments just encouraging the beg. I fear he has got permission from the new care home to keep filming and that's why he's back.

I don't like how he films his mum in distress. She can't consent to being recorded anymore as she doesn't have the mental capacity and I feel like Graeme's just taking advantage of this and exploiting her. Don't get me wrong I think he's great to his mum by how he's patient with her, how he talks to her and takes care of her, but Graeme please respect the woman's dignity and keep her away from the camera.

I get he wants to raise awareness about Alzheimer's which is absolutely fine but I wish he would do it in a more respectful way and a way that isn't exploiting his poor mum. I also think moving her care home will not be good for her at all, as she'll be in a strange environment with strange faces.

Plenty of solicitors in Glasgow do this type of work. As the poster below daud he maybe struggled to get a solicitor because of the nature of what he was doing!

Exactly - he’s an idiot. Even a quick Google search provides an accurate answer which disproves his rubbish.
His mother was no more than a bloody prop in that Water Wipes ad.
What is scary also is the amount of idiots in the claiming to be care professionals agreeing with him in the comments.
There was a court case about a woman with dementia being used by her family in TikTok’s. They were from Kilwinning - I don’t know the outcome but I remember blocking them as I thought they were a disgrace first time I saw them.

I used to like Graeme at first when he was first raising awareness and always spoke well in interviews and stuff. But with anyone I think social media goes to their head. I never saw him doing an advert for a care product, that is wrong and surely he can see that. I'm sure the care home must be fairly local to me but I think they've done the right thing by saying look enough is enough. As others have said you can still raise awareness, share your experiences etc but without showing poor Linda all the time.

Focus on taking her on her wee days out and spending that quality time with her.

The waterwipe advert is still on his TikTok it’s fairly recent, it looks like he’s deliberately put her food on her face so he can wipe it off for the ad

If someone can’t eat to the extent they have slittered that amount of food down their front then they need a referral to SALT for appropriate action to be taken. She’s either 1. Unable to eat and at the risk of aspiration. 2. Been forced to try eat food she doesn’t like or 3. Had food put down her for her son to exploit and make a quick buck 🙄
Hmmmm…🤔

I’ve had 2 family members pass with Alzheimer’s & whilst I really really sympathise. I just looked up the water wipe ad & it made me a little upset. I know he means no harm at all but surely better ways to advertise them 😟

I've not saw him pop up in a long time but I remember seeing a tiktok he done a good while back saying he won't be posting much about his mum anymore due to her condition worsening so I wonder what changed. Saying you're raising awareness but making money from it isn't raising awareness at all it's exploiting your vulnerable mother by using her as an advertisement and benefiting from it.

Seen a post from Graeme on his Facebook a few days ago, looks like he might end up having permission to start posting his mum again. I completely understand that he wants to raise awareness about Alzheimer's but he's going about doing it the wrong way.

It’s nothing about raising awareness it’s about it him raising money using his vulnerable mother for content. He has no other content apart from her.

That's actually true now I think about it properly, without his mum he wouldn't have a social media platform. He'd be a nobody. I feel for his poor mum being exploited like that.

I’m watched this tossed greetin about hard done to he was on a live the other night and when answering a question he said how his mum has no problems with being able to eat. Aye well just proves the point he put all the food down his Mum’s front for that advert. Guy is a disgrace.
